The purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics of the setting technique in combination attacks focusing on the trajectory of the ball was set and the arm of the setting motion. The setting motion of the setters that were playing in world − class competition was analyzed. The general tendency was extracted from the analyzed data, and was explained biomechanically. The trajectories of the balls was set were close. And the characteristics of the setting technique in combination attacks are on the following two points. 1)The arm angle is approximately 137 degree from touching to release the ball. 2)The timing formed the setting posture is approximately 0.233 second before touching the ball(approximately the take − off). It is considered that their two motions are useful not to give blockers the clue of the set direction before releasing the ball. After releasing the ball,the close trajectory of the ball suggests that it is difficult for blockers to judge the position attacked.

The HMD optical system composed of "Free-Form-Surface prism (FFS prism)" was presented by Canon Inc. in 1995 [1-3]. This HMD is suitable for compact HMD. We have developed a new see-through 3D HMD with high resolution, wide field of view (FOV) by improving this FFS prism technique. The new HMD with 51degrees horizontal FOV and large viewing eyebox shows clear full color image (VGA) with 920,000 pixels. In spite of the wide FOV, the thickness of this new FFS prism is very thin, 17.9mm. In this paper, we report this new HMD and "the AR^2hockey system" as an example of this HMD application.

我々は蛋白質構造解析に特化したアニーリング方式の量子コンピューターを検討している. この手法では, 蛋白質の折り畳みに寄与する生物化学的な作用を数理モデルに取り入れ, 量子ビット回路に直接実装する. 共に最小エネルギー状態に帰着するという観点で, 蛋白質の折り畳みと量子アニーリングのメカニズムは親和性が高いと考えている. 疾病の原因究明に踏み込むことができるような量子コンピューターの実現を目指している.

We established a practical training program to nurture pharmacists who can give smoking cessation instructions. The program was provided to 85 interns (45 males and 40 females) in Teikyo University Hospital. The one-day practical training was provided to groups comprised of five members each. The training consisted of studies on the adverse effects of smoking, general outlines of the outpatient smoking cessation service, experiencing Smokerlyzer, studies about smoking-cessation drugs, studies about a smoking cessation therapy using cognitive-behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing, and case studies applying role-playing. Before and after the practical training, we conducted a questionnaire survey consisting of The Kano Test for Social Nicotine Dependence (KTSND) and the assessment of the smoking status, changes in attitudes to smoking, and willingness and confidence to give smoking cessation instructions. The overall KTSND score significantly dropped from 14.1±4.8 before the training to 8.9±4.8 after the training. The confidence to give smoking cessation instructions significantly increased from 3.4±1.9 to 6.2±1.3. Regarding the correlation between the smoking status and willingness and confidence to give smoking cessation instructions, the willingness and confidence were lower among the group of interns who either smoked or had smoked previously, suggesting that smoking had an adverse effect. A total of 88.2% of the interns answered that their attitudes to smoking had “changed slightly” or “changed” as a result of the training, indicating changes in their attitudes to smoking. Given the above, we believe that our newly-established smoking cessation instruction training is a useful educational tool.

南イタリア・ヴェスヴィオ山麓は紀元後1世紀の火山噴火で埋没したポンペイ等の古代都市が発見され、近代考古学・古代史研究の礎が築かれた「領域 (イタリア語 territorio)」である。本研究計画は(I)2002年以来東京大学が当地域で行うソンマ・ヴェスヴィアーナ古代ヴィラ遺跡調査を総括し、(II) 歴史学、美術史、パブリック・アーケオロジー、文献学、文化史の専門家である分担研究者が協働し、当該「領域」の「古代の記憶」に位置付ることで新たな知見を獲得し、(III)国際シンポジウム等を通して文化遺産の研究・保存活用をめぐる国際的議論において、広く統合的人文知の新たな展望と社会的役割を呈示する。

セイコーマートは大手コンビニエンス・チェーンの攻勢にさらされながらも、北海道において最多の店舗数を保持し続けている。コンビニエンス・ストアの合併などが進んだ現在では、地方企業がトップ・シェアを有する都道府県は北海道のみである。コンビニエンス・ストア業界内で激しい競争が展開されていくなか、セイコーマートはいかにして北海道市場における競争優位を確立し、維持できたのだろうか。本稿では、創業から2000年頃までの同社の出店戦略、物流システム、情報システム、商品力強化および販売活動に関する動向を整理することで、同社の競争優位の背景を探っていく。

注意欠陥多動性障害(ADHD)は、不注意、多動性、衝動性を主症状とし、生物学的要因が土台となって発現すると考えられる発達障害である。この障害はてんかんの約20%に併発され、この場合、発作の制御によりADHD 症状が改善し、患者自身の自尊感情が上昇する。このようにADHD 症状には心理・社会的要因との相関があり、行動療法など、ADHD 児やその親に対する心理・社会的アプローチが有用である。いっぽうで中枢刺激薬などによる薬物療法が有効である。現在、前頭前野や大脳基底核のdopamine機能異常を中心として、ADHD の神経基盤が議論されている。また、最近、noradrenaline再取込み作用の阻害がADHD 症状を緩和することが示され、この作用をもつ薬剤による治療が米国で開始された。Noradrenalineは注意機能に深く関与しており、今後の研究の展開が望まれる。神経基盤の研究においては動物モデルの開発が重要であり、現在、SHR をはじめとするモデルが示されている。新しいモデルとしててんかんモデル動物であるEL マウスが有用かもしれず、新たな可能性が期待される。さらに、従来のADHD 動物モデル研究ではおもにその多動性が着目されていたが、不注意や衝動性という認知機能をも十分に議論する必要がある。その試みとして、筆者はオペラント学習理論に基づいた行動指標を開発中である。これにより、さらに本質的なADHD の神経基盤の解明が進み、新薬開発に有用となる可能性がある。さらには、動物モデルにおいて(弁別刺激)反応強化随伴性とADHD 症状との関係が議論できることになり、より効果的な行動療法の開発へとつながると考えられる。
