We studied iron remobilization and nutrient regeneration in bottom water of Funka Bay, Japan, bimonthly from August 2010 to December 2011. The bay basin (bottom depth, 92-96 m) is separated from the northwest Pacific Ocean at its mouth by a sill with a depth of 60 m. After a spring phytoplankton bloom during early March-early April, nutrients in bay bottom water tended to accumulate with time until August-September, and to increase gradually with depth during April-October, by the oxidative decomposition of settling particulate organic matter on the bay bottom. In contrast, the process of iron remobilization into bottom water of the bay is remarkably different from nutrient regeneration. The much higher concentrations of dissolved and total dissolvable iron near the bottom and the seasonally variable relationship between dissolved iron concentration and apparent oxygen utilization in bay bottom water likely reflect a balance between dissolved iron input and removal processes within the bay bottom water. The release of soluble Fe(II) from reducing bay sediments might induce the high concentrations of dissolved and total dissolvable iron in deep-bottom waters of Funka Bay and might be one of the most important sources of iron in Funka Bay. The upward transport of iron from the bay bottom to the surface water during the winter vertical mixing may play an important role in the supply of bioavailable iron for phytoplankton growth in the coastal waters.

日本語を第一言語とする母語話者(NS)と第二言語とする非母語話者(NNS)の会話では、言語能力において強い立場にあるNSが会話のイニシアチブを取ると考えられてきたが、実際に教育現場でのやり取りを見ると、多様な参加の様相が見られる。本稿では、発話の連鎖の仕方から会話参加の様相を明らかにするイニシアチブ-レスポンス分析を用いて、留学生と日本人学生のペア5組の自由会話に見られる参加のパターンを探り、さらにミクロレベルの質的分析を通してそのパターンの背後にある特徴を調べた。その結果、2組のペアでパターンの一致(対称的参加)、3組にパターンの不一致(非対称的参加)が見られたことから、言語能力が参加の様相を決定するのではないこと、参加の対称性を左右するのは、談話推進のリソースとなる情報が両参加者から提供されるかどうかが重要であることがわかった。この結果から、自由会話という活動とNSとNNSの会話への参加の仕方に見られる特徴との関連を考察した。

腰痛症に対する鍼灸の効果と現状を総合テーマとして、 当該領域のレビューを行った。 <BR>はじめに西洋医学的な立場から特異的腰痛や非特異的腰痛の鑑別や治療効果を中心に紹介した。 次に、 鍼灸治療の治効機序に関して、 基礎研究の成果を文献に基づき紹介した。 最後に、 腰痛に対する鍼灸治療の臨床効果を文献に基づき解説し、 様々な腰痛に効果が示されていることを紹介した。 以上の結果から、 鍼灸治療は様々な腰痛に対して臨床効果が報告されているが、 特に非特異的な腰痛に対して有効である可能性が示唆された。

洋菓子店のWeb サイトに関する制作指針を検討した。最初に、検索エンジンとしてヤフーとグーグルを用いて112 の実店舗Webサイトを抽出した。抽出されたサイトに対して学生の評価をベースとして絞り込んだ9つのサイトについて別の学生集団による5段階評価を実施し、上位3つのサイトを選考した。また、これとは別に洋菓子店に関するアンケートを実施した。両方の結果を分析した結果、洋菓子店のサイトでは、ケーキの写真が決定的に重要であること、単品に偏らないこと、文字が多すぎないこと、リンク表示がわかりやすいこと、制作の舞台裏情報が分かること、駐車場情報が重要なこと、などいくつかのサイト制作指針が得られた。これらはいずれも常識的な指針と言えるが、そのような常識的な指針をはずしたサイトも多く見られた。

<p>j-parc加速器では主リングでの速い取り出しにおいて~400kWのビーム強度を達成している。一方で設計強度は750kWであり、ビームの加速・取り出しの高繰り返し化による高強度化を計画している。その際にはビームを偏向・収束させるための電磁石へ流す電流の時間変化を急峻にする必要がある。これによりビームダクト等に発生する渦電流が増加するが、それに伴い二つの懸案事項が考えられる。一つ目は磁石の励磁が妨げられる効果が大きくなる事である。二つ目はエミッタンス増大の原因となる非線形共鳴を励起する多極磁場成分の影響である。本講演では主に高繰り返し化の際のBM電磁石に発生する磁場の測定とシミュレーション結果について報告する。</p>

This study examined the hypothesis that a novel prolactin-like protein gene (PRL-L) is involved in cold-induced growth of skeletal muscle in chicks. Six-day-old chicks (Gallus gallus domesticus) were exposed to cold at 4 °C or kept warm at 30 °C for 24 h. Cold exposure induced significant increases in PRL-L expression that coincided with increases in the weight of the sartorius muscle, which comprises both fast- and slow-twitch fibers. Meanwhile, no induction of PRL-L mRNA was observed in the heart, liver, kidney, brain, or fat. Myoblast cells that expressed PRL-L mRNA grew faster than untransduced cells in media containing 2% serum. These results suggested that PRL-L might be involved in in controlling cold-induced muscle growth of chicks.

