音楽との能動的な接し方の特徴は,自分なりの音楽表現という創造性の発揮にある.しかし現実には音楽理論や楽器操作技術の困難により,多くの人は能動的な音楽との接触を諦めている.筆者らは,これらの困難を計算機で支援することにより,だれでも容易に創造的音楽表現に取り組める楽器の実現を目指している.本論文では,そのための一手段として,音機能固定マッピング手法を提案する.従来の楽器は音高を演奏インターフェース上の固定ポジションにマッピングする音高固定マッピング型の楽器であった.しかし,音には音高以外の属性があり,その1つとして,音楽的環境に応じて個々の音が人に様々な情動的作用を与える,機能という属性がある.音機能固定マッピングとは,常時一定の演奏ポジションに一定の機能を持つ音をマッピングする手法である.ある音の機能の判定には音楽理論に基づく解析が必要であるが,この手法によれば,演奏者は必要な機能を持つ音を理論的解析を行うことなく直接取り出せ,さらにそれらを自由に組み合わせることにより,容易に自分なりの創造的音楽表現を実現できるようになる.本論文では,特に音の機能の考え方が重要となるジャズの即興演奏を対象として作成した試作器と,それを用いた被験者実験について説明し,本手法の可能性について検討する.Many people cannot help but give up to play music bacause of difficultyof a musical theory or a manipulation of a musical instrument.The authors aim todevelop a musical instrument with whcih anyone can enjoycreating of music with the support of a computer.In this paper,we propose a concept called the "fixed mapping of note-funcitons".With an ordianary musical instrument,a specific pitch is always mapped on a specific position of the instrument;this is a "fixed mapping of pitch" instrument.However,a note has other attributes.A note-function,i.e.,theemotional effect of a note depending on the temporal musical situation,is one of them.The mapping of a specific note-function on a specific position is the basis of the "fixed mapping of note-funcitons" concept.In order to determine the note-function,a theoretical analysis is usually necessary.Using the proposed method,however,it becomes possible to directly extract notes with the required functions without any theoretical considerations and to exhibit creativity by combining the notes.In this paper,we show a prototype of an instrument for improvisational jazz,provide several subjective experimental results and dsicuss the possibilities of the method.

視覚と聴覚の両方に障害のある重度の人(盲ろう者)は,「移動」,「コミュニケーション」,「情報」の3つの障害がある。盲ろうとはどういう障害か,盲ろう者のパソコン環境とはどういうものかを概説した上で,大阪府立中央図書館などでの筆者のパソコン利用支援の経験やそれらを支援する人たちの養成を紹介する。また,2009年3月に筆者がアメリカでの盲ろう者の情報機器の状況や支援の状況を視察した。米国での盲ろう者の状況を紹介した上で,日本で今後,必要な支援や求められていることについて考える。

Micro-strucure, micro-hardness and micro-absorbed impact energy in the Japanese sword have been investigated to clarify excellent mechanical properties of the Japanese sword. The Japanese sword specimen used in the present research has been made by using TSUKURIKOMI process which combines four kinds of steels; HAGANE (edge), SHINGANE (core), MUNEGANE (back) and KAWAGANE (side) steels, with different carbon contents. By this process, HASAKI (edge) side becomes high carbon steel and MUNE (back) side possesses low carbon steel. The cooling velocity in quenching of the Japanese sword is controlled by TSUCHIOKI treatment which coats the clay thinner in the HASAKI side and thicker in the MUNE side. The HASAKI side is quickly cooled and the MUNE side is slowly cooled. The micro-structure in the HASAKI side shows martensite while the MUNE side shows the coexist structure of ferrite and pearlite. The HASAKI side has a lower value while the MUNE side shows a higher value in the micro absorbed impact energies obtained with the 1.0 and 0.7 mm square miniaturized specimens. It has been shown clearly that the TSUKURIKOMI and the TSUCHIOKI processes give the excellent gradated balance of strength-toughness to the Japanese sword.The ORIKAESHI (folding) forging has an effect both on the carbon content and as quenched hardness in HAGANE steel. The most suitable times of ORIKAESHI cycles which adjust to the carbon content of 0.55-0.60 mass% and hardness of 800HV1 have been determined to be thirteen times. These times of ORIKAESHI cycles correspond to the optimum traditional cycles lying between twelve and fifteen times. The present research from the viewpoint of the metallurgy sheds light on the empirical rule in the traditional Japanese sword processing.

