微動探査における位相速度の逆解析では,最小2乗法だけでなく,遺伝的アルゴリズムなどのヒューリスティック探索法も使われている。しかし,ヒューリスティック探索法は,最小2乗法などに比べてパラメータの感度が直接的にはわかりにくいという短所もある。本研究では,マルコフ連鎖モンテカルロ法を位相速度の逆解析に適用することを試み,その適用性を検討した。まず,大規模な平野の深部地盤を模擬した地盤モデルを仮定して数値実験を行った。周波数0.1~2Hzの基本モードのレイリー波の位相速度を計算し,擬似観測データを作成した。逆解析では,Metropolis-Hastings法を用いて,モデルのサンプリングを行い,それらのモデルのS波速度と厚さの平均値と標準偏差を求めことにより逆解析結果を得ると。尤度関数で与えた位相速度の観測誤差によらず,得られた解は正解値に近いものであった。一方,モデルパラメータの推定精度は観測値の標準偏差に依存し,観測値の標準偏差が大きいほど,モデルパラメータの推定誤差も大きくなった。さらに,位相速度の周波数範囲を限定して逆解析を行った。低周波数の位相速度の欠如によって深い部分の地層のパラメータの標準偏差が大きくなり,分解能が低下することを定量的に示した。また,高周波数の位相速度の欠如の影響が浅部のパラメータの不確かさに影響を及ぼすことを示した。つぎに,サンプルされたモデル群に対するS波の1次元増幅特性を計算し,位相速度の観測誤差が増幅特性の変動に与える影響を検討した。その結果,卓越周期やその倍率ではばらつきが少なかったが,短周期になるほど増幅特性のばらつきが大きくなることがわかった。最後に,関東平野での既往の微動探査による位相速度にも適用し,他の手法と同程度の地盤モデルを推定した。さらに,モデルの精度および増幅特性のばらつきも評価することができた。以上の検討から,マルコフ連鎖モンテカルロ法による位相速度の逆解析では,パラメータの推定精度を定量的に評価することが可能であり,微動探査で有効な方法であると考えられる。

A 13-year-old intact male Shih-Tzu presented with a 2-month history of gastrointestinal signs. A mechanical ileus developed due to an obstruction from an intramural tumor in the small intestine that was surgically resected. The tumor was diagnosed as a high-grade intestinal T-cell lymphoma with incomplete margins and serosal and mesentery extension. CHOP chemotherapy (vincristine, cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, and prednisolone) was applied, but during the CHOP protocol, the dog developed a nodule on the skin in the scapular area. Histopathological examination of a punch biopsy revealed a high-grade cutaneous T-cell lymphoma. Lomustine was administered and the cutaneous T-cell lymphoma was surgically resected and histologically diagnosed to have complete margins. However, the dog experienced progressive disease. With adjuvant chemotherapy including dexamethasone, melphalan, actinomycin D, and cytosine arabinoside (DMAC), and chlorambucil, methotrexate, and prednisolone (LMP), the patient lived for 571 days in relatively good health condition. No evidence of recurrence nor metastasis was revealed at necropsy. This case suggests the benefit of surgical resection for both intestinal and cutaneous T-cell lymphoma lesions. However, further studies are required to investigate the effect of chemotherapy, remission rate, survival time, and impact on the quality of life.

A 10-year-old female mongrel dog presented with abdominal distension. Physical, radiographic, and ultrasound examinations detected an intestinal mass and ascites. Laparotomy revealed that the mass originated from the cecum and disseminated in the omentum and pancreas. Surgical resection of the mass and disseminated lesions was performed. Histopathological examination revealed the mass and lesions to be gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs). Imatinib mesylate (10 mg/kg/sid) was administered for 355 days postoperatively. The dog survived for > 855 days with no recurrence and metastasis. Adjuvant chemotherapy with imatinib mesylate may be an effective treatment for GIST.

The first importation of live penguins to Japan took place when two Humboldt Penguins (Spheniscus humboldti) arrived in 1915 from Chile. One of them was donated to the Tokyo Imperial Household Museum Zoo (which later became Ueno Zoological Gardens) on June 9, 1915 by Mr. Isokichi Ozawa, the chief engineer of a Japanese merchant ship with regular service to South America. After its death it was preserved as a stuffed specimen, and its record was found in the specimen database (Tensanbu Daicho) of the Tokyo Imperial Household Museum. After the passing of this penguin, the other individual was purchased by Hanayashiki, an amusement park in the Asakusa district in Tokyo. In 1951, Mr. Haruo Takashima discovered the record for a specimen of the Humboldt Penguin registered by the same specimen number in the Tensanbu Daicho at the National Museum of Nature and Science; he later reported that it was an immature bird (Takashima 1952a). It is now believed that the specimen of the immature Humboldt Penguin at the National Museum of Nature and Science, previously considered to be of unknown origin, was one of those first two living penguins imported into the country. In addition, I found that the penguin illustrated in a traditional Japanese hanging scroll was modeled after the individual kept at Hanayashiki and that it was also an immature bird. This has led this author to assume that immature penguins that were easy to keep, were chosen for shipment to Japan.

