Comparative-primatologically, Gestalt of human society has the methodological indeterminacy, because of his peculiar anthropological ενεργεια-dominating-δυναμιζ-complex: Political Integration in the development.Political Integration is one thing, Social Integration is the other: the latter is naturally given due to each bio-behavioral characteristics of each genus; the former, to be artificially and specific anthropologically produced through the mutually intermediating formation of both social productivity and Dominance-Subjugation category.The Relationship of Dominance-Subjugation is, however commonplace it may seem, the organizational-historical category sui generis of human society, the uncritically generalized application allover non-human spheres of which is quite anthropomorphological error.But, Dominance must be institutionalized, logically: because of the necessity of feed-back for its own survival, and socio-physically: because of the socio-physical υλη of Dis-Communicative Cybernetical Control of Dominance itself. In fact, the social possibility of political resistance depends upon the socio-physical reality of dis-communicative resistance effect.Behavioral-functionally speaking, any kind of social activity is, in each way, some Dis-Communicative Cybernetical Control Matrix, formed and developed with and in the formation and development of the organizational-historical category of Dominance-Subjugation.Now, the optimal control of Dis-Communicative Cybernetics at the optimal Dis-Communicative degree is to be achieved, not so much positivistically, as dialectically: neither verifiable nor falsifiable, but only shifting the responsibility of verification to another.Accordingly, the production of the social values in Dis-Communicative Cybernetical Control Matrix cannot help dialectically transforming itself into the production of the social non-values as well, accompanied and emphasized by the constant possibility of shifting the responsibilities, which is never seen in non-human society upon Social Integration only.Nevertheless or just therefore, Political Integration as the condition of the possiblity, of human society, neither yet completely established nor yet sufficiently evolved even in such form as modern sovereign state, is the most fundamental political problem.Behaviorism, taking Political Integration for granted too much, has been concerned only with ενεργεια of human society, which remains methodologically to be analyzed in the framework of ενεργεια-dominating-δυναμιζ-complex.

1) 米飯から調製する粥の物性には米飯の加水量の影響が大きく, 米飯の保存方法の影響は小さかった.2) いずれの米飯粥も加熱時間が長くなるにつれて付着性は増加する傾向を示したが, 粥飯粒自体は軟化傾向を, おもゆを含むとかたさは増加傾向を示した.3) 加水量の多い米飯を利用した1.7倍粥では米飯の吸水率は少なく, 分離液 (おもゆ) の粘性は小さかった. かたさ, みかけの破断応力も低い傾向にあり, 粥飯粒の外観は10分加熱ですでに過度に膨潤しており, 崩れが観察された.4) 加水量1.5倍, 1.3倍の米飯から調製した粥は, 1.7倍粥に比較してかたさ, みかけの破断応力, 分離液の粘性は高い傾向にあり, 粥飯粒の外観は米粥に似ていた.5) 官能検査において, いずれの米飯粥も20分加熱で米粥に近い性状であると評価された. 1.7倍米飯粥のみは20分加熱しても有意に水っぽいと評価され, 物性測定の結果に対応していた.

富山県の常願寺川流域を対象として,過去およそ100年間の侵蝕,堆積とそれによる地形変化の過程を追究した. 1) 常願寺川上流部にある河岸段丘(第2図)は,主として土石流砂礫層から作られており,土石流で埋積された谷がふたたび刻まれて生じたものである.この土石流砂礫層は, 1858年の「大鳶崩れ」といわれる変災時の絵図記録を検討してみると,このときに発生した大土石流の堆積物である. 2) 1858年の土石流は,地震のために源流部の立山カルデラの一部(鳶崩れと本文で呼んだ部分)が大規模に崩れて生じたもので,下流部の扇状地,三角州まで流下形態をほとんど変えずに流下した・しかし土石流の主要な部分は上流部(海抜550m以上の部分)にとどまり,谷を深く埋めた.このため埋積谷の縦断形の傾斜は増した. 3) 1858年の変災以後,崩壊地から供給される岩屑が少なくなるにつれて,埋積谷の侵蝕は,上流部,とくに,谷の合流により流量がかなり増し,しかも河床傾斜の大きい部分から始まつた.崩壊地から4km以下の高位段丘で,土石流砂礫層の上にのり,やや円磨され,成層した砂礫層はこの開析初期の土石流砂礫層の2次的堆積物である.この上流の部分から始まつた下方侵蝕はさらに上流へ谷頭を後退させたばかりでなく,下流へも進行した.回春谷の上流部の河床は土石流の堆積直後から急速に低下し,下流部の河床は一時2次的堆積物によつて上昇した後に,相対的にはゆつくりと低下した. 4) 1858年に発生した土石堆積物の量はおよそ4.1×108m3,それ以後100年間の侵蝕物の量はおよそ2.1×108m3,このうち約10%が扇状地に堆積し,天井川を作つた. 5) 常願寺川における過去100年間の,山地の大崩壊を契機とする谷の侵蝕は,谷底部の著しい地形変化をひき起して,急速に進んだ.そしてこのことがこの川の砂防を難しくした.

