The difficulty and anxiety of nursery staff in administering medication to children at nursery schools has been reported, and its reduction is desired. However, the attitudes of mothers in requesting medication and the factors related to a high frequency of requests are not clear. We conducted an online survey of 600 mothers from April to May 2019 regarding the administration of medication at nursery school, and 301 mothers who had previously made such requests were analyzed. The results showed that 100.0% and 76.4% of the mothers felt gratitude and were apologetic for requesting medicine administration, respectively. In total, 47.5% of mothers expected pharmacists to support nursery staff in administering medication. Mothers' attitude of “I think the nursery staff should administer medication to my child more often” was significantly positively associated with a high frequency of the request in adjusted Model [adjusted odds ratio (AOR) 2.75, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.36-5.55, p=0.005], while “I think the parents should manage so that the children do not have to take medicine in the nursery school so often” showed a negative association (AOR 0.33, 95% CI 0.17-0.66, p=0.002). Factors related to the involvement of community pharmacists were not significant. It is suggested that a change in mothers' attitudes could decrease the frequency of requests and consequently reduce the burden on nursery staff. Community pharmacists may support nursery staff to contribute to changing mothers' attitudes through medication consultations at the pharmacy.

全身において,実際の年齢よりも早く老化の徴候がみられる疾患は早老症と称され,DNA(deoxyribonucleic acid)修復関連遺伝子や核膜蛋白の異常により惹起される多様な疾患を含んでいる.日本人に多いWerner症候群(Werner syndrome:WS)は,20~30代から低身長や白髪,白内障等が出現し,40代で内臓脂肪蓄積を背景に糖尿病や脂質異常症等を生じ,悪性腫瘍や難治性皮膚潰瘍を高率に合併する疾患である.RecQ型DNAヘリカーゼであるWRN遺伝子の変異による常染色体劣性遺伝疾患であることが判明しており,近年の研究に基づき,診断基準や治療ガイドラインが策定されている.また,原因遺伝子であるWRN蛋白のDNA修復やテロメア維持における役割等,分子レベルの病態解明も進みつつある.超高齢社会を迎えた本邦において,「ヒト老化のモデル疾患」であるWSの研究は,一般老化のメカニズム解明のためにも重要な課題であると考えられる.

本研究は主に①遠近法に基づく近代絵画に美学的基礎を与えたシャフツベリ伯、ハリス、レッシングなどの絵画論を分析しつつ、②近代西洋絵画の代表作における複合的な世界の表現の技法的分析③ルネサンスから19世紀にいたる複数世界論および幾何学・数学の思想史的・科学史的解明、④「近代的視覚」の思想史的再考を通じ、外から観察される世界とその中で生きる世界、瞬間と過去と未来、夢と現実が同一の画面に統合された西洋近代の視覚体験を再構成して、「モダニティ」の観念によって一面化されてきた近代西洋の多彩で豊かな知的枠組みを明らかにする。

分岐鎖アミノ酸(BCAA)の摂取によってミトコンドリアの生合成が高まることが報告される一方で、分解機構に与える影響について詳細は明らかではない。この分解機構はミトコンドリアの品質管理を行う上で重要な働きを担う。そこで本研究では、BCAAの摂取がミトコンドリアの分解機構に与える影響を明らかにする。本研究により、BCAAの摂取がミトコンドリアの制御にどのような影響を与えるのかについて合成および分解の両視点から明らかにすることが可能となる。さらに、BCAAの新たな生理機能の発見につながることや、スポーツ現場に対して科学的根拠に基づいた栄養摂取方法を提供する一助となることが期待される。

Background: In 2016, two consecutive moderate magnitude earthquakes occurred in Ulsan, South Korea. Therefore, we aimed to investigate the impact of earthquakes on the mental health of residents in Ulsan.Method: We used data from the 2015–2017 Korean Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service National Patient Sample. We conducted an interrupted time series analysis using location-based controls. Changes in the number of antidepressants, benzodiazepines, and zolpidem prescriptions in Ulsan were compared to controls. Overall changes in weekly prescriptions one year after the first earthquake, compared to a non-earthquake scenario, were estimated.Results: In antidepressant prescriptions, the increase in trend after an earthquake was significantly higher than controls. However, the changes in benzodiazepines and zolpidem were not significant. Overall, the impact of the earthquake on weekly antidepressant prescriptions at one year was estimated as a 1.32 (95% CI: 1.18 - 1.56) rate ratio compared to the non-earthquake scenario. This corresponded to a 1,989.7 (95% CI: 1,202.1 to 3,063.0) increase in the number of prescriptions. Among subgroups, the increase was highest among males aged 20–39 years.Conclusion: The moderate earthquake in Ulsan was associated with an increase in antidepressant prescriptions. The increase in the male group aged 20–39 was the highest. The impact may vary according to the context of the population.

