Four alien monogeneans, Unilatus unilatus Mizelle and Kritsky, 1967, U. brittani Mizelle, Kritsky, and Crane, 1968, Trinigyrus peregrinus n. sp., and Heteropriapulus heterotylus (Jogunoori, Kritsky, and Venkatanarasaiah, 2004), were collected from the gills of vermiculated sailfin catfish, Pterygoplichthys disjunctivus (Weber, 1991) (Siluriformes: Loricariidae), in inland waters of Okinawa-jima island, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. Unilatus unilatus and U. brittani represent new country records for Japan. Trinigyrus peregrinus n. sp. is characterized by a coiled male copulatory organ that forms a circle and does not articulate with its accessory piece. Heteropriapulus heterotylus was newly collected from two rivers in south-central Okinawa-jima island. These monogeneans are all considered to be native to South America and to have been co-introduced with the host fish into the inland waters of the island by release of ornamental pet fish.

馬琴旧蔵の「鎖国論」に焦点を当て、その数奇な運命を辿った。結果、近世後期における志筑忠雄訳「鎖国論」の受容をめぐる興味深い事例となるとともに、当時の「写本」作成の実態を浮かび上がらせることにも繋がった。

隠れマルコフモデルに基づく音声合成方式を歌声合成に拡張することにより構築した歌声合成システムについて述べる.本システムでは,歌い手の声の質と基本周波数パターンに関する特徴をモデル化するため,スペクトルと基本周波数パターンをHMMにより同時にモデル化している.特に,自然な歌声を合成する上で重要な要素となる音符の音階や音長の基本周波数パターンへの影響を精度良くモデル化するため,楽譜から得られる音階と音長を考慮したコンテキスト依存モデルを構築している.これらのモデルに対して決定木によるコンテキストクラスタリング行うことで,未知の楽曲からの歌声合成が可能となっている.実験から,歌い手の特徴を再現し,なめらかで自然性の高い歌声の合成が可能であることを示す.

1999年から2005年にかけて,宮崎県内及び鹿児島県内の数箇所で,森林生のエサキクチキゴキブリSalganea esakiiに生じた冬虫夏草(仮称ヒュウガゴキブリタケ)を採集して形態学的観察及び分子系統学的検討を行った. 本種の子実体は宿主の腹部から1-2本生じ、根棒状から太針状、長さ11-70mm、太さ1.3-5mm、全体が淡褐色から褐色.先端はやや尖り,ビロード状の不捻部となる.子のう殻は卵形、325-370×100-140μm、子実体の中間部では埋生し,明褐色の捻果部を形成する.子のうは,長さ150-200×10-11μm.子のう胞子は,細長い紡錘状,72-100×2.8-3.6μm, 8細胞,二次胞子に分裂しない。不稔部表面にHirsutella様のアナモルフを疎らに形成する。分生子はレンズ状,淡褐色,7-7.2×5μm.分生子形成細胞はペン先状,先端は細長く尖り,4-6×1-1.5μm,基部で折れ曲がる. 本種の子実体及び子のう胞子を発芽させて得られた培養株を用いて,rDNAのITS領域と26Sサブユニット D1/D2領域の塩基配列に基づく分子系統学的解析の結果,本種は独自のクラスターを形成した. ゴキブリ目昆虫を宿主とするCordeceps属菌としてはセイロン島(スリランカ)で採集された標本に基づいてPetchがCordyceps blattaeを1924年に報告している.両者は子のう胞子の形態から,共にOphiocordyceps亜属に属するが,本種はC.blattaeと比べると子実体,子のう殻,子のう,子のう胞子などの大きさが明らかに異なるため,新種とするのが妥当と考えている。

