本論文では双方向性階層的関数型プログラミングBi-HFPを提案する.HFPでは 一つの処理単位をモジュールによって表す.各モジュールは値の授受のために入力属性挫出力属性のリストをもつが この属性の値がある条件(結合条件)を満たしたときに 親モジュールをより簡単な処理を行う子モジュールに分割する.分割時には 親 子モジュール間の属性方程式(意味規則)に従ってさらにいくつかの属性値が決定される.Bi-HFPにおいてはHFPと同一な記述を 結合条件が満たされたときに子モジュールが親モジュールに統合されるというようにも拡張解釈する.Bi-HFPの記述例としてパーザについて述べる.われわれの方法では 扱う文脈自由文法の非終端記号をモジュールに 生成規則をモジュールの分割統合に対応させる.処理する入力文字列を親モジュールの入力属性に与え この文字列の先頭が適したものであるかどうかを結合条件に用いるとトップ・ダウン・パーザが記述できる.また 子モジュールに対応する部分文字列が連続であるかどうかを結合条件とするとボトム・アップ・パーザが得られる.両方式とも自然言語の意味についての属性 属性方程式を導入することによって自然言語処理へと拡張することが可能である.われれはまた Bi-HFPの操作的意味を定義する.Bi-HFPの計算の状態は モジュールの階層的分割関係を示す木(計算木)の集合により表されるが この状態に関する2項関係によりBi-HFPの計算過程は定義される.

本稿では、「問題や症状が維持され、変わらない学生の姿」に疑問を持ち、現代学生の心理的特徴とその支援について先行研究を概観した。多くの先行研究から、現代学生の心理的特徴として、葛藤を抱えられない断片的なこころの構造があり、身体化や行動化が生じやすいというメカニズムが見出された。また、そのようなこころの構造や現代の密着した親子関係などによって、主体性が育ちにくく、修学・進路の課題を抱えやすいことも示された。学生相談では、これらの特徴を理解した上で、洞察を促す従来の心理療法モデルに固執するのではなく、またニーズや要求に即座に応じるサービス的な支援に偏ることのない、柔軟で粘り強い支援を行っていくことが重要であるといえる。また学生の心理面・修学面での支援を一層有効なものにするためには、学生相談室の活動のみに留まらず、学内全体の学生支援体制を模索していくことが望ましいといえる。

“Resolution” in music theory means the chord progression by the transition from dissonance to consonance for providing more profound satisfaction to listeners than consonant chord only. The authors have investigated similar effects in temporal color transitions as an analogy of musical perception’s effect. In Part (1), the authors used various display patterns of three-colors combinations, measured the score of the color consonance with a sensory test, and revealed conditions where the “resolution” effect is enhanced. In Part (2), the authors focus on the conditions of gaze control. The fixation point appears as a small white dot on the black screen, and the observers are advised to fix their gaze onto the point. The white dot continues to appear while the observers watch the color arrangements and the transition. The experimental results suggest that the “resolution” effect appears more clearly when the color arrangements are captured in peripheral visual fields.

The purpose of this study is to investigate causal effects of designated temporary housing policy on housing recovery. This study used two sets of population recovery data. The first was the 2015 Natori City Life Recovery Population Survey Data (N=1,695 out of 2331 households, return rate 72.7%). The second was the entire record of temporary housing residency in Natori City (N=3088 households). These datum were integrated (N=1206). After confounding adjustment by the propensity score analysis, survival analysis was conducted. The result showed that the effects of temporary housing types on temporary housing residency was non-significant when confounding factors were controlled.

We are studying how cinchona, one of the most important medicinal plants, was introduced and cultivated in Japan. We already mentioned that in the process, two cultivation attempts were made: the first in Japan in 1882, and the second in the Taiwanese town of Hengchun in approximately 1900, when Taiwan was under Japanese colonial rule. Yasusada Tashiro was behind those two cinchona cultivation attempts; however, they both ended in failure. Later, Tashiro became an employee of Hoshi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and in 1922, succeeded for the first time in cultivating cinchona at the company-owned cinchona field in Taiwan. This third challenge for him finally led to success. Hoshi Pharmaceutical went on further to produce cinchona bark from the cultivated tree for the first time in 1934, and also succeeded in extracting quinine from the bark. This was a historic feat in the Japanese pharmaceutical industry, completing an entire process from cinchona cultivation to quinine manufacture all within the confines of the country. In this report, we describe the historical background and involvement of Yasusada Tashiro, who was instrumental to the success of cinchona cultivation in the company. Furthermore, we reveal that a log of unknown origin, which had been left untouched for years at Hoshi University, was the cinchona log from the time when Hoshi Pharmaceutical succeeded in the cultivation.

There are five macromolecular crystallography beamlines at the Photon Factory. All beamlines support fully automated unattended data collection and remote interactive data collection, and users can select them when they submit beamtime requests. The beamlines also support browsing of results of the past experiments as well as the automated data analysis pipelines. The interactive data processing and raw data download from remote will be supported in the next autumn.
