糖鎖研究という新しい科学技術領域を開拓するにあたり、10年間の長期戦略を最初に考案した。多くの研究者・技術者がこの領域に参入できるよう基盤ツールの開発を行った。まずは、糖鎖遺伝子の網羅的発見と機能解析を遂行した。この成果は、糖鎖合成技術、糖鎖構造解析技術、糖鎖の生物機能解析へつながる布石となった。開発された基盤技術ツールを応用して、癌診断等に有用な糖鎖バイオマーカー開発を実施した。肝線維化マーカー、胆管癌マーカー等の実用化に成功した。その他の種類の癌マーカーの開発も進行している。10年の長きにわたる研究成果はアジア諸国をはじめ世界へ輸出され、国内および諸外国との共同研究へと発展している。

本稿の目的は,ナイジェリア連邦共和国の都市イレ・イフェの「アーティスト」であるコラウォレ・オラインカという個人をおもな事例とし,彼が「アーティスト」としてどのように生きているのかを,ナイジェリアの歴史的・社会的コンテクストに位置づけて明らかにすることを通して,アフリカにおける「アート」のあり方について考察することである。これまで,人類学は非西洋における芸術/ 美術/ モノの意味や社会的機能を明らかにしてきた。また,西洋と非西洋の不均衡な力関係を乗り越えようとする展示の試みも行ってきた。ところが,作品のつくり手である「アーティスト」が,地域社会,そして西洋近代のアートワールドという異なるふたつの要素と関わり合うなかで,そうしたつくり手の視点に注目して当該地域における「アート」が論じられることはほとんどなかった。これに対して本稿は,オラインカという個人のつくり手の生活世界とライフヒストリー,作品制作や販売のプロセスを分析し,考察することによって,彼が地域社会やアートワールドと関わりながら生きている様を明らかにしていく。

In this paper, applicability of Dynamic Mode Decomposition (DMD) to the extraction of modal properties of linear mechanical systems from their time-domain dynamic responses, i.e., experimental modal analysis is discussed. Of particular interest is its capability to extract modal parameters, i.e., natural frequencies, damping ratios and mode shapes, from measured time histories of displacement of discrete and distributed mechanical systems. First, theoretical background of DMD is briefly reviewed from the viewpoint of structural dynamics. It is shown that the modal parameters can be extracted from the DMD eigenvalues and the associated eigenvectors. The DMD is then applied to analytical solutions of transient response of discrete mass-spring-damper mechanical systems to discuss the applicability of the DMD to extract the modal parameters from the transient response. Furthermore, the effects of measurement errors on the identified modal parameters are discussed. With relatively large measurement errors, it is shown that DMD produces erroneous results especially for the damping ratios. Finally, DMD is applied to experimentally-obtained impulse response of displacement field of a cantilevered beam with many measurement points, and its modal parameters are extracted. It is shown that the modal parameters extracted by DMD are as accurate as the ones obtained by the existing modal parameter extraction method.

The purpose of this study was to have verified a muscle that began to contract fastest in the punch of boxing. The Fifteen university-age males with no history of chronic low back pain participated in the study. Participants were ranked as BOX (n=8) or CON (n=7). Subjects performed a straight punch with the rear arm (dominant arm). Electromyographic activity of deltoid muscle, rectus femoris muscle, rectus abdominis muscle, external oblique muscle, internal oblique muscle-transversus abdominis muscle; IO-TrA, multifidus muscle were measured. As a result, the IO-TrA was invariably the first contractive muscle in BOX and CON, supporting the hypothesized role of this muscle in spinal stiffness generation.

携帯電話の普及とともに携帯電話にGPSを搭載することが求められるようになり,ナビゲーションなどの目的でGPSを利用する機会が増えている.本研究ではGPSの新しい利用方法として,Signal to Noise Ratio(SNR)などGPSの受信状態を用いて端末が屋内・屋外のどちらに存在するかを判定する方法を提案する.このため,様々な屋内外環境においてGPSの受信状態を収集し,各環境での特性から事前に判別モデルを構築しておくことで,屋内外判定をリアルタイムに実行する.屋内外判定により,屋内外で位置推定法をシームレスに切り替えたり,地図情報と組み合わせた位置推定の精度向上などの実現が期待される.提案手法の精度を確認するため,郊外や都市部など様々な屋内外環境でGPSの信号強度を収集し環境に応じて評価した結果,屋内外が切り替わってから7秒で90%の判定成功率を達成できることを確認した.

