疑似科学を判定するための科学性の10条件を選定し、実際の項目に適用することでその有効性を確立してきた。また、それを応用した科学コミュニケーションサイト(http://www.sciencecomlabo.jp/)を運営し、その有効性を広く公表している。このサイトは運用1年で、訪問者15万人、50万ページビュー、コメント数500件以上を達成して、定評を確立している。この業績により科学技術社会論学会の実践賞を受賞した。

Many Chinese people moved to and lived in Japan during the Wan Li Era of Ming. Their reasons for going to Japan differed and they were involved in the Great War in East Asia regardless of their own attitudes at the mercy of the special period of Hideyoshi's invasions of Korea. Many Chinese people in Japan were incorporated as Japanese troops invading Korea and went into the battle against Korea and Ming as "Chinese troops of Japan." In this report, I'd like to consider the Chinese people who came to Japan during the Wan Li Era of Ming, especially those living in Japan on the eve of Hideyoshi's invasions of Korea and those incorporated as Japanese troops invading Korea after the war started.

Kitaro Nishida was a philosopher and a religious artist of the 19^<th>/20^<th> century. His was the first major philosophical work written in Japanese. This article describes Nishida's thoughts (his religious Faith, logical Theory and Practice of the Agape or the Kenosis as the Fundamental Chola), influences on later generations and his continuing relevance in modern times (Masaya Odagaki, Isao Onodera, and Seiichi Yagi). Odagaki, Onodera, and Yagi's understanding of the Holy Spirit is the Life-Contextial Pneumatology. This perspective is a new theory in traditional Occidental philosophy and theology. But this perspective doesn't have personalistic aspects. Then, the Greek Father St. Gregory of Nyssa was a theologian and philosopher of the 4^<th> century. His was the first major work written in language of the Agape. This article describes Gregory'thoughts (his Faith, logical Theory and Practice of the Agape as Kalon or the Truth-Good-Beauty), influences on later generations and his continuing relevance in modern times (Hisao Miyamoto). Gregory and Miyamoto's understanding of the Holy Spirit is the Kenosis as the Fundamental Chola of the Personalistic Pneumatology and the Life-Contextual Pneumatology. When we understand the Holy Spirit, we never forget the view point of the Kenotic Pneuma.

Nitrite reductase is a key enzyme for denitrification. There are two types of nitrite reductases: copper-containing NirK and cytochrome cd1-containing NirS. Most denitrifiers possess either nirK or nirS, although a few strains been reported to possess both genes. We herein report the presence of nirK and nirS in the soil-denitrifying bacterium Bradyrhizobium sp. strain TSA1T. Both nirK and nirS were identified and actively transcribed under denitrification conditions. Based on physiological, chemotaxonomic, and genomic properties, strain TSA1T (=JCM 18858T=KCTC 62391T) represents a novel species within the genus Bradyrhizobium, for which we propose the name Bradyrhizobium nitroreducens sp. nov.

9月14日早朝に全日本空輸で起こったトラブルは、日付処理の怖さをあらためて印象づけた。今年2月29日にはうるう年を正しく認識しないトラブルが多発した。今後も危険日は次々とやってくる。サマータイム制度の導入も議論されている。開発と運用の両面で、日付や時刻が適切に処理されているかチェックが必要だ。

本研究は、ハミルトン・エリスによる鉄道客車デザインの発展史「NINETEENTH CENTURY RAILWAY CARRIAGES」における叙述を分析対象とする言説分析の試みである。分析対象に比較的多く記される事物の終焉時期を記す解説文に着目し、これらの解説文を記すことが分析対象に何をもたらしているかを考察する。分析では、はじめにこれらの解説文を記すことが発展史として妥当であるか検証する。次にこれらの解説文がデザイン史学において有用であるか考察する。分析には統計学および精神分析学の知見を援用した。統計学の知見を援用する分析からは、事物の終焉時期を記す解説文が分析対象の発展史としての妥当性を損なっていないことが分かった。精神分析学の知見を援用する分析からは、事物の終焉時期を記す解説文の中に、因果関係の説明に客観性をもたらそうとする有用な解説文があることが分かった。これらの分析結果は、事物の終焉時期を記すことの有用性が、デザイン史学の領野において展開できる可能性を示している。

人工物は様々な形で進化してきたし、今後も進化すると考えられるが、その過程において重要なのは意味性、すなわち、当該人工物が目標達成にとって有意味であるかどうかという基準である。その有意味性を確立する上で、客観的品質特性と主観的品質特性の双方が重要な役割を果たすが、特に主観的品質特性において審美性は重要な要素といえる。本論では後半、審美性という品質特性に焦点をあて、人工物のなかでも食具、さらには箸の取り扱い方に注目し、その進化のプロセスにおける審美性の在り方について論じた。