This paper discusses the applicability of social capital theory to research on adult and community education. In the field of adult and community education, clarifying the process of subjectivity has been a central task. However, because the self is restricted by society, it is necessary to adopt a relational approach. The leading theory of this kind is social capital theory, which regards social relationships as a sort of "capital", and clarifies the mechanisms of accumulation and diversion of this "capital". In the 1970s, there was discussion about the relationships between community and education. One approach was to view the community as a system and try to reveal its structure, and the other approach was to focus on the construction process of the community through residents' movements. Social capital theory has the potential to adjust this dichotomy between the subject and structure, by focusing on the process and the function of social relationships. The work of Robert D. Putnam, the leading proponent of social capital theory, has three characteristics. The first is conceptualizing the social condition of regulating or affecting governance as social capital. The second is regarding social relationships as a sort of capital, which makes it possible to measure the amount of social capital across the ages and to compare social capital across countries and regions. The third is developing the possibility of conducting intervention studies into the community in order to construct social capital. In Japan, policy makers and researchers have shown increasing interest in social capital theory, with the promotion of community governance in recent years. The theory of social capital affects the lifelong learning policies of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development and the European Union, and attempts have been made to identify point of contact between the theory and research on adult and community education. Experience has shown that adult and community education can create partnerships and trust among residents in a local community, and that these relationships can add to lead to changes in the community. Social capital can add to this understanding by providing a theoretical framework and guidelines for empirical research. When trying to apply the concept of social capital to research on adult and community education, it is necessary to clarify the level of analysis, to focus on social networks, to examine nature as "capital," and to reconsider the concept of social capital as a dynamic one. In future research on adult and community education, it is important to capture not only social relationships among individuals but also social relationships among associations and groups in the community, the process of getting engaged in community activities through belonging to such groups, and how the community is constructed through cumulative activities.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the situation of maternal and child health for thirty years from 1952 to 1981.I have reported the changes of natural features, communities, living conditions, labor technology, and structure of population in farming villages, and the twelve subjects such as 1) superstition, 2) artificial abortion, 3) birth control, 4) labor in menstrual period, 5) signs of physical fatigue of pregnant women, 6) birth and child nursing, 7) pesticide poisoning, 8) abortion due to use of small type cultivators, 9) unbalanced diets, 10) lumbosacral pain, 11) influence of rural environments and 12) decrease of farm population.Mechanization in agriculture, urbanization of rural life, and stagflation have been proceeding, therefore farmers' wives have to work with might and main to earn agricultural and non-agricultural income.By my opinion the socioeconomic policies are essential in the rural areas to ensure an early and strong recovery, to increase of farmhouseholds income, and to secure an ample national budget for the development of health services.

インターネット情報源の増大にともない,レファレンスサービスは変容の機を迎えている。情報源の紹介から,多様な情報源を総合的に活用し利用者の問題解決を支援する,より踏み込んだサービスに変わりつつある。また,従来の図書館のオントロジー(分類法,件名法,目録法など)に加え,ウェブ時代の新たな情報技術とそれが生み出すオントロジーを見据えたレファレンス対応が求められる。本稿は,現場での実例を挙げながら,今後のレファレンスライブラリアンに必要な能力要件を検証する。

"本稿は,新聞等報道で示された野球が被災地において果たす役割について報告する.1959年に伊勢湾台風雨に見舞われた名古屋市を本拠地とするプロ野球チーム(中日ドラゴンズ)は,主催ゲームの利益の一部を義援金として寄附した.1995年に阪神・淡路大震災に見舞われた神戸市を本拠地としていたオリックス・ブルーウェーブは,イベント等で被災者と触れ合うとともに,リーグ制覇という形で市民を励ました.同球団の優勝は,新聞等の報道で神戸市の復興と関連づけて報じられた.また,同年に高校野球が実施されたことに対しても,被災地の復興を象徴するものとして新聞に取り上げられた.2004年,福井豪雨に見舞われた福井市においては,被災地の高校野球部の全国大会出場と,甚大な被害を受けた地区のリトルリーグの活躍が,被災地を勇気づけるものとして新聞にとりあげられた.以上の事例は,被災地における野球チームの活躍は被災地の復興の象徴であり,被災者を勇気付けるものとして取り上げられることを示している."