学習障害 (learning disability; LD) およびその周辺の病態を明らかにするため, LD, 注意欠陥/多動性障害 (attention deficit hyperactive disorders; ADHD), 精神遅滞 (mental retardation; MR), 自閉症および対照群で1日蓄尿中の尿中3-methoxy-4-hydroxyphenylglycol (MHPG), phenylethylamine (PEA) を測定した.LD (N=6), ADHD (N=16), MR (N=4), 自閉症 (N-5), 対照群 (N-6) のMHPG値は差がなかった.LD (N-6), ADHD (N-5), 対照群 (N=3) のPEA値は91±17.3, 65±53, 6,340±264.5と3群間で有意差があり (p=0.0187), LD, ADHDで有意にPEAが低値を示した.PEAはADHD治療薬のmethylphenidate類似の物質であり, 代謝上重要と考えられた.

FliF is the protein comprising the MS-ring of the bacterial flagellar basal body, which is the base for the assembly of flagellar axial structures. From a fliF mutant that easily releases the rod-hook-filament in viscous environments, more than 400 revertants that recovered their swarming ability in viscous conditions, were isolated. The second-site mutations were determined for approximately 70% of them. There were three regions where the mutations were localized: two in Region I, 112 in Region II, and 71 in Region III including the true reversion. In Region I, second-site mutations were found in FlgC and FlgF of the proximal rod, suggesting that they affect the interaction between the MS-ring and the rod. In Region II, there were 69 and 42 mutations in MotA and MotB, respectively, suggesting that the second-site mutations in MotA and MotB may decrease the rotational speed of the flagellar motor to reduce the probability of releasing the rod under this condition. One exception is a mutation in FlhC that caused a down regulation of the flagellar proteins production but it may directly affect transcription or translation of motA and motB. In Region III, there were 44, 24, and 3 mutations in FliG, FliM, and FliF, respectively. There were no second-site mutations identified in FliN although it is involved in torque generation as a component of the C-ring. Many of the mutations were involved in the motor rotation, and it is suggested that such reduced speeds result in stabilizing the filament attachment to the motor.

Eisenhardt (1989) is one of the most frequently cited studies on the methodological fundamentals of the case study for theory construction. This paper will first summarize the methodology espoused by Eisenhardt (1989). Eisenhardt suggests nine steps for conducting a case study as an effective research method for theory construction. However, most of the research that cites Eisenhardt only emphasizes generalizability. To be sure, Eisenhardt (1989) takes a stance of positivism and has an awareness of quantitative empirical research. However, he does not necessarily advocate only generalizability. Regardless, some studies that have drawn on Eisenhardt (1989) have emphasized only generalizability. This has the potential of restricting theory construction using case studies.

Trachelospermi caulis is used widely as an herbal medicine in oriental countries to attenuate fever and pain. We wished to reveal the novel function of this herb and its active component on barrier function in intestinal epithelial cells. Monolayers of intestinal epithelial cells (Caco-2) were used to evaluate the transepithelial electrical resistance (TEER) and quantity of permeated ovalbumin (OVA) as indices of barrier function. T. caulis increased TEER values on cell monolayers and decreased OVA permeation across cell monolayers. To ascertain the active component of T. caulis, the extract was isolated to five fractions, and the effect of each of these fractions on intestinal barrier function examined. Chloroform and ethyl acetate fractions showed increased TEER values and decreased OVA flux. Chloroform and ethyl acetate fractions contained mainly trachelogenin and its glycoside, tracheloside. Trachelogenin increased TEER values and decreased OVA flux by enhancing the tight-junction protein occludin (but not tracheloside) in Caco-2 monolayers. These findings demonstrated that trachelogenin, an active component of T. caulis, might help to attenuate food allergy or inflammatory bowel disease through inhibition of allergen permeation or enhancement of the intestinal barrier.

