本特集は、2015年9月12日、バチカン聖ピオ10世ホールにおいて開催されたシンポジウム「キリシタンの跡をたどる―バチカン図書館所蔵マレガ収集文書の発見と国際交流」での成果をもとに、さらに検討を加え発表するものである。特集を組むにあたってタイトルを変えることも考えたが、関連性を確保するためにシンポジウム・タイトルをそのまま用いることにした。ここではプロジェクトについて紹介したうえで、シンポジウムの狙いや各報告の課題を明らかにしたい。

Geographic differences have been reported to affect the morphological and molecular features of papillary thyroid carcinomas (PTCs). The area around Chernobyl is well-known to be iodine-deficient in contrast to Japan, an iodine-rich country. We reviewed histological differences in adult PTC between Ukraine and Japan. In total, 112 PTCs from age- and sex-matched adults (Ukraine 56, Japan 56) were evaluated histologically for several factors including tumor size, capsulation, tumor components (papillary, follicular, solid, trabecular), lymph node metastasis, extrathyroid invasion, lymphocytic infiltration, oxyphilic metaplasia, and MIB-1 index. We demonstrated that tumors were smaller (1.56 vs. 2.13 cm, p<0.05) and more solid and that lymph node metastasis was less frequent (14.3% vs. 48.2%, p<0.001) in Ukrainian cases. PTC subtype distribution was significantly different between the two groups. Solid variant (8.9% vs. 1.8%) and mixed subtypes with solid components were more frequent in Ukrainian patients. In contrast, classical papillary carcinomas were more frequent in Japanese cases (10.7% vs. 50.0%, p<0.001). Marked oxyphilic metaplasia was more common in Ukrainian cases (33.9 % vs. 8.9 %, p<0.001). MIB-1 index was significantly higher in Ukrainian cases (2.9% vs. 1.8%, p<0.001). However, the frequencies of tumor capsule formation and background lymphoid follicle formation around the tumor were similar between groups. Morphological differences in adult PTCs were similar to those in pediatric PTCs as reported previously, suggesting that morphogenesis of PTC is influenced by environmental factors, especially dietary iodine, as well as genetic factors.

土壌中の有機物や2価鉄などによって、有害な6価クロムが無害な3価クロムへ還元される反応は、環境化学的に重要である。演者らは、人工汚染土壌標準試料であるJSO-2(現在配布停止)中の6価クロムが、作成後5年以内に全て3価に還元されたことに着目し(Tsuno et al., 2006)、土壌中での有害元素の反応機構の解明に取り組んでいる。平成18年度の地球化学会年会(太田・津野・鍵・福良・野村・今井)では、状態分析法を用いて汚染土壌中のクロムの化学形態特定を行い、6価クロムが還元され3価の水酸化クロムとして存在していることを報告した。今回は、X線吸収端微細構造(EXAFS)解析を用いて詳細な構造解析を行うことで、その反応過程について新たに知見を得たので報告する。

Multivalued logic is important as a fundamental technique in designing machine intelligence. Particularly Boolean multivalued logic such that the whole set of logic formulas forms a Boolean algebra inherits those theorems, laws, etc. which are obtained in traditional Boolean binary logic. In this article, only logic such that logic formulas take more-than-two truth values is called multivalued logic, and any logic such that weights or costs are added to logic formulas of Boolean binary logic is not classified into multivalued logic. This article defines Boolean multivalued logic by coding binary fractions being greater than or equal to 0 and less than 1 directly as truth values. To handle readily Bayesian theory rationalizing collection of knowledges via observation, this article also introduces an arithmetic operation called “conditioning” in addition to usual logic operations. A key to advancing machine intelligence built in a certain kind of robots required an ability of thinking is extracting causality between objects by introducing such a robust logic that can process inferences consistently. This article shows with some instances the way of optimizing truth values of atoms when what truth values some logic formulas should take are given as knowledges, and the way of calculating the truth values of unknown logic formulas as inferences. It also mentions possibility of introducing natural language for realization of phonic conversation between users and machine intelligence.

