女子大学生25名を対象として,7日間の食事調査を実施し,積み上げ法によるトランス脂肪酸摂取量を計算した。さらに,そのうちの特定の1日を選び,調査者側で食事を再現した。得られた食事サンプルはフードカッターで細砕し均一化後,脂質およびトランス脂肪酸含有量を分析した。計算,あるいは実測から求められた総トランス脂肪酸摂取量の平均値(±標準偏差値)は,それぞれ,0.95±0.31 g,1.17±0.84 gであった。総トランス脂肪酸摂取量の分布は正の歪度を示し,はずれ値が1名(2.82 g),極値が2名(3.13 g,3.27 g)であった。若年女性のトランス脂肪酸摂取量はWHOの基準値であるエネルギー比率1%未満を下回っており,したがって,トランス脂肪酸摂取の血清脂質に対する影響は懸念されるものではないと考えられる。しかしながら,トランス脂肪酸を高濃度に含む加工食品を摂取することで,1日のトランス脂肪酸摂取量が予測の範囲より高くなる可能性のあることが明らかとなった。

Two complete dog skeletons were recovered during archeological excavations from 1961 to 1970 at the Kamikuroiwa rock shelter, a site that yielded a series of cultural entities from the Late Pleistocene, Incipient Jomon, and Early Jomon periods. Since two dogs were buried close to human skeletons, it was thought that these dogs had been buried by Jomon people, and hence provided the oldest direct evidence of Canis domestication in Japan. However, the stratigraphic information and archeological contexts of these dog skeletons are incomplete due to the lack of detailed excavation reports and technical limitations of excavations at this site. Because the date of the dog burials has not been fully discussed in the context of modern chronology or recent discussions on Canis domestication, we directly measured radiocarbon ages and stable isotope analysis on two dog burials and one set of human remains from the Kamikuroiwa rock shelter. These data are important for reconstructing the relationship between humans and dogs in the Jomon period. Our results show that the human thought to have been buried with the dogs was assigned to the middle Initial Jomon period (8977–8725 calBP), whereas, on the other hand, dates for the dog burials are very close to each other and were assigned to the latest Initial Jomon or the initial Early Jomon periods (7414–7273 calBP). Although these results are not consistent with previous archeological interpretations for this site, they remain important because these two dog burials are among the oldest evidence of Canis domestication in East Asia.

This article is a chronological record of the life of Nakahara Ariyasu, written in the form of Ariyasu's diary. This diary itself does not actually exist, and in this sense the account is fictional.Nakahara Ariyasu was a musician who served under Kujo Kanezane (1149-1207) from the end of the Heian period to the beginning of the Kamakura period. He taught the biwa to Kanezane, as well as to Kamo no Chomei. A record of his statements and teaching about the biwa, organized and classified by one of his students, exists in the form of Kokin kyoroku. The present author has described its contents and expression in Vols. 1 and 3 of Jochi daigaku kokubunka kiyo (“Bulletin of the Japanese Literature Department of Sophia University”). This article follows on these previous articles as a chronological record of Ariyasu's life. The reasons why it has been written in the form of a diary are, firstly, to demonstrate the close connection between the range of Ariyasu's life and art, and the political stance as well as religious and cultural activities of the Kujo clan, and secondly, by superimposing the daily activities of Ariyasu and Kanezane, to contrast in concrete terms the difference in meaning that music and dance had to the two men, a musician and a noble respectively.Kujo Kanezane was the son of the Kanpaku (Regent) Fujiwara no Tadamichi, and became Utaisho (Major Captain of the Right) in Oho 1st year (1161) at the age of thirteen, later ascending to Naidaijin (Great Minister of the Centre), Udaijin (Great Minister of the Right), Sessho (Regent for an Emperor who is still a minor) in Bunji 2nd year (1186) and finally Kanpaku (Regent) in Kenkyu 2nd year (1191). He fell from power in Kenkyu 7th year (1196), and died in Jogen 1st year (1207) at the age of 59.Ariyasu served in the Kujo clan from the time when Kanezane was Utaisho, but at the same time held a number of official posts. According to surviving records, he held at various times the following posts: Minbu-no-jo, Minbu-no-daifu Hida-no-kami, Chikuzenno-kami, and Gakusho-no-azukari.The time during which this master and servant lived was one of great disturbances. The Hogen and Heiji Insurrections (1156 and 1160 respectively) were followed by the Genpei War, the great war between the Minamoto and Taira clans of 1180-85 that resulted in the victory of the Minamoto. The capital Kyoto was ravaged by great fires, earthquakes, and famines, and political power was steadily passing from the hands of the nobles to those of the warrior class. Kanezane's diary, Gyokuyo, gives a detailed description of movements in the contemporary political scene, and is of immeasurable value as historical source material. There is no source more valuable than this, too, for investigating the state of cultural aspects of the time, such as ceremony, religion, waka poetry, and music.Kanezane's concept of the ideal member of the noble class envisaged a person with grace who balanced equal ability in the fields of politics, ceremony, literature and the performing arts. Looking at examples from the latter field at the end of the Heian period, we can note the Cloistered Emperor Goshirakawa, who showed an almost deranged fascination for the popular vocal form imayo, while the famous musician Myonon-in Fujiwara no Moronaga devoted all of his energies to completing a comprehensive study and documentation of the gagaku, especially kangen, tradition. This attitude of becoming overly preoccupied with a single thing differed from Kanezane's ideal. This was rather a person who possessed the finest knowledge, understanding and discernment in a wide range of fields, from politics to literature and music, and who showed no special partiality towards any of them. Because of the increasing use of fluoroscopy in treating femoral neck fractures, we should recognize the radiation risk to orthopaedic surgeons and paramedical staff. Using a digital dosimeter, we directly measured the radiation exposure to the neck of the staff. Although the dose of radiation was low, cavalier use of fluoroscopy is to be condemned, because no one has yet accurately determined whether low-dose radiation is harmful.

