This volume presents a comprehensive discussion of the major topics and concepts of phonetics. The main body of the book falls into two parts, General Phonetics and English Phonetics, which are subdivided into ten and seven chapters respectively. At the beginning of the second part, the author provides a well-balanced introduction to regional and social varieties of English. The best merit of the present work lies in the fact that the author undertakes a very appropriate attempt to include several chapters on Japanese phonetics. On the whole, this book makes clear and informative reading for those generally interested in general and English phonetics as well as those interested in Japanese phonetics.

Recently in Japan, due to the increased prices of palladium and gold, cast titanium restorations have been included in the Japanese national health insurance system. The purpose of this review was to survey the available literature on titanium bonding systems, focusing on the adhesive monomer in the luting agent in order to expand the application of resin-bonded fixed prostheses made of titanium or titanium alloys. It was found that adhesive monomers are effective for bonding to titanium, and provide results equal to the procedures of silanization and tribochemical silica coating. A primer or a luting agent, including 10-methacryloyloxydecyl dihydrogen phosphate (MDP), methacryloyloxyalkyl thiophosphate derivative (MEPS), 6-methacryloxyhexyl phosphonoacetate (6-MHPA), and 4-methacryloyloxyethl trimellitate anhydride (4-META) promotes bonding characteristics between titanium and the resin material.

Purpose: To clarify the effect of a multi-purpose primer combining several functional monomers on two prosthodontic materials (cast titanium and a gold alloy) after airborne-particle abrasion.Methods: Disk-shaped adherends were prepared from cast titanium (CP Titanium JIS2) and a gold alloy (Casting Gold M.C. Type IV). A silane-containing two-liquid primer (M&C primer (MC)) and two silane-free single-liquid primers (Alloy Primer (AP) and V-Primer (VP)) were used as surface-treatment agents. The shear bond strengths were determined before and after thermocycling to evaluate the adhesive durability, and the results were compared using a non-parametric statistical analysis. The effect of airborne-particle abrasion with alumina on the titanium surface was analyzed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS).Results: There was no significant difference in bond strength between the MC and AP before and after thermocycling, whereas VP showed significantly lower values. XPS revealed that the titanium acquired hydrophilic properties after the airborne-particle abrasion.Conclusions: The novelty of this study is that it shows that the presence/absence of the silane had no effect on the bonding of cast titanium with an acrylic resin. The study also showed that the multi-purpose primer can be used without any problems with both cast titanium and gold alloy, in combination with airborne-particle abrasion with alumina.

レセプトデータベースを用いて2020年の集簇性痤瘡の患者数と患者背景,診療科,処方薬について調査した.分析対象者8,521,265人中,集簇性痤瘡患者は2,726人で,有病率0.032%,本邦の推計患者数は29,171人であった.内服抗菌薬の処方は72.3%,うち年間91日以上が10.3%であった.一方,外用抗菌薬の処方は70.4%で,うち年間101 g以上が6.3%であった.診療科は一般外科が19.5%であった.治療に難渋し,抗菌薬の長期投与や外科的処置が行われている現状が示唆された.

慢性腎臓病は,腎機能が徐々に低下し末期腎不全に進行するため,食事療法は一生涯を通じて行う必要があり, たんぱく質や塩分,カリウム,リンの制限など多くの配慮を伴う. 慢性腎臓病患者のハレの食事に焦点を当て,療養食の可能性を模索し,患者のQOL向上を目的として行った. 食事は,慢性腎臓病食との互換性が見込まれ,ハレの日の食事に適した非日常を演出するために「イタリアコー ス料理」とした. 献立はエネルギーとたんぱく質,塩分を調整した3種類とし,試作および試食後のアンケートを実施した. 試作したコース料理は,献立全体の味付け,量,料理の組み合わせ,演出性のそれぞれの観点から高い評価を得 られた.また,栄養価に関しては予定通りのエネルギー量とたんぱく質量を達成できた. 慢性腎臓病食とイタリアコース料理との互換性を示すことができ,また,コース料理の形式を採用することで, 制限による量の少なさを感じにくくすることが満足感に寄与していると考えられる. 今回の結果をもとに,今後はより種類豊富な献立の開発を行い,より多くの疾患を持つ人に適応するコース料理 として開発を進めていきたい.

We present a user interface system “RapTapBath” that converts an existing bathtub into various controllers by tapping locations, tones and patterns with their tap sounds on a bathtub edge. This system utilizes embedded piezoelectric sensors in a bathtub edge to analyze acoustic signals of tap sounds, and also a projector installed above the tub to project menus on the edge. Tap locations are detected by differences in signal arrival times of plural sensors. Tap tones are identified by spectrum patterns with neural-network technique. Tap patterns are detected by tapping timings with their probability calculations in a fixed time. This paper describes the system overview of RapTapBath, and each of the tapping user interface events, their specific detection methods by signal processing techniques, and also their performance evaluations. We also give effective applications for spending bathing time using this system. Finally, discussions of the limitations of current tap UI events and the point of view of interaction design with RapTapBath are described.

【目的】筋疲労に伴う位置覚低下に対するキネシオテープ(Kinesio Tape, KT)の効果を,伸張率を変えて検討することである。【方法】対象を健常大学生29名53脚とし,KTを貼付する高伸張群と低伸張群,KTを貼付しないコントロール群に無作為に振り分けた上で疲労課題の前後で膝関節の位置覚測定を行った。測定方法は,開始肢位を端座位とし,膝関節を設定した角度まで他動伸展させた後,自動伸展により再現させ,誤差を求めた。疲労課題はBIODEXを使用し,120deg/sec,膝屈曲90~15°の範囲で等速性膝伸展運動を50回行わせた。統計はKTを貼付しないコントロール群,低伸張群,高伸張群で 30°・60°についての疲労前と疲労後の再現角度誤差を,Tukey-Kramer法にて比較した。【結果】膝屈曲 60°では全群で疲労後の再現角度誤差が有意に大きくなった(p<0.05)。各群間では再現角度誤差に有意差は認められなかった。【結論】位置覚が筋疲労により低下することが示唆された。また,本研究ではKT貼付の有無や,KTの伸張率の違いによる位置覚への影響は貼付直後でも運動後でも認められなかった。

落語の口演,稽古,鑑賞の体験が演者にもたらす影響を調査し,社会人落語家における対人ストレスユーモア対処およびユーモアスタイルの程度を調べ,落語経験との関連も調べた。24名の社会人落語家(男性16名,女性6名,その他の回答2名,平均年齢59歳)が調査に回答した。調査では落語経験(落語口演歴,持ちネタの数,1年のうち高座に上がる平均的な回数,落語鑑賞歴など),落語を演じる影響,落語の稽古を重ねる影響,落語鑑賞の影響(いずれも自由記述),対人ストレスユーモア対処尺度(桾本・山崎,2010),日本語版ユーモアスタイル質問紙(吉田,2012)へ回答を求めた。落語を演じる影響は,人前で話す行為への影響が最も多く,ついで対人関係への影響だった。落語の稽古の影響は,「自分の特徴,性格,資質への気付き」が最も多かった。落語鑑賞の影響は,「興味・理解の深まり」が最も多かった。高座に上がる回数が多い人ほど,鑑賞歴が長い人ほど対人ストレスユーモア対処尺度得点が低い傾向があった。ユーモアスタイルに関しては,落語口演歴が長い人ほど,自虐的なユーモアの程度が低く,自己高揚的なユーモアも低い傾向がみられた。