比較的パラフィニックなFCCデカント油 (FCC-DO) との共炭化において, 低硫黄減圧残油 (LSVR) を熱処理することによってボトムモザイクコークスの消去を試みた。その結果420°C(1~5h) という非常に限られた条件でLSVRを熱処理するとモザイクコークスが消去できた。熱処理によってLSVR中のアスファルテン分が分解され, ベンゼン不溶分やメソフェーズをわずかに生成するのみで, 芳香族性を向上させることができた。こうした熱改質は, アスファルテン成分の炭化時の熱安定性とFCC-DOへの溶解性を向上し, 炭化初期におけるメソフェーズの相分離が抑制できるため底部モザイクが生成しないのであろう。

本研究は戦後から1960年代までを対象に、「国語教育と英語教育の連携」をめぐる状況について明らかにすることを目的とする。2000年以降、「連携」に関する議論が高まり、各分野から研究が進んでいるが、ほとんど研究が進んでいないのが歴史的研究である。とくに戦後から1960 年代にかけてどの程度、「連携」が行われていたかについては明らかになっていない。このような状況の下、文献調査を行った結果、「連携」が行われたことを示す資料は発見できなかったが、戦前にはほとんど見られなかった特徴として、(1)国語教育と外国語教育を合わせて「言語教育」と捉える動きがあったこと、(2)その「言語教育」という概念のもとで、国語教育と英語教育の共通点が模索されたこと、(3)しかし一方で、主に文学教材を通した人間形成を重視する国語教育と、コミュニケーション能力の育成を目指す英語教育とでは、全く異なったことをやっているという意識が存在したこと、の三点が明らかになった。このような意識が、戦後から1960年代にかけて、「連携」という発想が広く共有されなかった一因と考えられる。

Homotopy Type Theory lies at the crossroads of computer science, mathematical logic and homotopy theory. It was found out in the first decade of this century that dependent type theory is no other than the internal language for (abstract) homotopy theory, just as the Mitchell-Benabou language is the internal language for topos theory. It is pleasing to note that the Freudenthal suspension theorem, the Blakers-Massey homotopy excision theorem, Whitehead's principle for n-types, the van Kampen theorem, and some other famous theorems are given new proofs within homotopy type theory.

This is a case study of a sexually abused child and her mother (non-perpetrator parent) who underwent parallel interviews conducted by therapists in a child and family support center. The child was in the first grade of an elementary school and had been sexually abused by her father. One therapist carried out play therapy for the child once a week. The treatment target was to overcome her trauma. A second therapist interviewed her mother with the aim of psychological recovery and support that would allow the mother to take a role in the daily care of her child. In this paper we discuss the psychological transformation and recovery process as well as the ideal method of psychological support in cases of sexual abuse, such as the case of the mother and child described above. The stages of the psychological transformation process through which the child passed during the play therapy were as follow: reproduction of the abuse and her self-image as a survivor, the image of a safe place to stay and the expression of her feelings, and, finally,the care of her mind and body and the recovery of self-image. On the other hand, the stages her mother passed through included acceptance of the fact of sexual abuse fact, understanding of the damage received by the child and psychological care,and,finally,an understanding of the damage done to the mother. As a result of support provided for both the mother and child, they were able to recover psychologically and their domestic relations were reestablished.

研究論文Benedict's paper "Anthropology and the Abnormal" challenged traditional psychology by claiming that what is normal and what is abnormal is shaped by culture. In doing so, Benedict risked exposing her own lesbian sexuality which was considered 'abnormal' at the time. Translating this paper into Japanese provides important information for Japanese scholars in that the paper reveals the close connection between Benedict's research and her personal life and convictions.

本研究はYahoo!株式掲示板の投稿数および投稿内容が株式リターンと関係しているか調査する。そこで東証一部における投稿数および強気指数によるポートフォリオを構築しFama and French 3ファクターモデルが成立しているかを検証する。その結果、投稿数が最も多いポートフォリオおよび最も少ないポートフォリオ及び強気指数が最も強気なポートフォリオおよび最も弱気なポートフォリオではアブノーマルリターンがあったことが分かった。そこで、投稿数の最上位ポートフォリオと最下位ポートフォリオのリターンの差および強気指数の最強気ポートフォリオと最弱気ポートフォリオのリターンの差をファクターとして追加した。その結果、強気指数ファクターを追加した場合には超過リターンは検出されなかった。これにより強気指数は株価リターンと関係している可能性があると考えられる。
