フィールドサーバは,野外における情報収集,灌水等の制御,センサ等新デバイスの実験を行うためのセンサネットワーク用プラットフォームである.そのためには多機能かつ十分な拡張性を備えると同時に,機械作業や栽培ステージに応じて手軽に移設でき作業者等の安全性にも配慮したオールインワン化及びワンユニット化が必要とされる.また,半導体技術の進歩やCPU等LSIの世代交代にあわせてハードウェア及びファームウェアの更新と機能向上を迅速に行う必要がある.ところが,大量生産ができない段階では低コスト化と高機能化を両立させることは困難であり,しかもそのような初期段階においては低コストで高機能な試用機がないとアプリケーション開発ができず市場が拡大しないというジレンマがある.これらの問題を解決するための制作手法としてオープンソース・ハードウェアを用いる方法を考案し,オープンソースのフィールドサーバ(Open-FS)を開発した.さらに,Open-FSを用いて測定したデータを低コストに収集・閲覧・共有するための方法として,既存のクラウドサービス(Twitter等)とHTML5で記述した閲覧用ソフトウェアからなる"センサクラウド・システム"を提案し,試作及びインドと日本における長期現地実験によってその有効性を評価した.<br>

近年,良質な睡眠を得るための睡眠環境に関する研究が多く報告されている.しかしながら,起床環境に関する研究はあまり報告されていない.本研究は快適な起床環境の構築を目的とし,前段階として被験者6人に対して起床音圧の差異(60dB or 80dB)が起床状態に与える影響を調査した.生体に対する影響について覚醒度:AAC,交感神経活動:LF/HF唾液中クロモグラニンA,活動性と気分の状態:GVA作業能率:作業能率課題解答率を用いて評価した.結果は低音圧(60dB)において覚醒度,括動度が高く交感神経活動が優位であり,高音圧(80dB)では気分が良い傾向が示された.

本稿では、ウルトラマンというポピュラー文化を沖縄で読む試みを文芸批評的にではなく、オーディエンス論から考察する。テレビ番組などの視聴体験は、社会的なアイデンティティの差異によって異なる読みが生み出される可能性が指摘されているが、ウルトラマンは、それにかかわった沖縄出身者との関係から、読むという実践をアイデンティティを強化しながらおこなうことを可能にする素材となる。その事例分析として、沖縄にてウルトラマンを読むことを素材にしたフォーカス・グループ・インタビューによる調査を行った。その結果、沖縄出身か否かで読みの差異がみられたことが観察できたが、その差異は従来のオーディエンス論調査の事例とはまた異なり、社会的カテゴリーよりも社会的境遇による共感を重視したものであった。

2005年に北海道の知床半島が世界自然遺産に設録された。今回の登録は、登録地が住民の生活域を含む点においても注目されており、隣接する斜里町(人口約13,000人)と羅臼町(約6,500人)では、自宅の裏庭が自然遺産という状況も珍しくない。なかには個人や町の所有地も含まれる。登録に際しては、登録地周辺も含めた地域住民の日常生活に対する配慮が不可欠とされているだけでなく、当該自然環境での生活知識をもつ住民が自らの生活を通じて自然保護などの啓蒙普及の役割を担うこと、さらにはエコツーリズム等に必要なガイドの育成が推奨されている。登録に際し、住民の意識調査が実施され、観光に対する期待や観光客増加による環境・生活への影響についてアンケート結果が報告されているが、自然とかかわる日常的な活動や場所には注目しておらず、住民の自然に関する知識や経験、大切にしている場所の理解を通してそれらを活かす方法を検討する必要がある。図-1に見るように、斜里町と羅臼町は、東西わずか30km弱の距離にあるが、半島を南北に走る知床連山に隔てられ、知床横断道路が開通する近年まで互いに往来が少なく、世界自然遺産登録に際しての住民の反応や観光地化に対する意識が異なるという声がよく聞かれる。最近では、両地域とも登録域における漁業をはじめ、山歩きや山菜取りなどの自然と関わる生活行動が制限されるのではないかといった懸念の声が共通している。本研究は、世界自然遺産・知床の登録地内およびその周辺地域における、住民の自然とのかかわり方、および居住地に対する誇りの意識を明らかにし、地域資源の再発見という視点から今後の観光のあり方について考察することを目的とする。

