It has been ten years since school counseling was installed into Japanese public schools. Their activities were, however, being restricted because of the several limitations. On this condition, primary protection should be focused on for school counselors to be more effective. For the first, in this article, we reviewed conventional activities that had already been conducted in school setting and that could be seen to have the characteristics of primary protection, respectively each for students, families and teachers. Secondary, we pointed out that these programs were not against the conventional Japanese education system, rather the ones that would help it. Thereafter, some of the primary protection programs that had not been prevailed yet, were introduced. Finally, in discussion, we indicated it important for school counselors to give teachers an idea of primary protection and suggested the way to install those programs into current Japanese educational setting.国立情報学研究所で電子化したコンテンツを使用している。

糖尿病患者ノ經過ヲ逐ヒテ胃液分泌状態ヲ比較セリ。胃液檢査ニハ酸度、酵素量測定ノ外色素排出試驗、「インシュリン」試驗ヲ併用セリ。本症ニ於テ初メ無酸度ナリシモノガ治療後ニ於テ分泌機能ノ回復シ來ルモノト然ラザルモノトアレドモ色素排泄ノ良否或ハ「インシユリン」注射ノ胃液分泌ヲ來スカ否カニヨリソノ何レニ屬スルカヲ略々豫測シ得ラル。尚斯ル見地ヨリ本症患者胃液分泌ヲ分類スルニ一般ニ無酸或ハ低酸ヲ示スモノ多ク、而モソノ假面性ナルモノハ比較的少數ナルガ如シ。(自抄)

空間・エネルギー効果を考慮した3次中性子相関法の理論式を、高次検出器インポータンスを用いて、見通しの良いコンパクト表現で導出した。これに基づく未臨界度の表式は、従来の実効増倍率や未臨界反応度と異なる。その特徴を数値計算例で示す。

Within the cochlea, broadband sounds like speech and music are filtered into a series of narrowband signals, each with a relatively slowly varying envelope (ENV) imposed on a rapidly oscillating carrier (the temporal fine structure, TFS). Information about ENV and TFS is conveyed in the timing and short-term rate of action potentials in the auditory nerve. This paper describes the role of ENV and TFS information in pitch perception, binaural processing, and the perception of speech in the presence of background sounds. The paper also describes the effects of hearing loss and age on the processing of TFS and ENV information. The monaural and binaural processing of TFS information is adversely affected by both hearing loss and increasing age. The monaural processing of ENV information is little affected by hearing loss or by increasing age. The binaural processing of ENV information deteriorates somewhat with increasing age but is not markedly affected by hearing loss. The reduced TFS processing abilities found for older/hearing-impaired subjects may partially account for the difficulties that such subjects experience in complex listening situations.

Person‒Centered Therapy(以後PCT と略す)において非指示性(Nondirectiveness)は重要であるが、同じPCT の内部においても、その重要さに関する考え方に違いがある。ここでは2 人の論客Cain, D. J. とGrant, B. との間で起こった論争を紹介する。まずCain が、クライエント(以後Cl と略す)の中には心理的成長の上でセラピスト(以後Th と略す)の非指示性が促進的でない場合にまで非指示性に拘るのはパーソン・センタードとは言えない、と論じる。それに対してGrant が、非指示性には道具的なそれと、原理的なそれとがあり、道具的非指示性がCain のようにCl の成長促進の道具として非指示性を活用するものであるのに対し、原理的非指示性はCl を尊重しているかどうかが焦点であり、原理的な方こそ、Client‒Centered Therapy(以後CCT と略す)の中心的な意義である、と主張する。それに対しCain は、Grant の言う原理的非指示性におけるCl への尊重という考え方は、Th という、いわば外側からの仮説に過ぎず、それが本当にCl にとって良いものかどうかは分からない、と批判する。これらの議論は、Cl の成長になるようにTh が対応を変えて対応すべきという主張と、Cl の成長をTh が判断するのではなく今のCl をそのまま尊重すべきという主張のぶつかり合いであり、CCT/PCT の本質を問うものである。両者の議論からは、こうした問いがPCT の今後も続く哲学的な大きな課題であろうことが示唆される。

