Numerical analysis of O3 depletions by exhaust plume from stratospheric flight at the altitude of 25km was conducted. Expanding box method was employed to simulate a diffusion of exhaust plume in the stratosphere. Concentrations of chemical species and normarized sensitivities of O3 concentration for reactions were estimated by fifth-order BDF method. Chemical kinetics include NOx, HOx and Ox chemistry. As results, it takes over two days that O3 concentration within a plume becomes ambient lebel within 1ppb. O3 perturbations were changed by an effect of plume-emission time, and they are bigger in daytime than in nighttime. Distributions of sensitivities of O3 concentrations for reactions are also changed for the plume-emission time. O3 depletion is greater by NOx than by HOx in exhaust plume.

症例は74歳女性.16年前に右拇指悪性黒色腫の切除術を受けていた.当科紹介1年前頭痛,ふらつきが出現.前医で右前頭葉と右肺中葉の腫瘤影を指摘された.症状改善と診断目的に当院脳神経外科で開頭腫瘍摘出術を施行.黒色腫脳転移と診断された.症状改善後気管支鏡検査でも同診断となり,当科受診した.肺転移切除で閉塞性肺炎が改善し転移巣全摘除と判断.外科的治療を選択した.胸腔鏡補助下右肺中下葉切除術およびND2a-2を施行.経過良好であったが,術後2ヵ月目急激な脳と気管気管支内腔の局所再発を来し,術後4ヵ月目に死亡した.脳と肺の転移に対する外科的治療は予後を改善し得なかったが,組織学的診断と症状改善の点で有効であった.同疾患既往がある場合,経過期間に関わらず転移再発を考慮すべきである.また転移再発に対する外科的治療の有効性と適応について,さらなる検討が必要である.

As for the nuclear fuel reprocessing of the spent fuel, although there was argument of pros and cons, it was decided to start Rokkasho reprocessing project further at the Japan Atomic Energy Commission of "Long-Term Program forResearch, Development and Utilization of Nuclear Energy" in year 2004. The operation of Tokai Reprocessing is goingsteadily to reprocess spent fuel more than 1, 100 tons.In this paper, history, present status and future of reprocessing technology is discussed focusing from military Puproduction, Magnox fuel reprocessing to oxide fuel reprocessing. Amount of reprocessed fuel are estimated based on fueltype.Then, history of reprocessing, US, UK, France, Germany, Russian, Belgian and Japan is presented and compared ontechnology, national character, development organization, environmental protection, and high active waste vitrification.Technical requirements are increased from Pu production fuel, Magnox fuel and oxide fuel mainly because of higherburnup.Reprocessing technology is synthetic of engineering and accumulation of operational experience. The lessonslearned from the operational experience of the world will be helpful for establishment of nuclear fuel reprocessing technology in Japan.

We investigated team medicine in emergency medical services by utilizing two distinctive research methodologies: human trajectories and conversation analysis. Our intention was to promote shared medicine within critical medical care and to foster the on-site education of medical students. We collected human trajectory data and conversational data during an actual medical procedure in an emergency room and then analyzed it with an analytical tool we developed that enable us to combine and analyze these different types of data simultaneously. In this paper, we describe the basic configuration of the software we developed and discuss how we applied it to the analysis of actual communication during the medical procedure.

現在のカメラは高度に自動化された機種が主流であり, いわゆるマニュアルカメラの入り込むスペースはほとんどないかに見える. しかしながら, 写真撮影の多様化に伴い, 自動化によって忘れ去られたものを見直そうとする気運もある. 本報では, 自動化時代におけるマニュアルカメラの存在意義について考察するとともに, ニコンFM3Aを開発した過程を振り返り, その企画化された背景と技術開発の詳細について報告する.

A novel hematology analyzer for small animal medicine, ProCyte Dx, was developed from combination of the fluorescence laser flow cytometry and laminar flow impedance technologies, and its accuracy was evaluated by comparing with the conventional impedance-based hematology analyzer, pocH-100iV Diff, or microscopic manual cell counting methods with staining blood smears in the canine blood. Blood samples of 59 dogs were hematologically analyzed and compared by Pearson’s correlation coefficients. Analyses between the two analyzers showed excellent correlation in RBC (r=0.998), HGB (r=0.999), HCT (r=0.998), MCV (r=0.994), MCH (r=0.974), MCHC (r=0.906), WBC (r=0.998) and PLT (r=0.993). Analyses between ProCyte Dx and microscopic manual counting results showed excellent correlation in neutrophils (r=0.920), lymphocytes (r=0.913) and reticulocyte percentages (r=0.924), good correlation in eosinophils (r=0.815) and reticulocyte numbers (r=0.850), and fair correlation in monocytes (r=0.770). The present study indicates that ProCyte Dx is acceptably accurate and can be a powerful tool for canine clinical medicine.

北大東島の礁性堆積物は,大東層と海軍棒層からなる.大東層は3つのユニットに区分される.ユニット1は主にframestoneよりなり,中央盆地に分布する.ユニット2はユニット1を不整合に覆い,2つのサブユニットから構成される.下位のサブユニット2aは,島外縁の環状丘陵地の主体をなし,主にframestoneよりなる礁芯相と,中央盆地縁辺部の急崖に露出しmdstoneの卓越する背礁相からなる.上位のサブユニット2bは,島の最高所付近に露出するframestoneとpackstoneからなる.ユニット3は東海岸に点在し,斜交層理の発達したoackstoneよりなり,下位層を不整合に覆う.海軍棒層は東海岸の標高10m以下に分布し,framestoneからなる.ユニット1は卓礁の堆積物である.サブユニット2a堆積時には,厚い環礁堆積物が形成されたが,その後,礁は著しく減退した.ユニット3堆積時,島の東部に浅瀬や造礁サンゴのパッチが広かった.海軍棒層は小規模な裾礁の堆積物である.

Recent overpopulation of the sika deer (Cervus nippon) in Hokkaido has resulted in expansion of their distribution from eastern to western parts of this island. To assess changes of genetic population structures of the Hokkaido sika deer, mitochondrial DNA control sequences (602 base-pairs) from 283 animals collected from central and western Hokkaido were analyzed. Based on transitional substitutions (A < - > G) at four nucleotide sites, five haplotypes were identified. One haplotype was newly found in the present study, and the other four haplotypes referred to those reported previously. The distribution patterns of haplotypes showed characteristic changes of genetic population structures, compared with the past distribution of haplotypes. In northern Hokkaido, for instance, the population around the Okhotsk Sea-coastal region has clearly expanded to the Japan Sea-coastal region. The population around the Ishikari-lowlands and the Hidaka mountains has increased within these areas, and it is not likely that the increase is directly caused by the immigration from eastern Hokkaido.

ICP-MS の半定量測定モードを用いて、ペットフードのトキシコメタローム解析を試みた。ペットフード中金属の半定量測定では、極めて濃度の低い元素を除き繰り返し再現性が比較的高かった。Li・Al・V・Mn・Co・Cu・As・Rb・Sr・Mo・Cd・Hg・Pb の 13 元素に関しては、添加回収率が 70%~120% であった。これら 13 元素で定量分析値に対する強い回帰が認められた。したがって、同時にこれら多数の金属測定が可能であることが示された。よって、ICP-MS の半定量分析は、金属によるペットフード汚染を防止する上で有効なスクリーニング手法となりうる可能性が示された。
