自然なヒューマン・マシン・インタフェースを目指して, われわれは視覚による顔の意味理解技術, および顔の表現技術の研究開発を進めている. この技術の応用例として, 似顔絵クリエーション技術を開発した. 開発したシステムではコンピュータビジョン技術を用いて様々な人種や顔・髪の種類に対してロバストに特徴抽出ができる. さらに, ファジィ推論による部品選択・部品配置・部品変形ルールから, 複数のイラストレータや漫画家などのタッチ(画風)で似顔絵を自動的に描画することができる. 本稿では似顔絵クリエーション技術の中で重要となる髪型認識の手法とイラストレータタッチの髪型を合成する手法について述べる. 具体的には, 髪領域抽出法, 髪型の特徴によるクラスタリングとテンプレートマッチングを併用した髪型部品の選択方法について述べる.

本論文では、小数の1/p(1&ltp≦∞)ベき乗計算を多項式の演算と除算で近似することに着目し、DSPにより効率的に演算できる高性能のコンプレッサ/リミッタの設計法について、まず、理想的な特性に最も近似な特性を求めるための、最小2乗法に基づくパラメータ算出アルゴリズムについて述べる。次に、DSPにより除算を実現するため、収束近似方法を使用し、近似誤差を小さくする方法について検討する。更に、ゲインの変化に従い、係数を切り替える処理によるアタック/リリース機能の実現方法について述べる。本論文で提案した設計法に基づいたコンプレッサ/リミッタの性能評価を行い、従来のアナログのコンプレッサ/リミッタに比較して、ほぼ同様な特性が得られると共に、出力信号の歪を約1/5に低減できることを明らかにしている。本論文によるコンプレッサ/リミッタは、DSP処理が約70ステップであり、コンパクトに構成できる。

This paper focuses upon Mies van der Robe's project for the competition of the Bismarck Monument in 1909-10 and its expression of perspective drawing or montage. Here we have reconstructed the plan of the monument and represented with the computer graphics method. Some characteristics of the ancient Basilica like plan, simplified ornament, colonnade and corner pier, horizontality and abstract design are picked up through the formal analysis during the reconstruction study. The characteristic dynamic composition in the perspective montage looking upwards on the base of romantic picture was verified through the experimental simulation study of composing Mies' base construction and Schinkel's imaginary cathedral in the picture of "Cathedral at the water". Then we have discussed Mies' inherent inclination to classicism and romanticism as a modernism architect.

本研究では,図書館での体験共有を促すために,ウェアラブルカメラにより撮影された,複数人の一人称視点映像を利用した図書館内の体験共有支援システムを提案する.本システムは,画像の特徴点を用い,一人称視点映像に写り込んだ本棚の判定を行う.写り込んだ本棚別に,一人称視点映像を合成することにより,本棚ごとの複数人体験映像を生成する.6 名に,図書館での一人称視点映像を撮影してもらい,その映像を用いシステムの動作実験を行った.その結果,複数人の身体が写り込んだ映像,本棚の前で本を読んでいる様子が写り込んだ映像,本棚を見渡すような映像が生成された.In this paper, I propose the system that assists of sharing the experiences in library using multiple person's view image taken by wearable camera. The system judges bookshelf by using feature points of image. Moreover, the system visualizes action that like choose book and read book by synthesize multiple person's view images. I develop the system, and I check the system behavior.

The purpose of study was to test validity of self-construal scales through an examination of differential item functioning (DIF) using multigroup mean and covariance structure (MG-MACS) analysis. The data analyzed were composed of 368 Japanese and 152 European Americans. A series of MG-MACS analyses was conducted on 6 items, which have displayed two-factor model of self-construal in the previous studies. As a result, no items demonstrated nonuniform DIF, though uniform DIF was detected on two items. Since the number of DIF items was small and partial factorial invariance was established, factor mean comparisons were conducted. Consistent with the theories of self-construal, Japanese participants were significantly higher on interdependent self-construal and were significantly lower on independent self-construal than the American counterparts. Based on the results of DIF analyses and factor mean comparisons, cross-cultural validity of self-construal scales was discussed.

When selecting capable personnel to man its Army and Navy, both of which were founded during the last years of that regime, the attribute known as "wazamae" 業前, meaning certain rare and desirable skills, was a key point for the Tokugawa Bakufu. Although there has been previous research on personnel selection, an analysis of the actual situation, particularly actual cases among the lower ranks, has been lacking due to limited historical materials. Furthermore, the situation of the Navy is not as well understood as that of the Army. Therefore, in this article, the author examines the actual conditions under which naval officers were appointed by utilizing the documents formerly stored in tamonyagura 多聞櫓 (the battlement enclosures) of Edo Castle. The article begins with an analysis of the changes that took place in the posts held by naval officers and the way in which appointments were made according to their social status. Methods differing from the norm were adopted in the case of lower ranking officers, putting great emphasis on "wazamae," regardless of individual social or family status and hereditary stipend. These methods made it possible for capable people to play important roles in the Navy, while minimizing changes in social status and expenditures. However, the Navy was not satisfied with these methods and attempted to grant social status and privileges appropriate to their officers' "wazamae" and assigned duties. Next, the author considers the ideas of both the Navy and the Bakufu's central authority during the Keio 慶応 era (1865-68) concerning "meshidashi" 召出 (lit. to summon; but also meaning to grant fiefs or stipends as reward for being taken into the service of the shogun) held by the sons and brothers of direct Bakufu retainers and indirect vassals (baishin 陪臣) demonstrating exceptional "wazamae". Despite the Navy's hope to employ their new personnel selection method, an obstacle existed based on the principle that the recipient of such a fief or stipend served the shogun as the head of a "family" in accordance with that family's status and hereditary stipend. Therefore, while the Navy continued to request that their officers receive meshidashi, the grants were controlled by the Bakufu's central authority, in particular, through restrictions against forming branches of direct retainer families. This occurred against a backdrop of the expansion of departments requiring "wazamae" and the establishment of shared precedents regarding appointments and promotions. Finally, the author takes up reforms in the naval officer personnel system carried out after the battle of Toba-Fushimi. Although the reforms were epoch-making in basing appointments upon "wazamae" rather than family status, the gap between the treatment of the heads of direct retainer families and that of other members was not easily bridged. Even after the reforms at the end of the Tokugawa period dismantled Japan's premodern military system, the warrior class continued to exist firmly upon the basis of the traditional "ie" 家 (family) institution.

Crystal structure of sugilite has been refined by the least squares method using 435 reflections measured on an automated single crystal diffractometer using MoKα radiation. The final unweighted R-factor is 0.047 for 429 reflections. The cell dimensions are: a=10.007(2), c=14.000(2)Å; space group P6⁄mcc. Sugilite is isostructural with milarite group minerals, and can be described as (K0.81Na0.19)[12] (H2O0.91Na0.64)2[9] (Fe3+1.32Na0.59Ti4+0.06Fe2+0.03)2[6] (Li2.12Al0.59Fe3+0.29)3[4]Si[4]12O30 with Z=2 by structure formula of milarite group defined by Forbes, Baur and Khan (1972). The SiO4 tetrahedra from hexagonal double rings with the composition Si12O30. These double rings are linked by Li, Al and Fe3+ atoms in tetrahedral four-coordination to form a tetrahedral frame structure. Na and H2O are located in nine-coordinated sites.
