The Ikuno tin smelter has started its operation in 1913, followed by tin refinery in 1916. Originally, the reverberatory furnace had been used for smelting, but later it was replaced by the present electric furnace in order to improve productivity and increase tin recovery. The refinery was relocated from Ikuno to Osaka in 1920, and then again relocated to Naoshima in 1960.The present refinery in Ikuno has started operation in 1991. After Akenobe mine was closed in 1987 due to low tin price and its poor mining condition, domestic secondary materials from the market has been purchased and treated. At present, Ikuno plant is the only producer of electro-refining tin in Japan and 65t/month of electric-tin has been produced.

人における言語音と図形の視覚的印象間の連想関係は,完全には恣意的ではなく,例えば円唇母音で構成される無意味語は丸みを帯びた図形に,非円唇母音で構成される無意味語はギザギザの図形にマッピングされる.このような効果は他の感覚間でも存在すると考えられるため,本実験では,形,色,動き,音,触覚の5カテゴリ計10項目間の連想関係の偏りを確かめた.その結果,多くの項目間で連想関係の偏りが認められた.また,偏りに共通する何らかの概念が存在する可能性が示唆された.

初年度の研究計画(これまでの研究史・文献資料検索と分析、ドイツ現地調査)に基づき、広く研究史と現状に付いての多くの文献資料を収集し、それらの分析と整理を実施した。報告書に後述するように、テーマと関連する2学会、日本高等教育学会と日本商業教育学会での学会口頭報告、さらに学術論文2本を投稿した。それらは、特に職業教育という本研究テーマの基盤となるドイツの制度分析と特徴、特に実務教育重視の姿勢とその事例研究であり、初年度の研究にとって必要欠くべからざる課題であった。さらに、初年度に最初のドイツでの現地調査を実施、環境保全職種養成の実態調査と環境マネジメント職種の養成について、各企業でのインタビュー調査を実施した。第2年度の平成15年度に於いては、研究計画(ドイツ現地調査によって収集した資料分析と整理、事例研究の文献との照合)に基づき、ドイツの法的な規制のもとにある「環境保全管理責任者」の存在の確認と当該職種の養成、さらに資格保持者の各企業における実態調査、聞き取り調査を実施した。この間、インタビュー調査によるものと聞き取り調査によるものとの資料収集によって、実際に実施されているドイツ企業での環境保全マネジメント担当者の存在と業務の分析を明らかにする事ができた。本研究テーマの核心部分である。この分析によって特に日本の実態との比較を通して、日本における職業教育野方法との対象性を明らかにする事ができたと確信している。これらの研究上の分析は、学術論文2本、口頭報告2本、にして報告した。最終年度平成16年度は、研究を締めくくる計画、成果のまとめと整理、今後の課題に力を注いだ。特に、年度末には、環境保全意識のつよいモンゴルとの交流を踏まえて、国際シンポジウムでの報告、またモンゴル環境大学(エコ・アジア大学)での講演を実施した。現在報告書を纏め、研究図書として出版の準備を進めている。

ニホンザル1頭を対象にエピソード記憶を要する課題を学習させた。3面モニター内にバーチャル迷路を作り出し,その迷路内を,ジョイスティックを用いて自由に移動し,目標物体を見つけ出す課題の訓練をおこなった。サルはそのエピソードを覚え,続く試行ではより早く目標に到達することができるようになった。また,ラットを対象に,8方向の放射状迷路を用いた「いつ」「どこ」「なに」というエピソード記憶を必要とする課題を学習させた。今後,損傷実験やニューロン活動の記録実験を通して,エピソード記憶の神経機構について検討する予定である。

ミズゴケで栽培したドリテノプシスの乾物重と成分含有率に及ぼす培養液のイオン組成の影響について検討した.茎葉,根,花序などの乾物重と乾物割合は,処理区間での差は比較的少なかった.しかし,K+濃度の増加は茎葉の乾物重の増加に,Ca2+濃度の増加は減少につながった.乾物率は器官間での違いが大きく,茎葉部では6.4~7.4%であったのに対し,根部は8.5~10.4%,花序部では7.0~8.4%となった.各成分の含有率は培養液中の特定のイオン比率が上昇すれば同種元素含有率は増加したが,陽イオンあるいは陰イオン群内の他種のイオンの吸収は抑制された.本実験の陽イオン処理区では茎葉のCa含有率,花序のP含有率に違いが見られた.また,陰イオン処理区では根のP,Ca含有率,花序のN,Ca含有率に違いが見られた.これは,各イオンの吸収と移動が,培養液組成によって影響を受けたことによるものと考えられた.K+はH2PO4−の吸収・転流を阻害し,NO3−はCa2+の吸収を促進したが,その機作については不明であった.

Lors de son 16^e seminaire D'un Autre a l'autre (inedit), Lacan traite le fragment de Pensees que Il'on appelle << le pari de Pascal >>. Au libertin qui refuse de jouer, Pascal dit: << vous etes embarque >>. Le libertin recherche des plaisirs passionnels dans la vie. Ces actes de recherche sont deja des actes de pari, et c'est le desir qui les motive. Par consequent, leur objet recherche n'est point terrestre, mais il doit etre transcendant, c'est-a-dire, << une infinite de vie infiniment heureuse >> que nous assurerait l'existence de Dieu. C'est ainsi que notre desir est le desir de Dieu, c'est-a-dire, le desir de l'Autre. << Vous etes embarque >>, cela veut dire que la structure est deja fondee. L'essentiel du pari reside dans l'incertitude du gain ou de la perte. Pour autant que le pari reste terrestre, son objet vise lui aussi le sera, et le resultat sera etabli tot ou tard. Mais, quand il est joue autour de l'existence de Dieu, son objet sera transcendant, et on ne saura jamais si on est gagnant ou perdant: l'incertitude ici sera complete et definitive. Parier sur un Dieu dont on ne peut etre certain de son existence ni de sa nature, veut dire << agir en conformite avec son desir >>, le desir qui vient de la structure, le desir de l'Autre. Le Dieu de Pascal est par excellence structural.

