In this paper, I consider a philosophical interpretation of Hilbert's program put forward by Paul Bernays. The paper consists, roughly, of two parts. In the first part, I briefly describe Bernays's polemic against "immanence philosophy" over the question concerning the epistemological status of theoretical sciences and its relation to the foundational controversy in mathematics in the 1920s. In the second part, I briefly discuss the theory of cognition contained in the transcendental philosophy of Jakob Friedrich Fries and his twentieth century evangelist, Leonard<BR>Nelson, and consider Bernays's view against the background of this intellectual tradition. I conclude the paper by arguing for the importance of attending to Friesian influence in order to achieve a deeper understanding of Bernays's (and Hilbert's) philosophy of mathematics.

甲状腺濾胞癌のすべてを術前に濾胞腺腫と鑑別することは不可能であるが, 遠隔転移を生ずる可能性の高い濾胞癌を区別することができれば臨床上の意味は大きい。濾胞癌34例 (1985~1999年, 男11, 女23, 27~76歳) を対象に遠隔転移例の臨床病理学的特徴を検討した。遠隔転移例は11例 (骨7, 肺2, 骨+肺2)で, うち4例が原病死しており, 非遠隔転移23例 (原病死0) より有意に予後不良であった。遠隔転移例では非遠隔転移例と比較して, (1) 術後血中サイログロブリン値が正常化しない (全例)。(2) 割面の肉眼所見で広範浸潤型を呈し (11例中10例), 厚い被膜を持つ症例が多い (11例中8例が1mm以上の厚さの被膜)。(3) 組織学的に脈管侵襲陽性 (全例) で, 低分化成分を持つ症例が多い (11例中10例)。といった特徴があった。これらの特徴を有する症例については, 例え初診時に遠隔転移がなくとも長期の経過観察が重要と考えられた。

Reduction methods in trihalomethane formation potential (THMFP) were investigated for a treated sewage, fulvic acid in a treated sewage, fulvic acid in a leaf mold and humic acid in a leaf mold by oxidation with ozone, potassium permanganate (KMnO4), adsorption with activated carbon and their combination.The molecular weight distributions of the three humic substances were determined using a Sephadex G-25 or G-75 before and after the ozonation. The eluted solution was divided into four or three groups and for each THMFP per unit organic carbon was determined. THMFPs of the fulvic acid and the humic acid in leaf mold were reduced effectively by ozonation alone. On the other hand, THMFPs of the treated sewage and the fulvic acid in treated sewage were not reduced significantly by the oxidation with ozone or KMnO4, though THMFP was reduced considerably by the adsorption with activated carbon.The molecular weight of the fulvic acid and the humic acid in leaf mold fairly decreased by ozonation, and their THMFPs were reduced significantly since the decomposed lower molecular weight fractions had very small THMFPs per unit organic carbon. The molecular weights of the smaller fulvic acid in treated sewage were reduced more by ozonation, but the THMFP showed no significant decrease.

[Purpose] The aim of this study was to evaluate the overlap effect of the PNF following the application of Kinesio taping and the McConnell taping, and also the impact of the taping application method on the balance and walking speed of the patients with stroke. [Subjects and Methods] Thirty-six patients who were diagnosed with hemiplegia due to stroke were selected as subjects of this study. They were randomly and evenly divided into experiment group 1 (Kinesio taping group), experiment group 2 (McConnell taping group), and the control group; each group had 12 patients. [Results] The Berg balance scale (BBS) was used to evaluate balance, and the ability in this study. A 10 m walking test (10MWT) was performed to measure the walking speed. Experiment group 1 showed a statistically significant improvement in balance and walking speed compared to experiment group 2, and the control group in week 4 and week 8. [Conclusion] Application of Kinesio taping had a more beneficial effect on the balance and walking speed than joint-fixation taping of the patients with stroke.

In seiner "Transzendentalen Asthetik" beabsichtigte Immanuel Kant, die Aprioritat von Zeit und Raum zu beweisen. Ob es ihm aber gelungen ist, sie als eine Begriindung von objektiver Gultigkeit der Erkenntnis geltend zu machen, scheint mir einigermaBen fragwurdig. Um die Begrundung zu berechtigen, muBte auch der ProzeB des Zustandekommens von der Zeit-und Raumvorstellung als apriorisch angesehen, vielmehr bewiesen werden. Meines Erachtens konnte jedoch die Zeit-und Raumvorstellung nur a posteriori entstehen als Bedingung fur Existenz. Dabei taucht eine Frage auf : Wie kommt man zur Erkenntnis, daB Zeit und Raum notwendige Bedingungen fur Existenz seien? Erfahrung allein konnte diese Frage nicht uberzeugend auflosen. Das ist der Grund, warum ich hies Notwendigkeit in zwei Arten kategorisiere : ,,absolute und relative Notwendigkeit,,. Dieser DenkprozeB wird uns unvermeidlich zum SchluB fuhren, daB Zeit und Raum wirklich die notwendigen Bedingungen fur Existenz sind. Alles in allem : die Selbstverstandlichkeit der Existenz hebt die relative Notwendigkeit zur absoluten auf.