従来の紙版の国語辞典はコンパクトにまとめることが優先され,用例の記述は厳選され,必要最小限にとどめられていた.しかし,電子化編集が容易になり,電子化された国語辞典データや種々のコーパスが活用できるようになった今,豊富な用例を増補した電子化版国語辞典の構築が可能になった.そうした電子化版国語辞典は,人にも計算機にも有用性の高いものと期待される.著者らはその用例記述の際に見出し語のもつ文体的特徴を明記する方法を提案し,より利用価値の高い,電子化版の「コーパスベース国語辞典」の構築を目指している.文体的特徴の記述は,語の理解を助け,文章作成時にはその語を用いる判断の指標になり得るため,作文指導や日本語教育,日本語生成処理といった観点からの期待も高い.本論文では,古さを帯びながらも現代語として用いられる「古風な語」を取り上げる.これに注目する理由は,三点ある.一点目は,現代語の中で用いられる「古風な語」は少なくないにも関わらず,「古語」にまぎれ辞書記述に取り上げ損なってしまう危険性のあるものであること.二点目は,その「古風な語」には,文語の活用形をもつなど,その文法的な扱いに注意の必要なものがあること.三点目は,「古さ」という文体的特徴を的確かつ,効果的に用いることができるよう,十分な用法説明が必要な語であるということ,である.そこで,本論文では,これら三点に留意して「古風な語」の用法をその使用実態に即して分析し,その辞書記述を提案する.はじめに,現行国語辞典5種における「古風な語」の扱いを概観する.次に,「古風な語」の使用実態を『現代日本語書き言葉均衡コーパス』に収録される図書館サブコーパスを用いて分析し,「古風な語」の使用を,(1) 古典の引用,(2) 明治期から戦前まで,(3) 時代・歴史小説,(4) 現代文脈,に4分類する.そして,その 4 分類に基づく「コーパスベース国語辞典」の辞書記述方法を提案する.このような辞書記述は例えば,作文指導や日本語教育,日本語生成処理の際の語選択の参考になるものと期待される.

The temporal resolution of a two-photon excitation laser scanning microscopy (TPLSM) system is limited by the excitation laser beam’s scanning speed. To improve the temporal resolution, the TPLSM system is equipped with a spinning-disk confocal scanning unit. However, the insufficient energy of a conventional Ti:sapphire laser source restricts the field of view (FOV) for TPLSM images to a narrow region. Therefore, we introduced a high-peak-power Yb-based laser in order to enlarge the FOV. This system provided three-dimensional imaging of a sufficiently deep and wide region of fixed mouse brain slices, clear four-dimensional imaging of actin dynamics in live mammalian cells and microtubule dynamics during mitosis and cytokinesis in live plant cells.

The purpose of this paper is to define art through systems theory and in terms of social motivation. On the basis of social function in systems theory, I try to examine the motivation of art as a system that functions in a way that cannot be achieved by other social systems (politics, economy, law, etc.). First, I describe problems with three approaches in previous art studies that do not sufficiently compare art with other systems and their functions. Second, I treat the motivation of art as entertainment from an alternative perspective, because certain social demands cannot be supplied through other systems. Finally, I consider how art influences other systems and themes in contemporary society.

