<p>This paper examines the influence of foreign alliances on competitive advantage in the Japanese record industry prior to World War Ⅱ. In pre-war Japan, the main industry competitors were Nihon Chikuonki Shokai (NCS), Nihon Victor Chikuonki (NVC), Nihon Polidor Chikuonki (NPC), King Record (King), Teikoku Chikuonki (Teikoku), and Dainihon Chikuonki (Dainihon). NCS and NVC had alliances with companies in the United Kingdom and the United States, while NPC and King partnered with German record companies. In contrast, Teikoku and Dainihon remained purely Japanese companies, without foreign affiliations.</p><p>What benefits did the record companies receive from their foreign partnerships? And, how did the alliances influence the strategies of their counterparts?</p><p>As concerns Western music recordings, the companies with foreign alliances maintained a formidable competitive advantage throughout the pre-war period. On the other hand, for recordings of Japanese music, technological disparity between firms with foreign alliances and solely Japanese firms were essntially erased, and the latter rose to competiveness with the former, especially in the so-called "ryukoka" (Japanese popular songs) market. Thus, the foreign-allied-companies were forced to focus on Japanese music more than ever, this in turn accelerated the expansion of the Japanese music records market. In this context, foreign-partnered companies, such as NCS and NVC, made important contributions to "the golden age of ryukoka".</p><p>Until the beginning of the 1930s, the keys to competitive advantage in the Japanese record industry involved the introduction of new technologies and the sale of Western music records, based on alliances with foreign companies. After the mid-1930s, however, the capability to produce and sell records of Japanese music played a larger role in determining competitive advantage within the industry.</p>

In this article, I will focus on 97 singers whose biographies are recorded in Kitab al-Aghani, written by Abu al-Faraj al-Isfahani. The aim is to analyze the parent-child and teacher-student relationships between the singers and the way in which the singers were connected with the courts of the Umayyad and Abbasid dynasties. In the first chapter, I will analyze the 97 singers appearing in the book according to the periods during which they lived and the social status they had, with reference to a list of the singers. Subsequently, I will attempt to identify a large faction of professional singers existing among the 97 singers. In the second chapter, I will analyze how this large group of singers was connected with the courts of the Umayyad dynasty and the Abbasid dynasty. Through this analysis, I would like to make clear the social role the singers took on and also the cultural continuity between the Umayyad court and the Abbasid court. In the third chapter, I will focus on 100 Songs, that were selected from those sung in the Abbasid court. Those songs were applied by the author, Abu al-Faraj al-Isfahani, as the first criteria in selecting songs for Kitab al-Aghani. Here, it should be noted that 100 Songs includes lyrics written by singers whose individual biographies and anecdotes are not recorded in the book. A comparison between such "anonymous" singers and the large faction of major singers whose information is recorded in the book in detail will reveal the way in which people from the ninth century through the tenth century adopted and rejected information concerning the court.

Classification of facial images was done using the eigen-faces method, which is based on a method known as the principal component analysis.The average face images of 30 young females aged from 18 to 19 years were prepared, and individual face images were classified into 30 eigen-faces. Then 30 cropped faces of each subject were reconstructed using some of the 30 eigen-faces and the average face. The reconstructed facial images were evaluated as to whether or not they were similar to original facial images by 19 observers.As a result, estimation scores by observers correlated linearly with the number of eigen-faces. It was considered that the individual face was identified to the cropped face with at least 7 eigen-faces. Furthermore, subjects were classified into 5 groups by cluster analysis with eigen-faces.

症例は55歳の女性で, 近医にて腹部エコー検査, CTを施行され, 肝外側区域の嚢胞性腫瘤病変と診断された. 精査加療目的に当科紹介受診した. CT, MRIにて膵体部より頭側腹側に突出する2房性嚢胞性腫瘤を認めた. 膵粘液性嚢胞腫瘍の術前診断にて開腹した. 術中所見, 術中超音波検査にて悪性所見を認めず, 膵腫瘍摘出術・周囲のリンパ節pick upを施行した. 病理組織学的検査所見にて繊維化を伴った膵実質より連続する嚢胞を認めた. 嚢胞上皮下に乾酪壊死を伴った類上皮細胞からなる肉芽腫およびラングハンス巨細胞を認め, 孤立性膵結核と診断した. 摘出したリンパ節も同様の所見であった. 術後に抗結核剤の4剤併用療法を2か月間施行後, 2剤併用療法を1年間施行し, 現在再発は認めていない. 今回, 孤立性膵結核の1切除例を経験したので, 文献的考察を加え報告する.

This paper examines political aspects of valuation practice, setting a goal of ROE (Return on Equity)8% to achieve sustainable value creation for Japanese companies. After carefully analyzing the 2008 financial crisis, it was found that corporate governance reforms were implemented globally to overcome short-termism. The Japanese government also implemented corporate governance reforms, and METI (The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry) published the Ito Review in 2014 and set a ROE8% as a goal for sustainable value creation. However, instead of promoting sustainable value creation by Japanese companies, this led to actions that focused on shortterm results.

ポルフィリン類には、ヘモグロビンやクロロフィル、シアノコバラミン(ビタミンB12)などがある。これらの物質は、生命活動に必要不可欠な物質であることから、生徒が興味を持つ物質であることが考えられる。また、近年急速に発達する科学技術に、少しでも興味が持てる高校生を育成したいと考え研究を進めてきた。本研究では、高等学校でも容易に合成できるような合成方法の確立を目指し、実践授業を行うことを目的としている。ここでは、実験時間の短縮、より容易な実験器具が選定できた。

ビデオゲームとエージェント技術の典型的な接点はノンプレイヤーキャラクタである.そこで,本稿の前半ではAI的側面,すなわちキャラクタの動作生成について,後半では心理的側面,すなわちキャラクタのデザインについて述べる.キャラクタの動作生成は,インタラクティブなストーリーの生成と,移動・動作・対話などの行動の制御の2階層に分けられる.前半では各階層に関する既存研究を紹介する.キャラクタのデザインにおいては,キャラクタ間の社会的インタラクションやキャラクタの社会的アイデンティティを上手くデザインする必要がある.後半では心理学をベースにこれを議論する.

Semi-outdoor environment is defined as a grade of environmental control in thermal environmental planning, falling in between indoor and outdoor environment. Thermal adaptation of occupants, together with building and equipment, needs to be taken into account for planning such environment. Behavioral and psychological adaptation was found to be influential on thermal comfort, and context of thermal environment was found to be important to understand the adaptive process from literature review. Environmental context was categorized into social, architectural, and personal elements. A concept model of adaptive thermal comfort in semi-outdoor environment was proposed. Problems concerning application of existing thermal comfort standards were discussed. Adaptive comfort zone, not comfort temperature, needs to be investigated through field surveys considering the Japanese context such as geographical location, climate, degree of environmental control and general-purpose of the architectural space. Adaptive comfort zone needs to be presented together with the definition of environmental context.