衛星データの解析、地表調査、地震データの解析を用いて、2016年熊本地震の断層活動とその断層セグメントの境界の特徴を調べた。衛星データに干渉SAR解析を適用した結果から、一連の断層活動に伴う地表変動を明瞭に知ることができる。その干渉SAR解析の結果をもとに現地調査を実施し、実際の地表変動を確認した。特に阿蘇山周辺にみられた複雑な地表変動に注目した。干渉SAR解析の結果から、九州西部(熊本市〜阿蘇山)では北東—南西方向に伸びる直線状の断層システムを確認できるが、局所的な変動に注目すると火山といった地質の不均質性に影響を受けた断層活動や地表変動を確認できる。4月16日に発生した本震(M7.3)では、阿蘇山より南西側の断層が活動しており、阿蘇山周辺で断層運動が止まったことが分かる。断層運動は右横ずれであるため、断層のエッジの南側にあたる阿蘇山では水平方向への引っ張りの力が働き、北側にある大津町周辺は圧縮の力が働いている。実際に、阿蘇山のカルデラ内部は引張による地表の沈降が明瞭に認められる。特に大きく沈降している地域はマグマ溜まりの位置とも整合的で、引張に伴うマグマ溜まりの変形が関係している可能性がある。このような変動は2011年の東北地方太平洋沖地震でも確認されている。現地調査でも、引張に伴うとみられる巨大な開口亀裂が阿蘇市狩野(カルデラ内部)に見られた。巨大亀裂の開口幅は約1m以上あるものもあり、走向は北東—南西方向で本震の断層と方向が整合的であった。一方で、断層の北側に位置する菊池郡大津町では、本震断層とは異なったいくつかの断層運動が認められた。これらの断層の走向は東西方向で、逆断層運動をしている可能性がある。現地調査では、この大津町でみられた地表変形には横ずれ方向への運動は認められなかった。これらは阿蘇山という火山岩体西部での急激な本震断層の停止とそれに伴って生じる局所的な圧縮の力によって形成されたと考えられる。本震の約2時間後(4月16日3:55)に阿蘇で発生したマグニチュード5.6の地震では、震源が阿蘇山の北東側へと進展し、九重連山へと達している。干渉SAR解析の結果からも、その直線的な変動を見ることができる。熊本〜阿蘇〜九重にかけての地震メカニズム(横ずれ断層)と九重〜大分にかけての地震メカニズム(正断層)は異なることから、九重連山は地殻に働く応力分布の境界として働いている可能性がある。これらのことから火山(阿蘇山や九重連山)は、地震のセグメンテーションの境界として働いている可能性がある。これは火山体や火山性堆積物の強度は他の場所とは異なっていることや、断層の摩擦特性に影響を与える地殻温度が火山周辺では異常に高いことに影響している可能性がある。

本稿は、平成二十年十月刊行の福井市立郷土歴史博物館特別展図録『福井藩と江戸』に掲載した、拙稿「福井藩主の参勤交代について」の一部を抜粋し、修正の上で加筆したものである。福井藩の参勤交代の研究は緒に就いたばかりであり、本稿では同藩の参勤交代の実施状況など基礎的なデータを提示して分析すると共に、福井藩主松平慶永(春嶽)などの道中記録から、幕末の参勤交代の旅程と旅行中の藩主の行動などを紹介するものである。

The purpose of this study was to examine the differences between regret over actions taken versus regret over inaction vis-a-vis bereaved family. The focal points of the study were as follows: 1) to explore the nature of unreversed regret in the bereaved; 2) to examine the association between the number and intensity of regrets and mental health and grief; and 3) to examine the effect of action and inaction on mental health and grief. Using a mail-in questionnaire, we surveyed and analyzed the results of 89 bereaved respondents. The results showed that participants had more lifetime regrets over inaction than over action taken. The number and intensity of regrets also correlated with mental health and grief. Bereaved participants who expressed regret over inaction had poorer mental health and stronger feelings of grief than those with no regrets over inaction. We discuss the implications of unreversed regret and examine regret prevention for the bereaved.
