[要約]BYDはもともと1995年深圳 に設立された電池メーカーであったが, 自動車製造の参入で事業を拡大してきた. とりわけ, 自社開発のリン酸鉄リチウム電池をベースにする電気自動車は, 安定性と一回充電で250キロ走れるなどで競合企業より競争優位をもっているため, 2008年ウォーレン・バフェットから出資を受けた. それ以来, BYDの動向は時々マスコミに報道されているが, BYD の競争戦略についての研究はほとんどされなかった. 本稿は, BYD のこれまでの歴史を踏まえた上で, 主に競争戦略を研究して求めたものである. BYDの競争戦略は, 具体的に「コストリーダーシップ」「ハイテク産業の人海戦術」「非特許技術の活用」と「垂直統合」に現れている. ただ, 近年, BYDの売上高は伸びているが, 純利益が減少しているので, このような競争戦略は持続可能かに多少の疑問が残っている. [Abstract]BYD was originally battery manufacturer which was established in 1995 in Shenzhen, but has been expanding its business in the entry of automobile manufacturing. In particular, the electric vehicle that based on self-developed lithium iron phosphate battery, because it has some advantages than competitors in such as the stability, to run 250km in a single charge and so on, Warren Buffett invested HK$1.8billon to BYD in 2008. Since then, although trends of BYD sometimes have been reported in the media, research on competitive strategy of BYD was hardly. This paper was summarized by mainly studied the competitive strategy, on which is based on the history of BYD. The competitive strategy of BYD has appeared in the "Cost leadership", "Human wave tactics of hightech industry," "Using of non-patented technology" and "Vertical integration". However, in recent years, sales of BYD is growing, but since net income is decreasing, there remains some doubt on whether such competitive strategy is sustainable.