Whether leukoaraiosis burden retards short-term recovery after minor stroke is unclear. We investigated the association between leukoaraiosis and early recovery of neurological function after a first minor ischemic stroke in 217 acute stroke patients (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score ≤5). Leukoaraiosis severity was graded according to the Fazekas scale and categorized into none to mild (0–2; n = 143) or severe (3–6; n = 74) groups. NIHSS and Minimum Mental State Examination (MMSE) were assessed at baseline and at 30 days. Univariate analysis revealed that the severe leukoaraiosis group was older in age (P < 0.001) and had fewer low MMSE patients than non-mild group at baseline (39.1% vs 55.9%, P = 0.003). However, the MMSE improved in none to mild group but not in the severe group at 30-day (15.4% vs 36.5%, P < 0.001). At 30-day, the severe leukoaraiosis group had higher NIHSS scores than the none-mild group (P = 0.04). Multiple linear regression analyses demonstrated that leukoaraiosis severity and admission NIHSS were independently associated with the NIHSS score on day 30 (P = 0.034, 95% CI 0.004–0.091 and P = 0.001, 95% CI 0.011–0.04). Binary regression analyses showed that leukoaraiosis severity and admission MMSE were significantly associated with MMSE (dichotomized) at 30-day (OR 2.1, P < 0.01, 95% CI 1.7–2.6 and OR 5.1, P < 0.01, 95% CI 2.1–12.8). Leukoaraiosis burden is an independent predictor of worse short-term functional and cognitive recovery after a minor ischemic stroke.

今日神仏習合研究が行き詰まっている一つの原因は、「神仏習合」という視座を規定している歴史的な被拘束性に対する無自覚であり、その方法そのものが孕む問題性にあると考えられる。神-仏という二分法を前提とし、両者の習合と離反の距離を測定しようとする従来の神仏習合研究は、日本列島の宗教世界の主人公として超歴史的な実体である「神」と「仏」を想定するが、それはまったくのフィクションであり、「神」「仏」それぞれの概念も両者の区分も時代によって大きな揺らぎがある。そうした問題点を自覚した上で、今後「神仏習合」という研究のあり方を抜本的に再検討していく必要がある。そのための具体的な道筋としては、狭義の「神」「仏」が各時代の宗教世界全体に占める客観的位置を確定することが不可欠であり、その前提として「神」「仏」に留まらない雑多なカミの混在する日本列島の宗教世界を、ありのままの姿においてトータルに把握するための新たな方法の追求がなされなければならない。

咀嚼が口腔機能や身体状態を改善することはよく知られているが, 多くは動物実験であり, 人の心理状態に及ぼす影響については十分に明らかではない. そこで, 小学校5年生を層別化無作為に11名のグミ咀嚼群と10名の対照群に分け, 特別に調整したグミを夏休み中の28日間に咀嚼することが心理状態, 口腔機能にどのような影響を及ぼすかについて検討した. 心理状態については児童用内田クレペリン精神検査, 児童用顕在性不安検査を用いて検討し, 口腔機能については咬合力, 唾液量を測定した. その結果, 対照群では夏休み期間後に咬合力が有意に低下していたが, グミ咀嚼群では低下がみられず, グミ咀嚼が咬合力の低下を抑制する可能性が示唆された. またグミ咀嚼により作業効率が有意に上昇し, ものごとへの積極性も有意に増加することが明らかになった. また顕在性不安検査と唾液量には差がみられなかった. 咀嚼は子供の心理状態, 口腔機能へ好ましい効果をもたらす可能性がある.

終末期がん患者の治療困難な苦痛に鎮静が必要なことがある.日本の在宅療養中の患者に対する鎮静についての報告は,ほとんどない.本研究の目的は,在宅療養中のがん患者に対する鎮静の状況を調査することである.しんじょう医院で,在宅で緩和ケアを提供された,2012年8月から2014年7月までに診療が終了した117例のがん患者のカルテを後方視的に調査した.死亡したがん患者は98例で,自宅で鎮静が行われたのは自宅で死亡した73名のうちの24名(33%),平均期間は,4.4±6.0日,投与薬剤はすべてミダゾラムであった.ミダゾラムの初期投与量は,12.8±6.2 mg/日,最終投与量は,12.4±6.5 mg/日であった.鎮静の対象となった症状は,せん妄が22例であった.在宅療養中のがん患者に,鎮静は必要な治療で,在宅チームが治療,ケアを常時討議することで,適切かつ安全に実施できることが分かった.

