When glutinous rice (R) colored with the aqueous yellow extract (YE) of the Gardenia fruit (GF) was steamed, the color sometimes changed from yellow to green unexpectedly. The experiment was done to clarify the phenomenon of the greening.The greening occurred when R was steeped in YE at 30-40°C for 24 hours and then steamed, and no greening occurred at 20°C or below for 24 hours or at 30°C for 12 hours. The greening was weaker when the well-washed R was steamed, and stronger when R with addition of rice bran (RB) was steamed.Furthermore, an experiment of greening YE was carried out by using RB or its extract. The result showed that the greening did not occur when RB was heated previously. The greening was inhibited when silver ion was added. The green liquid obtained by this experiment had a maximal absorbance at 440and 590 nm in the visible range. We may conclude on the basis of this experiment that a green color consits of two kinds of color, namely, yellow and blue.The phenomenon of greening seems to indicate that iridoid glycoside (such as geniposide) contained in GF was liberated into iridoid compound (such as genipin) by the function of enzyme contained in R or RB. The phenomenon also revealed that iridoid compound turns into blue color when it was heated with amino acids.

アフィリエイト広告はソーシャルメディア上の広告の一種で,広告の挿入が消費者に権限委譲される。すなわち,Consumer Generated Advertising Mediaと呼べる。われわれはアフィリエイトを含むブロガーとアフィリエイト広告からの購入経験者を含むブログ読者に対するウェブ調査を実施した。その分析結果から,アフィリエイト広告は読者がブロガーのプロファイルを知るほど効果的だが,アフィリエイトは他のブロガー以上に匿名性を求めるといった「逆説」が見いだされた。こうした知見に基づき,ソーシャルメディア上での広告の可能性について議論したい。

より特異的な癌イメージングは、より正確な治療を可能にし、さらに超特異的癌治療は、癌に対しては強力でありながら、患者の体に対してはやさしい治療になりうるはずである。より良い癌の臨床を追い求める医学研究者として、さらなる「病気に厳しく、患者の体に優しい」方法の開発が、究極の目標である。この稿では、私たちの研究室で行ってきた特異性を重視した次世代のイメージング方法論、さらに造影薬剤作成と利用の基本理念と方向性を解説したい。加えて、次世代のイメージング技術の新たな進化形である、超特異的癌治療「近赤外光線癌治療」の開発理念と特徴、さらにそのさまざまな応用法についても触れたい。

本稿は「労働」と「格差」について, 政治哲学の立場からアプローチする. 現代社会において, 労働は生産力のみならず社会的なきずなをもたらし, さらに人々に自己実現の機会を与えている. 対するに格差は, 社会の構成員の間に不平等感や不公正感を生み出すことで, 社会の分断をもたらす危険性をもつ. このように労働と格差は, 正負の意味で政治哲学の重要なテーマであるが, これまでの政治哲学は必ずしも積極的に向き合ってこなかった. その理由を政治思想の歴史に探ると同時に, 現代において労働と格差の問題を積極的に論じている三人の政治哲学者の議論を比較する. この場合, メーダが, 政治哲学と経済学的思考を峻別するのに対し, ロールズは, ある程度, 経済学的思考も取り入れつつ, 独自の政治哲学を構想する. また, 現代社会が大きく労働に依存している現状に対しメーダが批判的であるのと比べ, ネグリのように, あくまで労働の場を通じて社会の変革を目指す政治哲学もある. 三者の比較の上に, 新たな労働と格差の政治哲学を展望する.This article focuses on the problem of labor and inequality from the perspective of political philosophy. In contemporary society, labor is important not only as a source of productivity, but also as a social relationship and an opportunity for self-realization. On the other hand, inequality divides the society by aggravating the sense unfairness among its members. This shows the importance of the theme of labor and inequality for political philosophy, but these two themes haven't been fully discussed by political philosophers. The article analyses the reason of their reluctance in the history of political thought. And by comparing three contemporary political philosophers, Dominique Méda, John Rawls and Antonio Negri, it considers the future possibility of political philosophy for the problem of labor and inequality.

To investigate the influence of the distribution of sea ice in the Sea of Okhotsk on the behavior of a severe snowstorm, which occurred in Hokkaido, Japan, on 2 March 2013 and which was associated with an explosive cyclone, three WRF simulations with realistic, reduced, and enhanced sea ice-cover were carried out. A comparison among these experiments reveals that the extent of the sea ice influenced low-level temperatures and winds to the rear of the cyclone center during the development of the explosive cyclone over the Sea of Okhotsk. Sea ice insulates the ocean from heat exchange with the atmosphere. As a result, when the Okhotsk sea ice extent reaches Hokkaido Island, cold air masses from the north traverse the island without first being heated by the ocean. The consequent temperature reduction produces a low-level higher pressure region to the rear of the cyclone center. As a result, a large geopotential gradient is generated just to the rear of the cyclone center, and low-level winds are intensified within this region. Therefore, the Okhotsk sea ice extent reaching Hokkaido Island plays a significant role in lowering temperatures and intensifying winds in the island.

Railway foot bridge at stations is one of the station structures for use of passengers. Although it is a universal railway structure in Japan, its historical development is poorly understood until now. This paper describes the history of railway foot bridges on the Tokaido Line based on historical records and drawings in the Meiji era. As the results of this survey, the diffusion process from large stations to local stations, and the standardization process in the end of the Meiji era have become clear.

Type 2 myocardial infarction (T2MI) refers to myocardial necrosis caused by an imbalance in myocardial oxygen supply and demand and in the absence of acute coronary thrombosis. Despite growing recognition of this entity, there remains little understanding of the pathophysiology and uncertainty over the diagnostic criteria for this subtype of MI. Alarmingly, recent studies suggest that a diagnosis of T2MI pertains a prognosis similar to, if not worse than, type 1 MI. With increasing clinical use of high-sensitivity cardiac troponin assays, the frequency of recognition of T2MI is expected to increase. Yet, there remains a scarcity of prospective studies examining this cohort of patients, let alone randomized clinical trials identifying optimum treatment strategies. Further evaluation of the prevalence, pathophysiology and management of this patient cohort is warranted by the scientific community.