In 1857, Charles Dickens (1812-70) revisited the Marshalsea prison to look back upon the past and make a necessary atmosphere in Little Dorrit (1857). The Marshalsea prison was the place which Dickens could not forget in his lifetime. Dickens returned to his father's experience of debt again while he was drawing the portrait of the Father of the Marshalsea, William Dorrit, as 'a very amiable and very helpless middle-aged gentleman.' John Dickens, Charles's father, was a cheerful person but he had no sense of economy. He was imprisoned in the Marshalsea prison, and Charles had to work at Warren's Blacking warehouse, which gave him an agony and despair. Dickens seems to change the relationship between his father and him into the relationship between William Dorrit and Amy in Little Dorrit. William Dorrit who is called 'the Father of the Marshalsea prison, is proud of the title although he is a prisoner for debt. Amy as a 'Little mother' of his father and the chief support of the family, shows consideration for her father ; she is a protector of her father and his respectability. Indelibly marked by the more than twenty years to which the Circumlocution Office has condemned William Dorrit behind those walls, it is forever impossible for him, even when he is released, to lose those psychological scars. In Book 2, Chapter 19, 'The Storming of the Castle in the Air', William returns to the identity in the Marshalsea prison. William Dorrit who lived for many years, there is a victim of social system. Arthur who becomes a prisoner of the Marshalsea prison in Book 2, Chapter 27, is also a victim of social system. Arthur who has invested in the business of Merdle, goes bankrupt after he killed himself. Arthur is a victim of Calvinism which drives people to the condition of confinement, and is a prisoner of the wicked religion of Mrs. Clennam. Dickens showed how Arthur could be released from the cultural ideology of Calvinism which made him an indecisive man and how he could get freedom. In Book 2, Chapter 29, Amy visits Arthur who went bankrupt and became the prison of the Marshalsea prison. Amy gives him motherly love. What has to be noticed is that Amy says to Mrs. Clennam, 'Be guided only by the healer afflicted and forlorn, the patient Master who shed tears of compassion for our infirmities', before the house of Mrs. Clennam collapses. The words of Amy show the forgiveness of sin as a theme of Little Dorrit. Moreover, the representation of nature emphasizes the relief by Jesus Christ just before the house of Mrs. Clennam collapses : "From a radiant centre over the whole length and breadth of the tranquil firmament, great shoots of light streamed among the early stars, like signs of the blessed later covenant of peace and hope that changed the crown of thorns into glory." Amy delivers Arthur from the ideology of Calvinism which Mrs. Clennam brought him. In Little Dorrit, Dickens attacked the Christianity of Mrs. Clennam which deprived Arthur of his liberty and imprisoned his mind. Mrs. Clennam adopts Arthur, the love child of Mrs. Clennam and his love, to raise him in righteousness and retribution, but her Christianity which justifies her scheme of retribution does not bring her and Arthur happiness. Dickens demonstrated that people could be released from vengeful feelings by a practice of forgiveness of sin as Jesus Christ had done, through showing how Arthur could be released from the influence of the vengeful thoughts of Mrs. Clennam with the help of Amy.

黒鉛電極はその異方性構造により独特の電気化学挙動を示すことが知られている。例えば,黒鉛電極における電気二重層容量やヘテロ電子移動反応速度は金属電極のものとはまったく異なるが,これまで黒鉛の電気化学に特化した基礎研究が広く行われ理論的な説明がなされつつある。一方で,電気化学的手法により層間にイオンを挿入することができる点も黒鉛電極の特徴の1つである。しかし,このような反応が広く研究されるようになったのはリチウムイオン電池の実用化後であるため,その反応機構に関する基礎研究は不十分である。<br>本論文は,リチウムイオン電池の負極材料として用いられている黒鉛と電解液の界面における電気化学反応の機構および速度論に関する研究成果をまとめたもので,序論および3部7章で構成されている。第1部(第1章,第2章)では,種々の有機電解液中における黒鉛電極の電気化学特性を調べることにより,黒鉛電極へのリチウムイオン挿入反応の可否を決定する要因について議論した。第2部(第3章~第5章)では,黒鉛電極への電気化学的リチウムイオン挿入反応の活性化エネルギーを調べ,その決定要因を明らかにすることで,反応速度について議論した。第3部(第6章,第7章)では,黒鉛電極の電気化学的リチウム挿入反応サイト数について調べることにより,黒鉛電極/電解液界面におけるリチウムイオン挿入脱離反応の速度に影響を与える頻度因子項について議論した。

13歳雑種犬に左眼の第三眼瞼及び下眼瞼結膜の腫脹がみられ生検により脂肪組織が得られた.超音波及びCT検査で腫瘤は眼窩内深部から下眼瞼結膜下へ広がっていた.外科的牽引除去された組織は脂肪腫と病理診断され,良好な予後が得られた.

ODPG (OpenOffice.org & OpenDocument Format 利用推進グループ)は,民間企業を主体として,同様のOSS生産性ソフトウェアへの移行を推進するために設立された業界団体である.同団体の技術評価ワーキンググループでは,OpenOffice.org等の導入を支援することを目的として,組織におけるOSS生産性ソフトウェア導入の検討に必要な手続きや選択基準,評価方法の整備を進めた.本論文では,同ワーキンググループで検討した「商用ソフトウェアからの移行ガイドライン」および移行の効果,製品選択における評価のポイント等について論じる.