With the objective of developing a persuasive voice-interaction system for making presentations to large groups, we analyzed the nonverbal characteristics, especially the prosody and face motion, of 35 Japanese speakers and used the results to model the persuasive prosody and face motion for the system. In regards to prosody, the maximum and average voice pitches of the persuasive speakers were high and the dynamic range of the persuasive speakers' voice pitches was wide. Additionally, the maximum and average lengths of silent pauses of the persuasive speakers were long and the dynamic range of silent pause lengths of the persuasive speakers was wide. In regards to face motion, we found that the persuasive speakers mainly moved their faces from side to side and sparingly moved their faces during utterances. We have reproduced these nonverbal characteristics of prosody and face motion by synthesized voice and computer-generated (CG) animation and confirmed that these characteristics enhanced speakers' persuasiveness.

わが国の心身医学の歴史を顧みると, その初期には「いわゆる催眠僚法, がかなり用いられ, それなりの効果をあげていたが, 最近, 心身医僚の臨床ではほとんど催眠痕法は用いられなくなった.心身医学の領域で催眠療法が廃れた原因として, alexithymiaの概念がわが国に導入され, 心身症は催眠感受性が低く, 催眠療法は心身症の治療法としては無効であるとされたことと, 心身医学療法に対する診療報酬があまりにも低すぎることがあげられる.その後, 心身症の治僚法として, 催眠を母胎として生まれた自律訓練法, さらにはそれを発展させた自律療法が取り入れられるようになったが, もう一度, 他者催眠を見直してもよい時期にきているのではなかろうか。

In the event of a disaster, unmanned construction with remotely operated construction machinery is critical for quick disaster recovery. Those machines can weight up to several tons and can easily sink on inadequate soil. Therefore, it is important to judge the trafficability of remotely operated construction machinery at a disaster site. In this research, we propose a non-contact method for judging trafficability. The proposed method classifies the soil type and estimates the water content using spectral images. The cone index is then estimated and the trafficability is judged from the cone index. As experiment, we judged the trafficability for a real construction machine using the proposed method. The results showed the effectiveness of the proposed method based on soil type classification and water content estimation.

The bicycle tire for the truck race has been improved to be much lighter than the tire of general bicycle. The bicycle tire for the race is used with a high pressure of 10 atm. Since the best speed of the truck race is 80km per hour, much contrivance has been conducted to the tire for the truck race. For example, NR (natural rubber) latex is used as a raw tube material, since the tear strength of NR is strong, in order to reduce the risk to burst. Therefore, there is small impact of the puncture, so the accident in which rider falls down from the bicycle is suppressed. For the adhesion of rim and tire, the rubber cement made by CR (chloroprene rubber) is used. The rubber cement has the work as cushion material of the stress which is added to the tire from various directions.

Non-oxidized metallic copper particles were prepared by plasma irradiation into aqueous solution of cupric sulfate in the presence of gelatin as a protective agent using home-made microwave induced plasma equipment. Then, two different steric structures of ascorbic acid, L-ascorbic acid and isoascorbic acid, were added as reducing auxiliaries. In the case of isoascorbic acid addition, metallic copper particles were obtained by plasma irradiation within about 5 minute. This result suggests that the reduction of copper ion from Cu2+ to metallic Cu can be succeeded by hydrogen radical generated by plasma in water combination with isoascorbic acid, and without toxic chemical agent such as hydrazine. Additionally, the diameter of copper particles can be controlled by the mount of CuSO4•5H2O and gelatin. These results were indicated that the plasma in liquid process has possibilities for high-speed and low environmental load process to prepare metallic copper particles.

液晶ディスプレイは, 既発表のいずれの平面型ディスプレイより薄型, 軽量であり, 駆動電圧, 消費電力が低いという特長がある.本稿では, 液晶セルの動作概要マトリックス型セルの特徴, テレビ画像表示にこれを用いる場合の問題点等について考察する.また2, 3の液晶表示テレビ受像機の試作例について述べ, 今後の発展方向を検討する.

We present the first report of okhotskite in a lawsonite–blueschist–subfacies metachert of the Hakoishi subunit, Kurosegawa Belt, Kyushu, Japan, which was metamorphosed at peak temperatures and pressures of 200–300 °C and 0.6–0.8 GPa. This okhotskite–bearing assemblage is particularly notable because it formed at higher pressures than that of previously documented okhotskite with available pressure estimations. Textural relationships indicate that okhotskite formed during peak metamorphism in equilibrium with piemontite, Na pyroxene, magnesioriebeckite, braunite, and hematite. Okhotskite shows a significant variation in Fe:Mn ratio (Fetot/Mntot = 0.13–0.56) and a following average empirical formula; (Ca7.62Mn2+0.16)Σ7.78(Mn2+2.71Mg1.29)Σ4.00(Mn3+4.13Fe3+2.26Al1.36V3+0.23Ti0.02)Σ8.00Si11.86O44.02(OH)16.98. Raman spectra of okhotskite are reported for the first time and show characteristic peaks at 362, 480, and 563 cm−1. The stability relationships between okhotskite and other Mn–bearing minerals, such as piemontite, sursassite, spessartine, braunite, and Mn–bearing lawsonite, are examined using a revised Schreinemakers’ analysis. The obtained petrogenetic grid provides tight constraints on the P–T relationship of natural mineral assemblages observed in Mn–bearing cherts within epidote–blueschist–grade and lawsonite–blueschist–grade. Furthermore, this petrogenetic grid predicts that the assemblage of okhotskite and Mn–bearing lawsonite should be stable at higher pressures. The higher–pressure stability suggests that highly oxidized Mn–bearing metacherts can transport water and buffer oxygen in the deeper parts of subduction zones, given that okhotskite and Mn–bearing lawsonite contain high water contents (6.9 and 11.3 wt% H2O, respectively) and trivalent manganese.