In order to increase communication capacity, the use of millimeter-wave and terahertz-wave bands are being actively explored. Non-radiative dielectric waveguide known as NRD guide is one of promising platform of millimeter-wave integrated circuits thanks to its non-radiative and low loss nature. In order to develop millimeter wave circuits with various functions, various circuit components have to be efficiently designed to meet requirements from application side. In this paper, for efficient design of NRD guide devices, we develop a topology optimal design technique based on function-expansion-method which can express arbitrary structure with arbitrary geometric topology. In the present approach, recently developed two-dimensional full-vectorial finite element method (2D-FVFEM) for NRD guide devices is employed to improve computational efficiency and several evolutionary approaches, which do not require appropriate initial structure depending on a given design problem, are used to optimize design variables, thus, NRD guide devices having desired functions are efficiently obtained without requiring designer's special knowledge.

我々は,聴講者からのチャットによるリアクションをリアルタイムに反映できるシステム「ChaChat-Button」を開発している.学会発表で実践した結果,発表者側が聴講者の反応をリアルタイムで知りながら発表することができ,かつ聴講者側もコメントや反応することへの抵抗感を和らげたことが示唆されている.本稿では,学会発表で得られた知見をもとにシステムを改良し,約 4 ヶ月間ゼミで利用した結果を報告する.長期間の利用をおこなったことで,よく押される/押されないボタンの種類やボタンを押すタイミングの傾向がわかった.また,回を追うごとにボタンの押される総数が減少した一方で,テキストによる入力が増加していることがわかった.

The effect of maternal occupational non-ionizing radiation (NIR) exposure from MRI on premature birth and low birth weight delivery was analyzed based on questionnaire survey (263 employees, 443 births). Although the highest occurrence rates of both outcomes were observed in the group whose NIR exposure occurred only before pregnancy, no statistical significance was detected.

Interest in interstitial fluid dynamics has increased since the proposal of the glymphatic system hypothesis. Abnormal dynamics of the interstitial fluid have been pointed out to be an important factor in various pathological statuses. In this article, we propose the concept of central nervous system interstitial fluidopathy as a disease or condition in which abnormal interstitial fluid dynamics is one of the important factors for the development of a pathological condition. We discuss the aspects of interstitial fluidopathy in various diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, normal pressure hydrocephalus, and cerebral small vessel disease. We also discuss a method called “diffusion tensor image analysis along the perivascular space” using MR diffusion images, which is used to evaluate the degree of interstitial fluidopathy or the activity of the glymphatic system.

1カ月の請求額が1,000万円以上の高額レセプトの件数は2009年の155件から10年後の2018年には728件と5倍近く増加しているが,この間の最高額は2014年を除き,血友病とvon Willebrand病が占めている.凝固因子製剤を使用している血友病患者一人あたりの医療費は全国平均の80倍以上に達する.大規模自然災害の多発や新型コロナウイルス感染症の流行で益々日本経済が逼迫するなか,医療経済の視点から,定期補充療法について,その適応,必要なトラフ値,zero bleedingの必要性,スポーツ参加の許容範囲について再考するとともに,血液凝固因子製剤の価格と費用対効果について考察した.

We developed short tandem repeat markers for Palaemon septemtrionalis and tested their utility for analysing population genetics. Six markers were selected for their genotyping ability and suitability for population genetic analyses, and the genetic differences between two populations from different rivers were evaluated using these markers. The pairwise fixation index value between the two populations was 0.01756 (P=0.036), weak but statistically significant, suggesting a low level of genetic differentiation between the two populations. Although the results were not fully conclusive, we are confident these markers can be utilised for investigating the genetic population structure of P. septemtrionalis.