宮城先生は本年84才, 2年前702頁におよぶ御労作 〈八重山生活誌〉 を自費で出版され, 八重山の人々が伝承してきた行事や明治・大正・昭和にわたって先生自ら体験されてこられたことどもを集大成するお仕事を完成された。先生は太平洋をかこむ国々に, 原料はことなるとはいえ, われわれの祖先が醸み伝えてきた口かみの酒づくりを自ら体験された数まれな方でもある。特に本誌がお願いして, お孫さんに口伝されて寄せられた手記をここに掲載させていただいた。

The author of the fourth Gospel is named John and understands Jesus Christ as the Logos. The Logos means the Word of God. John's Christology is called Christology of the Logos. Jesus is not so much a prophet who communicates to people the Word of God as the Word of God itself. Jesus, the Logos exists with God (Father) from the eternal beginning, and has the divine nature. Christian God is God of the Trinity who has three persons (personae), the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Jesus, the Son and Logos was sent from the Father to the world, and born as a human being (John 1: 14, 18). This event is named the incarnation of the Logos. The glory of God approached more nearly to us through Jesus who was the incarnated Logos, and could move with Jesus' flesh. The existence of God became more familiar to people in the New Testament than in the Old Testament. We can be formed as the form of Christ and have the divine nature through Christ's person.

イングランドでは地方エリア協約(LAA)が2007年から実施に入っている。本稿は中央-地方関係の視点からLAAの構造,「より健康なコミュニティと高齢者」,ハックニーとニューアムのLAAを考察している。そこではナショナル-リージョナル-ローカルのマルチレベルのガバナンスが貫かれ,地方自治体には信賞必罰の形態がとられ,健康の不平等対策の優先順位は低い。中央政府と近隣地域との間に位置するリージョンが重要になると思われる。

Sleep is very important to keep our physical condition healthy. Many studies have been devoted to clarify the mechanism of sleep and to monitor the sleep all night. In this study, we paid attention to heart activity during sleep and have developed a nonrestraint monitoring method of heart activity using an acceleration sensor set inside the coverlet. This method is easy for the use of sleep monitoring at home in daily life. An acceleration sensor was set inside the coverlet as it opposing to subject's left chest. Subjects were asked to lie in supine position and the coverlet with an acceleration sensor was put on the subject. Mechanical vibration from heart activity expected to be carried to the acceleration sensor through the coverlet. As a result, periodic vibration was measured successfully and this vibration was proved to be in high correlation with the R wave of ECG in six subjects. The same results were obtained even in case of lying in right and left lateral decubitus position.

It was reported by the author that a system named "ADL fiinger strain-gauge system" is useful for kinesiological analysis of fine finger activities included in usual ADL items and that this system was used for analysis of writing activities. At that study, several results were obtained about handwriting activities. Similar study were also obtained in feeding and scissoring activities. The study of feeding activities revealed that; 1. The pressure between each of 3 fingers and the tea-spoon is 51g on an average. 2. This pressure is about 1/1000 of total hand pressure, 1/200 of pinch-pressure between the thumb and index finger, 1/5 of total writing pressure, and 1/2.5 of finger-pressure during handwriting. 3. Minimum pressure for spooning is about 23 g on an average. 4. Maximum pressure for spooning is about 100 g on an average. 5. Chop-stick activities was also investigated, but the present method of investigation was found inadequate for this purpose. 6. and some others. In the study of scissoring activities, western type scissors and Japanese ones were compared and similar results with those of feeding activities were obtained.

Background: Aging is associated with adverse outcomes in patients with cardiac diseases. Whether elderly patients hospitalized with heart failure (HF) had increased risks for mortality and rehospitalization compared with younger patients during the long-term follow-up was examined. The predictors of these adverse outcomes were also identified. Methods and Results: The Japanese Cardiac Registry of Heart Failure in Cardiology (JCARE-CARD) studied prospectively the characteristics and treatments in a broad sample of 2,675 patients hospitalized with worsening HF and the outcomes were followed up. The majority of elderly patients were female, had lower body mass index (BMI), a higher rate of ischemic, valvular, and hypertensive heart disease as etiologies of HF, a lower estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), lower hemoglobin, and higher left ventricular ejection fraction values. Even after adjustment for covariates, the elderly patients were associated with higher risks of adverse outcomes. The predictors for all-cause death were: lower eGFR, lower BMI, male sex, sustained ventricular tachycardia or fibrillation (VT/VF), and the use of diuretics at discharge. Conclusions: Among patients hospitalized with HF, elderly patients had a worse prognosis than younger patients. Lower eGFR, lower BMI, male sex, sustained VT/VF, and diuretic use were independent predictors for all-cause death in these patients with higher risk. (Circ J 2011; 75: 2403-2410)
