吟醸酒は, 低落傾向にあった清酒業界の救世主とも称すべき貴重な存在である。しかしながら, この吟醸酒が世に現われ人々にもてはやされるまでには, 長い苦難の道のりが必要であったことを知る人は少ない。筆者は四半世紀も前に吟醸酒の市販を決意し実施に踏切った。今日の吟醸酒時代を招来したパイオニアに25年間の苦心と創意工夫とを語っていただいたが, 吟醸酒をこよなく愛し育ててきた筆者は現在の吟醸酒ブームについて大きな危惧を抱いている。味読をお願いしたい。

DVDレコーダは、1999年12月に第1号機が発売されて以来、光ディスクの大きな特徴である高速なアクセスを売り物にした映像録画機器として、大きな注目を集めている。今回当杜では、DVD-R対応4.7GB DVD-RAMドライブを搭載し、(1)世界初のDVDにおける追っかけ再生・同時録画再生、(2)ハイブリッドVBR方式を用いたDVD-R記録、(3)プレイリストのシームレス再生、等の新機能を実現した第2世代DVDレコーダ「DMR-E20」を開発したので、そのハードウェア、ソフトウェア構成、及び新機能を実現した制御方法について報告する。

Thomas Hepburn is an eighteenth-century Presbyterian minister whose tract translated here presents a fine example of the work in political economy in the Scottish Enlightenment. In it Hepburn acutely analyses the main causes of the poverty of the Orkney Islands, a remote area of Scotland where he served for nearly two decades. His main purpose was to defend the Earl of Morton, a Scottish nobleman who had been involved in a bitterly-fought epic court case called the 'Pundlar Process', about tyranny and oppression with which he had been charged by his own vassals. Hepburn in the end remits the Earl of Morton, citing many reasons why the Islands were suffering from poverty, other than the alleged tyranny and oppression. Hepburn is now an overlooked and almost forgotten figure who nonetheless shows how political economy characteristically emerged in the Scottish Enlightenment out of eighteenth-century British political culture and legal contexts.

症例は,甲状腺乳頭癌の38歳,女性。甲状腺癌(T4aN0M1,stageⅡ)の診断で,34歳7カ月時点に甲状腺全摘,気管合併切除(気管輪1-5,端々吻合),中心領域郭清術が施行された。術後,多発肺転移に対し内照射療法を計4回施行しているが,肺転移巣は徐々に増多,増大した。38歳4カ月時点で軽い上気道炎を契機に呼吸苦が出現した。入院の上全身管理を行ったが呼吸不全のため永眠された。甲状腺乳頭癌は,非常に予後が良いことで知られ,特に若年で発症した場合は更に高い治癒率のため本疾患で亡くなることは稀有である。また,本疾患は腫瘍増殖速度が非常に緩徐である,疾患特異的治療として内照射療法が有効である,などの他の悪性腫瘍とは異なる特徴がある。これら本来治療する上で利点と言える特性は,がん終末期においては反対にその対策を困難にする。今回,生命予後が予測できず対応に苦慮した症例を経験したので報告した。

築20年のオフィスビルが、全60戸の高級賃貸マンションに生まれ変わった。居住エリアとしてのイメージが薄い立地だが、地域を特定した市場調査で入居者像を絞り込み、新築マンションにはなかなかできない付加価値をいくつも盛り込んだ。一抹の不安を抱えた事業化だったが、いざふたを開けてみると、高額でも付加価値の高い住戸から入居者が決まった。

Flat-rate overtime pay is a hotbed of problems as it consists of putting in long hours with little pay.The trouble arising from flat-rate overtime pay is increasing yearly.Recently, there have been a few precedents of court cases surrounding the flat-rate overtime payments to people working in excess of the monthly time limit of 45 hours.To be effective flat-rate overtime payments require the agreement of both labor and management.In connection to this, this paper has been written based on Justice Sakurai of the Supreme Court's supporting opinion in the Tec Japan case.

本稿の主要な目的は、ある知的障害特別支援学校に転入学した<グレーゾーン>の生徒の適応過程の分析をもとに、知的障害特別支援学校の学校文化の特徴に関して考察することにある。本稿を通して明らかになったことは、次の3 点である。第一に、知的障害特別支援学校の教師が、能力差を前提にした「共同体化」と就労を意識した「障害者化(軽度障害者化/中重度障害者化)」を両立させるという職責を担っていること、第二に、<グレーゾーン>の生徒に対して「差異化の後押し」戦略や「学校外資源の活用」戦略を行使することで、知的障害特別支援学校の秩序維持と生徒たちの近い将来の社会的自立の同時達成をねらっていること、そして第三に、知的障害特別支援学校は、社会の「周辺化」のメカニズムの一端を担う装置でありそれに強く規定されながら教師と生徒の応酬が行われていることである。知的障害特別支援学校においても教師たちだけでなく「障害児」とされる生徒たちもまた能動的・創造的に生活しているのであり、通常学校となんら変わりなく教師と生徒の「せめぎ合い」としてその学校文化を捉えていくことの必要性が確認された。
