自律訓練法は不安,抑うつ,怒りなどの陰性感情を低下させ,自己認知を積極的なものに変化させ自己受容を促すという心理的効果がある.練習中,中心後回などの手足の感覚に関連する部位に加えて,前頭前皮質や島皮質など,内部感覚や情動に関連する皮質機能の活動が亢進する.両腕が「重たい」,「温かい」という公式を裏づけるように,骨格筋の弛緩と末梢皮膚温の上昇が生じる.交感神経活動に対しては抑制的に作用する.迷走神経活動に関しては,心臓迷走神経活動を賦活する一方で,消化管を支配する迷走神経機能亢進状態に対しては抑制的に作用する.さらに視床下部-下垂体-副腎皮質系を抑制し,機械的疼痛閾値を上昇させる.

研究ノートアウトプット仮説によれば、スピーキングあるいはライティングで首尾一貫して正確にしかも適切にメッセージを伝えようとすること(プッシュトアウトプット)により、学習者は言語をより深く認識し処理できるようになり、第2言語習得は促進すると考えられている (Swain,1985,1995)。本稿では、近年のタスクに関する研究に注目し、プッシュトアウトプットを促進する条件について、タスクの種類と構成要素に焦点を当て、その影響を言語習得の3要素である正確さ、流暢さ、そして複雑さ (Crookes,1989; Skehan,1996)の観点から論ずる。

Motor speech disorders (dysarthria) comprise a group of speech disorders resulting from disturbances in muscular control due to impairment of any of the basic motor processes involved in the execution of speech. During the period of 10 years from 1980 to 1989, the incidence of motor speech disorders in the author's clinic was 16.7% (248 out of total of 1, 485 patients with language and speech disorders). In clinical practice, it is quite important not to overlook progressive neurological diseases, such as bulbar palsy . In this paper, points of clinical examination are described together with perceptual and acoustic methods of evaluation of pathological speech. The importance of total rehabilitation of dysarthric subjects is emphasized, and the use of different types of speech aids is recommended.

The continuous casting technology of steels in Japan has been well-developed over the past 60 years since the introduction of a continuous casting machine and its technology from Europe. The continuous casting ratio of steels has reached over 98%. A large number of researchers have been conducted on fundamental researches for the improvement of continuous casting technologies. Some of the development histories are summarized in the book, entitled ìHistory of Steel Continuous Casting Technology in Japanî in 1996. In recent years, a near-net-casting has been also developed for higher efficiencies and productivity in many countries. This paper reviews the histories of development in the continuous casting in Japan on technologies regarding (1) Pouring to mold, (2) mold lubrication, (3) cooling of a solidifying shell, (4) machine type, (5) reduction of casting defects, (6) tundish, (7) measurement and control processes and (8) different types continuous castings. The fundamental researches on the major casting defects including macrosegregation, cracking and inclusions that are formed in a continuous casting are also reviewed. Some brief comments on the further development of continuous casting in the future are described.