Komezuka Volcano, located in the northwestern part of the post-caldera central cones of Aso Volcano, SW Japan, is a basaltic monogenetic volcano comprising a scoria cone (370-380m in basal diameter; 80m in height) and lava flows (10.5km2; 5×107m3). We obtained 14C ages of 3,070±40 years BP from a buried soil below silty ash underlying Komezuka lava, which corresponds to 3,370-3,210cal years BP, and 2,760±40 years BP (2,950-2,770cal years BP) from a soil above silty ash overlying Komezuka lava. The age of soil below the lava suggests that the eruption age of Komezuka Volcano is about 3,300cal years BP. The eruption age is consistent with the age of Ojodake Volcano (3,600cal years BP) whose lava underlies Komezuka lava. In the northwestern part of the post-caldera central cones, Late Holocene monogenetic volcanic activity commenced with sub-plinian eruptions and lava extrusion from Kishimadake Volcano at approximately 4,000cal years BP, followed by sub-plinian eruptions and lava extrusion from Ojodake Volcano at 3,600cal years BP, and ceased with strombolian eruptions and lava extrusion from Komezuka Volcano at 3,300cal years BP.

A radical substitution reaction of 20(S)-camptothecin (1) with methanol furnished 7-hydroxymethylcamptothecin (2). Reaction of 1 with primary alcohols higher than methanol gave 7-alkylcamptothecins (4), of which alkyl groups were one carbon less than the alcohols used and also 7-hydroxyalkylcamptothecins (5). For the preparation of 7-alkylcamptothecin (4), aldehydes were used as a radical source and several alkylated derivatives were synthesized. 7-Acyloxymethyl derivatives (6), 7-carbaldehyde (7), iminomethyl derivatives (10), acid (11), esters (12) and amides (13) were synthesized starting from 2. 7-Ethyl-(4b) and 7-propylcamptothecin (4c), acyloxymethyl compounds 6a, 6c and ethyl ester (12b) exhibited higher antitumor activity than 1 against L1210 in mice.

In the reinvestigation of the constituents of Uncaria rhynchophylla MIQ. (Japanese name "kagikazura"), the presence of two oxindole alkaloids, corynoxeine and isocorynoxeine, was demonstrated, besides the reported rhynchophylline and isorhynchophylline.3) Furthermore, four indole alkaloids were newly isolated ; hirsutine, hirsuteine, dihydrocorynantheine, and corynantheine. A chemical structural evidence of hirsutine was obtained from its epimerization to dihydrocorynantheine with acetic acid catalysis.

Quantitative analysis of the tertiary alkaloids in various parts of Uncaria rhynchophylla MIQ. was made by use of high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The best result was obtained in the following conditions : column ; Radial Pak C8 and mobile phase ; CH3CN-0.05M AcONH4 buffer (pH 4.0) [90 : 10]. The result revealed that the constitution of the alkaloids varied markedly depending on the botanical parts examined. While oxindole alkaloids (1, 2, 3 and 6) occupy ca. 97% of total alkaloids in hook, small stem and leaf, respectively, content of indole alkaloids (mainly 8 and 10) is almost exclusive (ca. 96%) in the bark of underground part. In the bark of aerial part both oxindole and indole alkaloids were found to be contained in nearly equal amounts. The alkaloidal content is very low in the wood (aerial or underground part) but the content ratios of rare alkaloids (4 and 7) to the total alkaloids are higher than the other parts.

With the increase of wind power penetration in power system, the uncertainty caused by wind farm forecast error is enlarged which results in deterioration of wind power curtailment. In order to optimize the capacity of battery storage for mitigating forecast error, firstly it is necessary to improve the accuracy of forecast error model. This paper proposed a modeling method of forecast error time series in usage of beta distribution. Varying with forecast output, parameters of the beta distribution are estimated by maximum likelihood estimation. Autocorrelated forecast error obeying beta distribution is generated by correlated Monto-Carlo simulation. Based on the forecast error model, an optimization method is proposed to determine the optimum size of battery storage for mitigating forecast error. Through maximizing the total profit composed of electricity sales revenue, penalty and battery cost, the optimum size of battery storage is calculated. The results show that the forecast error model proposed in this paper is able to simulate both probability density function and autocorrelation correctly, which is beneficial to improving the accuracy and economy of battery storage sizing.
