2006年のハワイ訪問者数は約756万人と高い水準にあるが,このような成長の要因としては(1)最適な気候(平均気温夏季23〜31度,冬季14〜27度の温暖性,貿易風による快適性)(2)マーケット(需要)の特性,(3)観光インフラ(空港能力と航空路線,宿泊施設容量と質,商業施設,観光スポット充実)(4)プロモーション活動の推進及びその結果としての認知度の向上・定着等が考えられる。ハワイを成熟マーケットとして位置づけ,日・米マーケットを比較しながら現在の現状と課題を明らかにし,これからのハワイツーリズムのあり方を多方面から検討を試みた。

中世の日本文学において、死、そして救済はどのように捉えられていたのかを世阿弥(生没年一三六三?〜一四四三?)作の能「鵺」を通じて考えた。中世文学における「救済」は、仏教的意味での「往生」として表される。つまり「六道輪廻」という苦しみから抜け出る方策が、「往生」である。世阿弥の時代前後の「修羅能」では、終末部に弔いを頼み、成仏を願う様が描かれる一方で、「鵺」では成仏が約束されてはいない。これは、「鵺」という畜生道の存在が影響していると考察し、作者の世阿弥は、成仏の困難さを描くことで、より観客へ訴える能をつくっていったと結論づけた。 In Japanese literature of the Middle Ages, how was death and its relief represented? I thought through a Noh-play "Nue" by Zeami (1363? ~1443?). In medieval literature is expressed as "Ojo" in the meaning of Buddhism. "Ojo" is a way of getting away from the pains known as the "transmigration in the six worlds." Entering Nirvana is not promised in "Nue", but I ask for a postlude to mourning with "Shura- Noh" in the times of Zeami, and I describe a state of hope of entering Nirvana. I conseder the influence of the "Hell of Beasts" on "Nue" and conseder that this gave Zeami a stranger means of appealing to audiences by showing the difficulties of entering Nirvana.

Toward the improvement of performance of the electric vehicle (EV), the design of the motor shape appropriate to heat removal is important. A typical EV motor is composed of a pair of coaxial cylinders with a fixed outer cylinder (stator) and a rotating inner cylinder (rotor). Some EV motors have axial slits on the stator wall. The present study numerically clarifies the physical mechanism of difference of Nusselt number between the case with slit and without slit. The heat transfer of the gap between the rotor and stator was obtained by the numerical calculation. A vortex structure observed by flow visualization experiment was reproduced in the numerical simulation, and velocity profiles showed good agreement with experimental data. The heat transfer rate for the case with slit in the high rotational speed was increased compared with that for the case without slit. Nusselt number was decomposed into the three terms which were the advection, turbulent transport and diffusion terms; the advection term of heat flux for the case with slit was increased compared with that for the case without slit because of the vortex structure. The Nusselt number on the slit surface was increased compared with that on the gap surface for the case with slit. It was implied that the difference of Nusselt number between the case with slit and without slit was caused by the presence of the vortex structure in the slit and the increase of heat flux for the case with slit.

Eugenol など数種の芳香性物質を用いてコガネムシ類成虫に対する誘引性を検討したところ, Eugenol, Geraniol 及び Anethol の等量混合物はコアオハナムグリなど多くのコガネムシ類に誘引性を示した。また, Eugenol と Geraniol の等量混合物はマメコガネに, Eugenol 及びその混合物はシロテンハナムグリに対して, それぞれ強い誘引性を示した。

生と死が不可分なものであるように、生成と崩壊もまた不可分である。両者を貫く論理を探るためには、emergenceと共にcollapseを論じる必要がある。本講演ではこの問題を貨幣のモデルを通じて論じる。このモデルにおいて、制約された合理性を持つ主体が利己的に行動することで、交換のただなかに貨幣が自成する。しかしその貨幣は、それを産み出したのと同じ主体の利己的行動によって自壊する。すなわち、経済空間に形成される構造たる貨幣が、同じ一つの論理によって発生し、消滅することが示される。

動物実験を用いない代替法については,遺伝毒性・内分泌かく乱・局所毒性試験のin vitro試験法の開発が一段落し,化学物質,農薬,医薬品および化粧品の安全性評価において行政的な利用が進んでいる.日本も経済協力開発機構(OECD:Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development)等における試験法開発で貢献してきた.世界の潮流は全身毒性(反復投与毒性,発がん性,免疫毒性,生殖毒性等)代替法の開発に向かっている.特に生理学的薬物動態PBPK(physiologically based pharmacokinetic)モデル,トキシコキネティクスの開発が盛んである.日本においても全身毒性試験のin vitro試験法,in silicoの利用検討が始まった.

A diagnosis of ventricular septal defect (VSD) was made tentatively in a male rabbit 18 months of age of the Japanese White mixed breed weighing 1. 3 kg. It was based on the results of physical and hematological examinations, radiography, electrocardiography, and phonocardiography. Unfortunately, the animal died after suffering from a defect in left heart angiocardiography. Necropsy revealed that the animal had the membraneous type of VSD.