本稿は、幕末の海防論者であり、陽明学者である平戸藩士葉山佐内の思想について分析するとともに、その思想の吉田松陰への影響について論じたものである。著者は、海防論、対外観、陽明学(王陽明および大塩平八郎)に視点を置いて佐内の思想を見るとともに、「西洋兵学への開眼」、「対外観の変化」、「民政の重視」、「陽明学との邂逅」の四点について、佐内の思想が松陰に与えた影響について論じている。これまで、平戸留学が吉田松陰の思想に大きな影響を及ぼしたということはしばしば論じられたきたが、葉山佐内との関係性において論じられたものはほとんどなく、佐内自体の研究も極めて少なかった。本稿は、佐内の思想の持つ合理性、脱中華思想性、平等性を論証するとともに、この思想を受容することによって、松陰が単なる伝統的兵学者から「思想家」へと脱皮したことを明らかにした。

A Japanese proverb goes, "Shinin ni kuchi nashi (the dead can tell no stories)." From a rationalistic point of view, the idea that communication between the living and the dead exists is nothing but an absurd superstition. Nonetheless, some cultural devices in Japanese folk religion still survive, and are used by those who actively try to communicate with the dead. A great many Japanese have realized that the cause and elimination of on-going serial misfortunes are not explained adequately by scientific knowledge and can only be accounted for by spiritual beliefs. In the Tsugaru-Shimokita regions in Aomori Prefecture, northern Japan, itako (blind and half-blind female mediums) function as a cultural device in communicating with the souls of the dead. Their narratives in shamanistic rites, which often contain desire, demand, and dissatisfaction about the treatment to the dead, have often been interpreted as "sosen no sawari (punishment by ancestor)" or "akuryo no tatari (curse of an evil soul)." People who sincerely accept the itako's messages sometimes translate their fear of the dead into religious actions in order to heal the malignant souls and to escape from them. Weddings of the dead, a relatively new Buddhist practice in these regions, are a case in point. This paper explores the healing mechanisms of shamanistic rites performed by Japanese female mediums and weddings of the dead as a chain reaction of religious behavior. All ethnographic data were collected during fieldwork intermittently conducted by the author between 1991 and 2000.

We manipulate equipment naturally as an extension of physical ability. However, it is unclear whether we can transform supernumerary body parts to our body image to use the equipment as a similar body parts. So, this study suggests that ownership is formed by the simultaneity of visual and tactile stimulation, and that this perception of ownership is important to form the body image. In addition, we propose that if the equipment appears to be extended continuously from our body and ownership of the equipment occurs, then the body image will be transformed to include the equipment. Therefore, in this study, the equipment was arranged to appear as extending from the body, and visual and tactile stimulation were used to elicit ownership of the equipment. The results confirmed that body image was transformed to include the equipment. Furthermore, this suggested that it is possible to incorporate equipment into one's body image, and that we could use the equipment as a supernumerary our own body-part.

Nagata Tetsuzan is known as one of the leading figures of the Imperial Army after Manchurian incident. However, it can be said that the full- scale research on him has not been done yet. The author has interpreted so far Nagata's visions and policies during 1920s and Manchurian incident. This paper focuses on the period from April 1932 to August 1933 while he was chief of the intelligence divisions of the general staff to explore what Nagata was thinking particularly in 1933. Those are the times when a committee was organized among chief officials in the war ministry, which brought about contentions between two factions of army officers; the Imperial Way group (Kohdoh-ha) and the Control Faction (Tohsei-ha). And furthermore, during that time, Nagata and his group were clearly coming out with their political stance towards the movement of national reconstruction by younger military officers. This period historically has a significant meaning.