インターネット経由でビジネス情報提供を手がける日経テレコンはサービス開始から30周年を迎えた節目の2014年4月に,自動記事分類技術という新しい技術を導入したナビゲーション型の記事検索インターフェース「ナビ型記事検索」をリリースした。従来のキーワードによる全文検索に比べて,検索結果の適合率を大幅に改善すると同時に,利用者が自分の意図を反映しながら検索結果を絞り込んでいくことができる,新しい検索スタイルを提案するものである。本稿では,「ナビ型記事検索」を使った検索手法を紹介しながら,それを支えている自動記事分類技術の概要と検索用インデックスの生成処理についても解説する。

In order to investigate the formation mechanism of community activity, we constructed an agent-based model based on a scenario driven by subjective norm and self-efficacy utilizing a community task game. The model demonstrated the spontaneous formation of community activity. The formation and expansion were driven by two mechanisms: (1) self-efficacy maintained participation of agents having a neutral attitude towards community activity, (2) subjective norm caused an increase in participation by involving other adjacent neutral attitude agents. We suggest a reasonable strategy promoting the spontaneous formation of community activity on the basis of this mechanism.

わが国の高齢化は歴史上類を見ない速度で進行しており、年々医療を必要とする高齢者は増加の一途をたどっている。しかも、医療施設は地域を中心に年々閉鎖を余儀なくされ、この10年間で約8,000施設にまで減少した。医療の発展とともに人々が最後の時を過ごす場所が自宅から医療施設へと大きく変遷しており、例え在宅医療が可能であっても人的資源が減少する中いったい誰が高齢家族の介護や看取りをするのか。またそれにかかる経費をどのように捻出するのかなど、深刻に老後の暮らしを危惧しなければならない。そこでその対策として、以前より、栄養状態の改善による診療成績の向上と、在宅移行を含む地域医療連携の充実や地域完結型医療の推進などを提案し、栄養管理をわが国の社会福祉・医療体制の基盤とすべく努力してきた。本稿では、将来の社会状況をふまえて患者の幸せな暮らしを第一と考え、医療の内外におよぶ在宅栄養管理の実践について論じる。

This review summarizes new findings related to beneficial effects of melatonin (N-acetyl-5-methoxytryptamine) on reproductive physiology. Recently many researchers have begun to study the local role of melatonin as an antioxidant. We focused on intra-follicular role of melatonin in the ovary. Melatonin, secreted by the pineal gland, is taken up into the follicular fluid from the blood. Reactive oxygen species (ROS) are produced within the follicles, during the ovulatory process. Melatonin reduces oxidative stress as an antioxidant, and contribute to oocyte maturation, embryo development and luteinization of granulosa cells. Our clinical study demonstrated that melatonin treatment for infertile women increases intra-follicular melatonin concentrations, reduces intra-follicular oxidative damage, and elevates fertilization and pregnancy rates. Melatonin treatment also improves progesterone production by corpus luteum in infertile women with luteal phase defect. Melatonin treatment could become a new cure for improving oocyte quality and luteal function in infertile women.

J-GLOBAL knowledgeは,文献,特許,研究者などさまざまな科学技術情報をセマンティックWebに適合した記述モデルであるRDF(Resource Description Framework)で記述し,RDFの問い合わせ言語であるSPARQLにより検索することを可能としたサービスである。今回その中の化学物質データ(日化辞RDFデータ)をクリエイティブ・コモンズ・ライセンスCC BYのもと一般公開した。またNBDCと連携して,標準的なオントロジーを用いた日化辞RDFデータの変換,化学物質データベース間のマッピング情報を取り扱うUniChemへ日化辞データの提供を行い,日化辞を含む国内外の主要な化学物質データベースを対象としたSPARQL検索やデータのマッシュアップを可能とした。さらに日化辞をハブとしてライフサイエンス系データベースの化学物質情報を統合する基盤の整備を行った。

Canine melanoma is one of the most important diseases in small animal medicine. Protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A), a well conserved serine/threonine phosphatase, plays a critical role as a tumor suppressor. SET/I2PP2A is an endogenous inhibitor for PP2A, which directly binds to PP2A and suppresses its phosphatase activity. Elevated SET protein levels have been reported to exacerbate human tumor progression. The role of SET in canine melanoma, however, has not been understood. Here, we investigated the potential therapeutic role for SET inhibitors in canine melanoma. The expression of SET protein was observed in 6 canine melanoma cell lines. We used CMeC-1 cells (primary origin) and CMeC-2 cells (metastatic origin) to generate cell lines stably expressing SET-targeting shRNAs. Knockdown of SET expression in CMeC-2, but not in CMeC-1, leads to decreased cell proliferation, invasion and colony formation. Phosphorylation level of p70 S6 kinase was decreased by SET knockdown in CMeC-2, suggesting the involvement of mTOR (mammalian target of rapamycin)/p70 S6 kinase signaling. The SET inhibitors, OP449 and FTY720, more effectively killed CMeC-2 than CMeC-1. We observed PP2A activation in CMeC-2 treated with OP449 and FTY720. These results demonstrated the potential therapeutic application of SET inhibitors for canine melanoma.
