Tiny annelids identified as the marine meiobenthic polychaete Dinophilus gyrociliatus (Schmidt, 1857) have been reported not only from shallow water sediments but also artificial environments such as experimental aquaria almost all around the world; the species has thus been regarded to show a cosmopolitan distribution. However, various types of ciliary-band arrangements and genetic sequences have been reported from different populations, leading to a doubt on the species’ taxonomic identity. In this study, we present results of our SEM observation of Dinophilus sp. cf. gyrociliatus from Japan and provide mitochondrial 16S ribosomal RNA and cytochrome c oxidase subunit I gene sequences of Japanese populations as DNA barcodes for contributing to resolving the taxonomic uncertainty of “D. gyrociliatus”.

全身の痛みを中心とする多彩な症状を訴え心因性多飲を合併する患者に対し,薬物療法・認知行動療法と併せて行った,患者の語りの傾聴と対話を重視した診療が有用であった1例を報告する.症例は68歳の女性,全身の痛みを訴えて当科を紹介受診した.併存合併症として心因性多飲による低ナトリウム血症と意識混濁,むずむず脚症候群,過敏性腸症候群,睡眠障害,失立失歩があり,ドクターショッピングを長年続けた後の受診であった.患者の語りの傾聴と対話により,まず心因性多飲が改善した.次いで痛みの訴えを線維筋痛症・中枢感作性症候群と診断し薬物療法・認知行動療法を実施したところ,ドクターショッピングをやめ症状も軽減した.“説明不能な”痛みの訴えはペインクリニックではたびたび遭遇する.器質的原因が明確ではない疾患の症状を一元的にとらえ,診断治療を行う役目を果たすためには,患者との語り合いにも問題解決への可能性があることが示唆された.

This paper attempts to describe the history of sociology in postwar Japan based on an objective data source: the membership directory of the Japanese Sociological Association. Attempts to describe the history of sociology in postwar Japan have been made repeatedly. However, many appear to have been based on the personal impressions of established sociologists and are therefore “subjective.” The paper tries to describe this history in a verifiable manner, based on data, and compares its results with those founded on “subjective” descriptions. Our findings are so different from what has been suggested by preceding studies. Then, the fact that the insights from the preceding studies have been verified in an objective and reliable manner is a finding in itself. With further, similar attempts, it should be possible to describe the history of sociology in a more multi-faceted and valid manner.

This research combines the quantitative content analysis of election coverage and survey data analysis to demonstrate the effect of TV shows on democratic politics in Japan. First, we classified 31 private TV shows into two categories-"hard news" and "soft news"-via the quantitative content analysis of coverage of the 2007 election. Secondly, we examined the effects of the programs on interest in the 2007 election as well as political involvement using the Asian barometer 2/CSES3 dataset. The results show that: 1) exposure to "hard news" positively correlated with interest in the election as well as political involvement, 2) exposure to "soft news" had a positive correlation with interest in the election only among less-informed people. This study reveals the importance of quantitative content-based classification to distinguish the particular effects of TV shows on democratic politics in response to diversifying forms of political news coverage.

東日本大震災により,関東地方に主に電力供給をしていた東京電力は,社会に多大な迷惑をかけたことにより,社員の働きがいが大幅に低下し,その後,改善はあまりみられていない。福島復興への責任を担い,電力の安定供給を果たすべき社員の離職も震災後数年は多かった。本論文では,「働きがい」や「離職」と関連の高い「会社の誇り」に着目し,2002年からの社員意識調査の経年データをもとに過去のメディア報道が,対象組織に属する社員に与えた心理的影響を明らかにする。東日本大震災後7年たった現在も,東京電力に関する報道は,東日本大震災前の数倍あり,そうした報道は6年以上の長期に蓄積して,社員の意識に影響することが分かった。特に過去1年と6~8年の新聞報道蓄積量から高い精度でその影響は予測され,予測値とのずれから,会社の誇りの回復には,ビジョンの提示,顧客サービス向上などが有効であることが示唆された。こうした視点からインフラ事業など公共性が高い企業や社会貢献を理念としている会社においても,同様の施策が有効と考えられる。

本稿は、日本統治下台南の文学者、呉新榮(Goo Sin-ing)が残した日記などの資料を通して、一九三〇年代の植民地の地方都市における、ある作家の文学活動について概観するものである。東京留学から戻った呉新榮は、医業のかたわら、内地や台湾の新聞や雑誌、書籍を熱心に読み、地元の文学青年たちや台湾全島の文学者たちと文学団体を結成し、郷土を描く詩や郷土研究のエッセイを発表した。呉新榮の活動には、一九三〇年代における、台湾人作家による台湾文壇の成立――台湾人作家たちが、熟達した日本語を用いて、台湾人読者に向けて作品を書く状況の成立が刻み込まれている。

The airflow velocity in clothing (AVC) was measured by using the bi-directional airflow sensor in order to observe the chimney effect and the pumping effect. Eight female participants were asked to wear a separate type raincoat and they kept themselves in a stationary state or performed the rhythmic work. The climatic chamber was controlled at 23℃ or 18℃ (RH50% ). The AVC caused by chimney effect was higher at 18℃ than at 23℃ significantly. The highest value (0.43m/sec) was observed at the chest area. The pumping effect triggered by the rhythmic work caused the air in clothing flowed from the trunk towards the cuff or the hem of a raincoat and overwhelmed the chimney effect.

Authors assumed that the origin of the standard gauge of the railway is in the interval of wheel tracks of ancient carriages such as war chariots, two-wheeled carts and four-wheeled wagons. Basing on the assumption, authors have measured the interval of wheel track at ancient ruins and ancient highway of the Eurasian Continent and the African Continent for long years. On the other hand, the oldest vehicle that exists in the world is chariot of Tut-ankh-Amen who was the Pharaoh of ancient Egyptian of the 18th New Dynasty before 3,500 years and another two chariots of the former dynasty. Authors visited at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo for four times till now and observed six chariots in detail that were displayed inside the glass case. Considering findings of the interval of wheel tracks, authors report the specifications of Tut-ankh-Amen's chariots in this paper.

This study aims to evaluate the agricultural reliance on insect pollination in Japan. Pollination services, especially bees, are vital ecosystem services for agricultural productivity, so recent declines in pollinators triggered the circulation of monetary valuation of pollination services. We measured the welfare loss in each crop category taking into account the response of the consumers, and we found that the contribution of insect pollination to the production of apples, melons, and Japanese pears, which were the top three crops, were 98.5 billion, 48.9 billion, and 35.8 billion JPY, respectively.
