Following the example of the United States, Japanese companies have been appointing more independent outside directors in recent years. Independent outside directors are regarded as playing a key role in determining executive compensation and other managerial oversight functions. Prior research mostly supports this idea with respect to U.S. corporations. However, some studies are more skeptical. Therefore, in response to a prior study on U.S. corporations by Chhaochharia and Grinstein (2009), this paper takes a sample of 322 Japanese non-financial corporations in the TOPIX 500 index that met certain criteria and analyzes the effect that having more independent directors has had on executive compensation. However, unlike in prior studies, we did not observe a statistically significant effect. In fact, we saw that executive compensation levels were affected more by the structure of executive remuneration that is determined across a company as a whole than by the composition of its board of directors.

Japanese whisky now ranks as one of the five major whiskies in the world, but how did it come about? Suntory, which has won several prizes in international competitions since the beginning of the 21st century, was making many types of component whisky in the 1980s, when it was trying to deal with diversifying consumer needs and suffered from declining whisky sales. Ironically, these various malts led to the production of many high-quality blended whiskies, which are now winning prizes in international competitions.

沖縄県竹富町鳩間島は,西表島の北へ位置する人口約50人の島である。鳩間島では何度か,過疎化による廃校の危機に陥った。しかし,島外から子どもを受け入れ学校を維持してきた。その後,交通網の整備,民宿の増加,食堂の開業など受け入れ態勢が整い,観光客が急増した。研究目的は,鳩間島の今後の望ましい観光客数や観光客の増加による変化など,観光に対する住民意識を考察することである。調査の結果,ほとんどの住民は観光客の増加または現状維持を望み,その理由は,「活気づく」,「経済効果」などである。一方,ゴミ問題や一部の観光客のマナーなどによる環境の悪化などの回答もみられた。「鳩間島の観光名所,魅力」については,最も多い回答は海で,何もないところ,のんびりできるなどの回答も多い。

This paper analyzes 85 films portraying the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971 to examine howthe movies recorded, told, and asked the meaning of this war of independence. The relationshipbetween the state and the movies has been harmonically developed through the 20th century.After the birth of Bangladesh as a nation in 1971, their nation-building and participation in globalsociety have progressed simultaneously. While their national identity still strongly depends onthe history of the liberation war that occurred almost half a century ago, the movies continue totell the history to the people. Of course, the representation of the war has gradually evolved. Astime passes, war memories shift from direct experiences to indirect stories, eventually becominguniversal messages. At the same time, there have been some consistent themes throughout thewar movies, such as the rape of women and Islam. The movies stimulate the people's awarenessof their national identity, as a predominantly Bengali Muslim nation, through the story of the war.Meanwhile, the features of Bangladesh's art filmography, emphasizing the country's naturalbeauty, also appear in the series of movies. Thus, this paper discusses the cinematic representationof the Bangladesh Liberation War in terms of both ideological and artistic features.

大量のプログラムからソフトウェアの盗用を発見するために,ソフトウェアバースマークが提案されている.バースマークは,プログラム中の特徴を抽出し比較を行い盗用を発見する技術である.従来のバースマークで想定している対象のプログラム数は数百から数千程度であり,それを超えて比較する場合,現実的な時間では比較できない場合もある.そこで本稿では,対象となるプログラムの大幅なスケールアップかつ,盗用検出に要する処理時間の短縮を目的とする.そのために,対象プログラムの比較の前に,精度は高くないが高速に比較できる手法を用いて,無関係なプログラムを除外することを考える.これを絞り込み段階として,従来の抽出段階,比較段階の間に導入する.提案手法に基づき,バースマーク絞り込みシステムMitubaを構築し,実験を行った.評価項目は所要時間,絞り込み率,誤検出,検出漏れ,精度,そして,保存性の6項目である.結果は,盗用か否かを判定するための閾値が0.2のとき,所要時間は従来の40%以下に抑えられ,80%以上のプログラムが無関係と判定された.残ったプログラムのうち,誤検出は90%程度と非常に高いものの,検出漏れは0%であり,精度も70%以上となっている.また保存性評価においても,一番強力な難読化が施された場合であっても80%以上のプログラムを見つけ出せ,良好な結果を示している.これらの結果をもとに最適な閾値を議論した結果,標準的には0.6程度の閾値が最適であるが,ユーザの問題設定によっては,閾値が0.2でも本手法は有効であることを示した.

"本研究は,親しい関係にある男女が,どのようなデート状況において,どの程度の性行動を正当と考えるかを検討した。実験計画は,被験者の性別(男性,女性)×デートに誘う側(男性,女性からそれとなく,女性)×デート内容(映画,飲み会,相手のアパートへ,自分のアパートへ)の3要因被験者間計画であった。被験者は,大学生・短大生240名(男性120名,女性120名,平均年齢18.42歳)であった。従属変数は,性行動レベル別に,キス,ペッティング,性交の3測度であった。 3要因分散分析の結果,いずれの性行動測度においても,女性よりも男性のほうが,性行動を正当と認知していた。また,デート内容がより親密なものになるにつれて,性行動の正当性認知が高くなった。さらに,性行動レベルが進むにつれて,正当性の認知は低くなった。特にペッティングと性交については正当性認知が低かった。予想された被験者の性別とデートに誘う側の交互作用,3要因の交互作用は見いだされなかった。"

本分析は所得格差を中心に、各種政策がどのような特徴を持ち、影響をもたらすか、マクロモデルを構築して実証的に明らかにする。格差を対象とする分析では、家計における消費、収入等の構造が所得階級によって異なることをモデルに内生化する必要があり、「家計調査」の所得階級別データに依拠しながら、世帯を単位として階級別世帯収入、有業者数などを推計し、消費支出や労働供給を定式化する。一方、企業の分析では「法人企業統計調査」に依拠しながら、生産・販売、賃金や雇用の決定、投資等を製造業、非製造業に区分して定式化する。これらは、家計、マクロ経済と相互にリンクし、雇用、消費、GDPなどを決定する。このモデルを使って、最低賃金の引き上げ、教育費無償化、女性の労働参画、医療費負担軽減、従来型の公共投資政策という5つの政策を検証し、これらの政策が世帯収入、賃金、消費支出、GDP、雇用、格差にどう関わるかを評価する。