Hattoushin (a 1:8 head:body length ratio) represents a distinctive way of defining female physical beauty. Discourse on this topic in Japan appeared during the postwar reconstruction period, sometimes referred to as “the age of the physical body,” as a representation of the ideal female physical image, and it continues to resonate with Japanese women today. This paper takes up the notion of hattoushin and addresses the following issues using Butler’s genealogical method for gender: ① What were the social contexts in which it emerged, and ② what techniques of body modification did it generate? ③ With a particular focus on female PE, in which the pursuit of physical beauty was incorporated, the position of PE as an essential element for femininity is explored. The aim of the present paper is to clarify how females and/or femininity were defined in terms of physical traits. The results are as follows. ① The emergence of hattoushin was due to the appearance and rise of fashion modeling as a profession, and of Ms. Kinuko Ito winning third place in the Miss Universe contest. However, the popularity of hattoushin was not merely because it came to be used as a description of the body. It was recognized as a well-developed “health and beauty” movement that could overcome the negative aspects of defeat/occupation and was regarded as a symbol of postwar female liberation. ② As a result of this rising attention to the female body form, hattoushin was recognized as the ideal that could be achieved through new techniques such as cosmetic gymnastics and “physical standard values” for visualizing ideal physical beauty. ③ Postwar female PE reform had a particularly strong influence on the development of female physical beauty culture, aiming to establish the independence of females under the slogan “Female PE with female hands”. In that process, the pursuit of physical beauty through cosmetic gymnastics took a central role. Female PE reform developed because postwar feminism itself evaluated the pursuit of physical beauty as a medium for subjective self-expression by women who were liberated. This process is similar to Butler’s statement “The feminist subject turns out to be discursively constituted by the very political system that is supposed to facilitate its emancipation”. That is, female PE itself, which is a feminist political system promoting female liberation, decided on an ideal form of femininity, and thus strengthened “female” categorization. More specifically, feminism itself called for the pursuit of physical beauty, and inspired many women.

1.研究の背景と目的 現在、イタリアでは集落内に点在する空き家等を宿泊施設に活用し、ホテルの客室に改修し、集落全体をホテルに見立てた、アルベルゴ・ディフーゾ(Albergo Diffuso、以下ADと表記)が大きな注目を集めている。ADは直訳すると「分散型ホテル」の意味で、現在のAD協会会長ジャンカルロ・ダッラーラ氏が1980年代に提唱した概念である。 イタリアでは日本と同様に少子高齢化が進んでおり、地方の小都市、集落では人口減少や地域経済の衰退が問題となっている。そんな中で、集落内の空き家、空き部屋を宿泊施設として活用し、地域を運営するADは地域活性化に向けた打開策として期待されている。 本研究では、2018年9月にイタリア国内9地域において実施した現地調査をもとに、ADの施設と経営、宿泊者の動向や特徴を明らかにする。さらにその結果を踏まえて、日本における空き家、古民家の宿泊施設への活用の今後の方向性を考察する。2.アルベルゴ・ディフーゾの現状(1)アルベルゴ・ディフーゾの条件 AD協会では加入の条件として「ADが統一組織にマネジメントされていること」「一定以上の水準のホテルサービスが提供されていること」「ADの各建物が適度に離れていること」「ホテルまたは地域内にて飲食、生活サービスが提供されていること」「地域コミュニティに開かれ、宿泊客と融合できること」などが挙げられている。(2)アルベルゴ・ディフーゾの分布 2018年4月時点、AD協会に登録されているADは102地域である。2011年に35地域、2015年に86地域であったことから、毎年10地域のペースで増加している。 ADはイタリア北西部のヴァッレ・ダオスタ州を除くイタリア全州に分布しており、なかでも中部のトスカーナ州、ウンブリア州、マルケ州、ラツィオ州に全体の約1/3のADが分布している。(3)アルベルゴ・ディフーゾ経営の特徴 ADの立地は丘や山麓に位置する町や村、山間部の街道沿いなどに位置するケースが多い。主要都市(空港)からのアクセスは車で1~2時間がほとんどである。 ADの施設については、宿泊室はキッチン付きのアパートメントタイプと、ベッドルームにトイレ、シャワー室がついたB&Bタイプの両タイプが混在している。 ADの経営は家族経営がほとんどである。建築家や飲食店経営などの個人事業主がホテルのオーナーになっている。 宿泊客の傾向をみると、おおむね4月~9月がシーズンで、特に7月、8月はヨーロッパ各地でバカンス期になることから、稼働率が高い状態である。しかし、11月~3月までは宿泊客数がピーク時の1、2割程度に落ち込む。3.まとめ~日本の空き家、古民家の宿泊施設への活用に向けて~ イタリアのADは空き家の再生という観点で、歴史的文化財をしっかり改修した分散型ホテルは観光として有効である。日本で展開するためには宿泊施設してしっかりと費用をかける必要がある。またイタリアの場合はADが機能分散型になっていないケースが多いが、日本では地域をコーディネートする組織(協議会、DMO、DMC)を作りながらADを運営すれば、街づくりと観光を作り出し、大きく発展する可能性がある。

