[Purpose] To determine the efficacy of high intensity laser therapy (HILT) versus pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) in the treatment of primary dysmenorrhea. [Subjects and Methods] This was a randomized clinical trial that included 52 girls diagnosed with primary dysmenorrhea and who were assigned randomly into two groups of equal numbers. The treatment was three sessions every cycle for three consecutive cycles where group (A) included those participants treated with HILT 15 min/session and group (B) those who were treated with PEMF 30 min/session. All patients were evaluated before starting the treatment as well as after the end of treatment by present pain intensity scale and the prostaglandin level in blood and pain relief scale at the end of treatment for both groups. [Results] The results showed a significant decrease in the severity of pain, statistically significant decrease in prostaglandin level in blood, and a statistically significant pain alleviation in both groups. With comparison between both groups there was a statistically significant decrease in the severity of pain, significant decrease in the blood levels of PGF2α, in group (A) than group (B). [Conclusion] Both HILT and PEMF are effective in the treatment of primary dysmenorrhea with HILT being superior to PEMF.

Ikedosoma elegans (Ikeda, 1904) (Annelida: Echiura: Thalassematidae) is a rare, large deep-burrowing spoon worm that has been observed only in Japan. This species was first described based on the specimens collected from Misaki, Sagami Bay (Kanagawa Prefecture), eastern Japan, in 1902. Since the first description, this species has not been collected until the recent studies, which reported that I. elegans was collected from Hamana Lake (Shizuoka Prefecture), Boso Peninsula (Chiba Prefecture), and probably Amakusa, Ariake Sea (Kumamoto Prefecture). Furthermore, the specimen collected from Takasu, Seto Inland Sea (Okayama Prefecture) in 1975 was identified to be I. elegans. In this study, we present a new locality of this species in Japan. We collected a large individual of I. elegans with a probably commensal scale worm (Polynoidae: Polynoinae) by using a yabby pump in a mud flat in the Doki River Estuary, which is facing the Seto Inland Sea, in Marugame (Kagawa Prefecture), northern Shikoku Island. To the best of our knowledge, the present study is the first record of I. elegans from Shikoku Island and the second record from the Seto Inland Sea, following a 42-year-old record from Takasu, Okayama.

アルミホイルから各種食品擬似溶媒へのアルミニウム溶出について検討したところ, 溶媒により溶出挙動は大きく異なった. 水への溶出は少なく, 水道水では超純水よりわずかに高かった. 4%酢酸及び0.5%クエン酸溶液では, 水道水の25~200倍であった. また,4%酢酸へは0.5%クエン酸溶液の2倍以上の溶出量であった. 酸性溶媒への溶出は温度及び時間に相関して増加した. 一方, アルカリ性溶媒への溶出は, 2時間以内に急激に増加し, その後はほぼ一定の状態となった. 市販アルミ箔製品10種類の溶出調査を行ったところ, 95℃30分で超純水への溶出は0.1-0.2μg/cm2, 0.5%クエン酸溶液では4.4-14.6μg/cm2, 4%酢酸では24.4-37.6μg/cm2であった.

病者が健康食品を摂取している状況から,健康食品と医薬品の併用による有害事象の発生が懸念されている.そこで過去の有害事象を症状の重篤度と医薬品の薬効の視点で分析し,注目すべき事項を検討した.事例は,『健康食品』の安全性・有効性情報(HFNet)の収載論文64報,その中の患者71名を対象とした.その結果,症状としては肝障害,医薬品としては抗てんかん剤,抗悪性腫瘍剤,不整脈用剤,血液凝固阻止剤等のハイリスク薬が,健康食品と医薬品の相互作用において注目すべき事項であることが明らかとなった.また,論文中の健康食品の素材・成分に関する情報が曖昧で不十分な点が,相互作用の影響を検討する際の障害となることが示唆された.

海外の健康食品をインターネットで購入できる状況において,健康被害を未然に防止するには,国内だけでなく海外の被害情報を把握することが重要である.「健康食品」の安全性・有効性情報サイトでは,国内外の行政機関から発信された健康食品の注意喚起情報を収集・掲載している.今回,2010から2016年に収集した2,124件の注意喚起情報の特徴を分析した.製品の特徴として,医薬品成分混入が85%を占め,性機能改善および痩身を標榜した製品が68%を占めた.多くは買上調査や自主回収情報であったが,健康被害事例も181件含まれ,痩身および疾病治療を目的とした利用で被害が多く見られた.日本国内では,10~30代女性,痩身目的の利用,インターネットでの購入という特徴が認められた.これらの特徴を,健康被害の未然防止のための適切な情報提供に役立てる.

戦後日本国内で、外国の理工学図書の海賊版が作られ、広く使われていた。1980年代には姿を消した。広く流布していたにもかかわらず、その非合法性から実態が記録されることはなかった。本研究では、新聞記事等の文献、実際にそれらに接した研究者からの聞き取り、実物を入手しての原本との比較の三つの面から、物理的特徴、原本入手から、発注、印刷、頒布までの作成・流通過程等の実態を明らかにした。

大学進学行動の地域格差の規定要因について,北海道の市町村データを用い経済的観点から分析を行った.本稿での条件では,(1)地域の所得や学歴は男性の大学進学行動へ影響を及ぼし,その影響は1年前よりも3年前の方が大きい,(2)地域産業の影響も大きい,(3)経済的要因以外に,大学等進学率が上がりにくい地域特有の要因があることが示唆された.

前回の東北学院大学では、ニュウトンの万有引力の法則の分母の半径、rをゼロにしても、Fは無限大にならないことを説明した。すなわち、測地線が無限大になるのである。そこまでは、時間の制限で語れなかったので、今回説明する。

日本の戦後社会福祉理論は、社会福祉を社会政策との関係から説明する「補充論」に特徴があった。この場合の社会政策とは大河内一男のマルクス主義的な社会政策論であり、労働力の保全策、言い換えれば労働力の「商品化」政策であり、経済政策と同定される社会政策であった。それは正義や自由の問題を形而上学=非科学として排除するものであった。しかし、今日の社会福祉のテキストでは、「補充論」と併記して、エスピン・アンデルセンの福祉レジームとその指標としての「脱商品化」や、ロールズやセンによる自由の正義論が紹介されている。そこで本論文は、「商品化」論と「脱商品化」論の関係は如何に把握されるべきかを以下のように論じた。すなわち、正義と自由の概念との関係で社会福祉が論じられる背景を正義論の歴史的系譜として説明し(1章)、戦後日本の社会福祉理論形成において正義と自由が何故排除されたかを歴史的文脈から説明し(2章)、戦後日本の社会福祉展開において「脱商品化」論は如何に受容されてきたか、またされるべきかを論じた(3章)。

Many empirical studies have indicated a possible relationship between psychopathic traits and immoral behaviors. Conversely, some studies suggest that social support from a person’s family moderates this relationship. This study examined the moderating effect of family, friend, or romantic partner support on the relationship of psychopathic traits with immoral intentions and behaviors. A total of 486 college students completed the questionnaire. The results indicated that insufficient family support promotes immoral financial behaviors among students with strong psychopathic traits, which is consistent with previous studies. However, excessive support from family, friend, or a romantic partner promotes interpersonal immoral behaviors among students with strong psychopathic traits. These findings suggest that social support moderates the relationship between immoral behaviors and psychopathic traits. The results also suggest that an appropriate level of family support without excessive interference or overprotection as well as appropriate social support from a friend or romantic partner are essential to regulate the effect of psychopathic traits on immoral behaviors.
