インターフェロン(IFN)治療中に精神症状を呈したC型慢性活動性肝炎の2例を報告した.症例1は44歳,男性.トランスアミナーゼの異常,HCV抗体陽性を認めたためHLBIを投与した.開始当初,発熱,食欲不振が出現,遅れて13日目より不眠,抑鬱症状が出現し,さらに自殺企図,被害妄想も認めた.それ故,投与を中止し,抗精神薬で徐々に改善した.症例2は34歳,女性.トランスアミナーゼの異常,HCV-RNA陽性を認めたため,IFN-α投与を関始した.当初,発熱,悪寒,倦怠感,食思不振が出現し,4日目から不眠,焦燥感も出現した.精神安定剤を併用したところ,症状は改善し,IFN投与を終了しえた.<BR>IFNは,慢性肝炎に対する通常量でも,稀ながら精神症状を呈する例もあるため,IFN治療中は充分な注意が必要である.

Professor Gisaku Nakamura not only distinguished himself as a computer scientist but also is well recognized as a "puzzle" scholar and collector of Ukiyoe art. He is also said to be quite unique and interesting in his ways of thinking and behavior. This paper examines what makes him stand out, paying special attention to his identity and career.

Professor Mitsuru Yamazaki distinguished himself as an economist specializing in local industries in Japan. As a "star" professor at the University of Shizuoka, he was also quite popular both in the mass media and among students. In 1993, however, he suddenly died at the age of 59. Why was he so popular? What was he most interested in ? What did he want to accomplish in his life? What kind of career did he pursue and how did he develop his identity? In this essay, I explored the answers to these questions in my own way. I had worked with Professor Yamazaki in urban planning committees for three years. We also co-authored a book, "Three Major Cities in the Shizuoka Prefecture," which makes a comparison of Hamamatsu, Shizuoka, and Numazu, three of the major cities in the Shizuoka Prefecture. In this sense, I may have had opportunities to observe Professor Yamazaki a little more closely than other colleagues of mine. Moreover, I have been contributing a series of cartoons, "Professor Challenge," to the official bulletin of our School and Professor Yamazaki also appeared in the cartoons eight times. In the essay, I presented the cartoons chronologically to use them as subtitles. I also added facts and episodes related to the cartoons, whereby I tried to conjure up the whole image of Professor Yamazaki as an individual.

This essay presents the profiles of nine foreign teachers and professors on campus at the University of Shizuoka based on interviews with them. The questions include: Why did they come to Japan?; how did they decide to be a teacher or professor and what do they think of teaching?; what does it mean for them to live in Japan?; how well do they adjust themselves to Japanese culture? In short, what kind of careers have they pursued and how have they affected their sense of identity? It was found that many of them were teaching foreign languages, married with Japanese, and thinking of teaching as their calling. Although they were often put into a cross-cultural dilenma in everyday life, they seemed to be fairly well-adjusted to Japanese culture.

映画制作を支援する複合現実型可視化技術MR-PreVizにおいて,一連の複雑なアクションを,あらかじめ動作ごとに分解し収録しておいた基本要素から合成できればきわめて有用である.本論文では,プロの殺陣師である中村健人氏の協力のもと,我々が定義した時代劇剣戟アクションの基本要素データについて,および基本要素から複雑な剣劇アクションを生成する手法について述べる.In MR-PreViz, which supports filmmaking using mixed reality techniques, it is useful to realize synthesis of complicated action scenes from action building blocks which are archived in advance. This paper describes building blocks of sword fight actions which were defined by us in conjunction with a professional action coordinator, Taketo Nakamura and our synthesizing method of complicated sword fight action scenes from action building blocks.

雑談のような非タスク志向型の対話システムは会話の流れが複雑になるため,対話の表面的な部分にしか触れない人工無脳的なアプローチでは実現が困難である.そこで,本研究では実際の人間同士の対話を参考にして,発言の種類や対話の流れを具体的に定義した対話のモデルを作成し,それを対話システムに利用するアプローチを検討した.この対話モデルにより,限定的ではあるが,人の対話の流れを網羅することができ,これを対話システムに応用することで,非タスク志向型の対話を行う対話システムの知識の利用や会話の流れの制御をより柔軟なものにすることが可能となった.

This is a study of the penetration process of CATV, decision-making processes in successful and unsuccessful acceptance of it in families, and satisfaction with it. These were investigated by a survey in a CATV system area near Tokyo. This was the first attempt at such a survey, and several interesting findings were obtained. Observed decision-making processes leading to successful acceptance are strongly consensus-oriented. In the average CATV subscriber family, the number negative to acceptance was only seven percent. Presence of a negative opinion in a family were highly likely to lead to unsuccessful acceptance. These findings suggest that the attractiveness of CATV would be rather weak, in addition to a slightly high application cost for the average consumer. Customer satisfaction analysis shows that subscribers are divided into several groups sensitive to the different types of usefulness of CATV. These results suggest that different types of promotional paths of CATV would be effective.

学術用語"eigenvalue"は,固有値問題などに現れる「固有値」に対する用語として現在英語圏でよく使われている.しかし,"eigen"という冠頭の言葉は,もともとドイツ語で「固有の」または「特有の」という意味を表す言葉である.そこで,「固有値」に対する学術用語として"eigenvalue"が現在英語圏で何故使われているかを入手資料を元に考察する.As you know well, in English the word of 'eigenvalue' is often used in the eigenvalue problem as compared with the other words, e.g. 'proper value' and 'characteristic value'. Then we become to have the following questions from this tendency. Who used first the word of 'eigenvalue' ? Who influenced greatly to the spread of 'eigenvalue' ? In this article, one answer will be shown based upon consideration from a number of references.

北海道函館市において,これまで青森県以北には分布しないとされていたアブラコウモリ Pipistrellus abramus を捕獲した.捕獲個体は妊娠しており,本種が北海道内で繁殖をしていることも確認された.また,外部形態やエコロケーションコールの構造は本州産の本種とほぼ同じであった.今後,本種の北海道内における分布の拡大が注目される.