本稿は,菓子等のパッケージに多く用いられる「帯紙」のプロポーションの好みについて,実験を行いその結果を検証し評価した.上述の帯紙は掛け紙とも呼ばれ,商品(箱)全体を包むことができる大きいサイズから紐のような小さいサイズまで様々であり,視覚的概念表現の規定はない.多くは,作り手,売り手が買い手の好みを体験的,感覚的に決めており,上述の帯紙に関して買い手の好みを学術的な側面からアプローチしている研究はない.本研究では,10 種類のアスペクト比のサイズの箱に帯紙を貼付しそのアスペクト比を用いて実験し,検証の結果,被験者の感覚的反応による視覚的対象の数的規則性を求めることができた.多くの被験者はパッケージの箱と見立てた平面状の長方形(以後設定条件と言う)に対して帯紙の割合が60%〜70%を占めるプロポーションが最も好むプロポーションであることが分かった.その反面,設定条件に対して帯紙の幅が細いプロポーションには好みが低くい結果になった.菓子等のパッケージで用いられる帯紙は買い手に対し視覚的効果が大きいため,そのサイズの効果を応用することで,今後のパッケージングデザインの考え方の一助になると考える.

Since the beginning of the 20th century the Homeric epics have been the main focus of historical discussions on "the Trojan War" in the Mycenaean Age and the actual societies and cultures of the later periods. In this paper I envisage the Iliad as not so much a historical document as a fictional work and propose to make clear the poet's social vision which should have appealed to his contemporary audience near the end of the Dark Age. The literary world of the Iliad, as J. Goold has pointed out, is made up of the four model societies: those of the Greeks at Troy, Troy itself, the gods on Olympus and the Greeks at the age of Homer, of which the last one is described briefly on the Shield of Achilles and in similes. From this general view I proceed to put in the foreground the depiction of the city at war - a secularized and reduced Iliad - on the Shield (Il. l8.509-540) and to look from there into 'the vanishing point' on which the 'parallel lines' of the other three societies should converge in a poetic perspective. At the end of this dynamic structure the victorious Achilles, who insults the defeated Hector's dead body and has become a helpless victim of physical force, is saved from this fatal mechanism of perpetual violence by the divine familial affection and the old king Priam's action of paternal love for his son. And just after the reconciliation, the entire narrative concludes with Hector's funeral which symbolizes the continuation of Troy's social life. Thus Homer seems to show his original view in which the type of his Trojan society, an urban civilization with the great potentialities of mediating social conflicts and resolving mental crises, can repair the grave defects inherent to such an excessively competitive organization as his Greek army and provide good guidance for the people of many emerging city-states of his time.