An emergent ideology of love in Romeo and Juliet appears to have been central and centrally attacked in the controversy over a defiant daughter in a patriarchal society. Thus, a study of the ways in which Shakespeare deals with an integral part of the family, Juliet and her father, reveals, from one perspective that of how he employs the relationship of the father and the daughter he uses the father's redemption as negotiation of the father-daughter relationship and reconciliation between the feuding families, all of which mirror the social circumstances of the early modern society. From another perspective that of why he questions this kinship bond he employs the relationship among the family for the positive purposes of subversion, thereby again commenting on the social mores of the period. However, Shakespeare does not romanticize or idealize the father-daughter relationship. Rather, in such a relationship he creates a female subject for larger societal issues that inflamed his era. He presents this with those who form a homosocial bond with the heroine to interrogate gender, generational and familial issues, as well as the relationship of the society to the individual. Employing the strategy of Queer Theory, this paper reveals the fiction of forced heterosexual love in a patriarchal society, and then shows that the Nurse is a queer agent who serves as an internal director, manipulating and exerting control over Juliet, ranging frominfluencing the development of Juliet's sexuality to helping her depart from a traditional role as an obedient daughter. Her function and impact seem to be closely related to the qualities she possesses. Thus, the paper's primary focus is upon the role of the Nurse who affects cross-gender relationships for either good or ill.

血管内皮は,さまざまな生理活性因子を産生・分泌することによって,血管の収縮・拡張,細胞増殖,白血球接着阻止,血小板接着・凝集阻止などの抗炎症作用や凝固線溶系などの調節を行っている.血管内皮機能が障害されると,動脈硬化の初期病変が形成され,最終的には我が国の死因の第一位を占める動脈硬化性疾患(心筋梗塞,脳梗塞など)の発症につながると考えられる.この血管内皮機能をつかさどる分子の一つとして血管内皮型NO産生酵素(endothelial NO synthase: eNOS)が重要な働きをしていると考えられる.インスリンはこのeNOSをリン酸化し,活性化することによって血管内皮機能を調節していると考えられている.eNOS欠損マウスでは,血管内皮機能障害に加えて,インスリン負荷後の骨格筋の血流低下により,骨格筋のインスリン抵抗性を発症することが報告されている.さらに,血管内皮細胞がインスリンのバリアー機構として働き,インスリン抵抗性モデル動物では,特に骨格筋においてこのバリアー機構が破綻していることが報告されている.本項では,インスリンの血管内皮機能の調節,インスリン抵抗性発症における血管内皮の役割を中心に概説したい.<br>

A 12-year-old neutered male shih tzu developed progressive pelvic limb paraparesis. Computed tomography showed a radiolucent mass lesion in the spinal canal at the left side of the 11th thoracic vertebra. The mass was not enhanced by intravenous contrast medium injection. It was hyperintense on both T1- and T2-weighted magnetic resonance images. The signal intensity of the mass was decreased with a fat suppression technique, indicating a fatty origin. After removal of the mass via T11–T12 hemilaminectomy, chronic panniculitis was confirmed by histopathological examination. This case demonstrates the utility of computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging for the diagnosis of spinal canal pyogranulomatous inflammation.

近年の油脂結晶化技術の進歩について, 特にココアバター及びこれに関連したトリアシルグリセリン (TAG) 類について概観した。ココアバターの主要構成成分である, POP, POS, SOSの多形現象をココアバター多形と比較検討し, さらにこれらTAGの結晶化挙動の解析結果から, チョコレート製造におけるテンパリング工程で起こっている現象を考察した。また, 従来のテンパリング工程に変わる方法として, BOB (β<SUB>2</SUB>型) 油脂結晶粉末添加法とこれにより得られるブルーム防止法についてまとめた。さらに, OSOとSOSが等量で分子化合物を形成する特徴を利用し, チョコレート物性を大きく変化させる方法を紹介した。

To detect allergen-specific IgE in dogs with allergic diseases, we developed a recombinant canine high affinity IgE receptor α chain (FcεRIα)-based IgE detection system. Using the recombinant protein of canine FcεRIα expressed by an Escherichia coli expression system, we could detect house dust mite (Dermatophagoides farinae) allergen-specific IgE in sera from dogs naturally and experimentally sensitized to this allergen with ELISA and western blotting. The IgE binding activity of recombinant canine FcεRIα on ELISA was impaired by heat treatment of these sera. The specificity of this recombinant canine FcεRIα-based IgE detection system was confirmed by inhibition assays with canine IgE. The recombinant canine FcεRIα-based IgE detection system established in this study offers an alternative tool to measure allergen-specific IgE in dogs.

A full-length cDNA sequence of canine L-type amino acid transporter 1 (Lat1) was determined from a canine brain. The sequence was 1,828 bp long and was predicted to encode 485 amino acid polypeptides. The deduced amino acid sequence of canine Lat1 showed 93.2 and 91.1% similarities to those of humans and rats, respectively. Northern blot analysis detected Lat1 expression in the cerebellum at 4 kb, and Western blot analysis showed a single band at 40 kDa. RT-PCR analysis revealed a distinct expression of Lat1 in the pancreas and testis in addition to the cerebrum and cerebellum. Notably, Lat1 expression was observed in the tissues of thyroid cancer, melanoma and hemangiopericytoma. Although the cancer samples examined were not enough, Lat1 may serve as a useful biomarker of cancer cells in veterinary clinic.