Radiation-induced cancer is one of the key issues in a consequence analysis on a Nuclear Power Plant accident. U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (USNRC) developed the estimation model of those risks for the use of accident consequence analysis in 1980s and 1990s. This model is still used as a leading model in this field. In this paper, we aimed to explore the differences between the results of risk prediction from the model of USNRC and those from a latest model. To achieve this aim, radiation-induced cancer risks were projected based on the Japanese population statistics using the models developed by USNRC and the latest model, which was developed by U. S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA). As compared to the model of USEPA, the lifetime attributable risks of all cancers projected by the model of USNRC were about 30% higher for male and about 35% lower for female in both morbidity and mortality. When the sex-averaged values were compared between them, the difference is within 10%.

Various radionuclides, including radioactive tellurium (Te), were released to the environment by the Fukushima nuclear power plant accident. The total amount of Te-127m released from the power plant was estimated to be 1.1 × 1015 Bq. The radioactive Te may have contributed to the internal radiation dose at the initial stage of the accident. However, data on the environmental behavior of radioactive Te are limited. In this study, therefore, the uptake of Te in plants was investigated. Radishes (Raphanus sativus var. sativus) were cultivated into a nutrient solution, grown for 20-30 days, and then their fine roots (taproots in the plant anatomy) and a part of fleshy roots (hypocotyls in the plant anatomy) were immersed for two hours into nutrient solutions with different Te and Cs concentrations. After soaking, plants were returned to the initial Te- and Cs-free nutrient solution for further maturation. ICP-MS measurements were made to assess concentrations of Te and Cs in the plants' leaves and fleshy roots (the fine roots were removed). Resulting differences among the individual plants were large. The leaf/fleshy root ratios of the concentration of Te and Cs were 0.09-1.14 and 1.59-5.00 on a fresh-matter basis, respectively. Both Te and Cs were absorbed by the radishes through the fine roots. There was a general tendency for Te to be retained in the fleshy roots, whereas Cs was mainly absorbed by the fine roots and then transferred to the leaves.

Three different types of soil were collected at each of three locations: a persimmon orchard, an ume (Prunus mume, so to speak, ‘a Japanese apricot’) orchard, and a paddy field located 50-55 km northwest from Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant. The goal was to investigate the involvement of microbes inhabiting these soils on the behavior of 137Cs. The soils were sterilized with gamma ray irradiation for 30 hours (absorbed dose of 60 kGy) or with high-pressure steam (autoclave sterilization) at 121°C for 20 minutes. A radish cultivar (Raphanus sativus var. sativus) was then cultivated in those soils for 45 days, and the harvested taproots and leaves were testing using a Ge semiconductor detector for concentration of 137Cs. The result showed that the concentration of 137Cs in radishes cultivated in the sterilized soils with autoclave sterilization or gamma ray irradiation were significantly higher than in those cultivated in the unsterilized soils. An increase in the plant available 137Cs could be caused by NH4+ arisen from the multiple effects of the structural change of the soil, decomposition of organic matter, and/or extinction of the microbes by sterilization.

我々は,Strutsを利用して構築されるWebアプリケーションに対するコーディングチェッカとして,StrutsLintを開発した.StrutsLintは,Strutsの設定ファイルおよびJSP,Javaのソースコードを解析し,言語を跨いだ制御依存グラフ,データ依存グラフを生成する.これらのグラフを基に,制約の一貫性などを検査することで対象アプリケーションの整合性検査を行う.本稿では,StrutsLintで実現した機能を基にStrutsアプリケーションに対するコンポーネントウェアとしての整合性検査について述べる.

現在,東京都三鷹市にある国立天文台の敷地内に,長ざが300mのレーザー干渉計型重力波検出器が建設されている.この計画はTAMA(多摩)という名前で呼ばれており,平成7年度から5年間で干渉計の建設を行い,重力波検出のための技術的な開発と観測に必要な体制作りを目的としている.本稿では,世界の動向をふまえながら,この干渉計(TAMA300)を作り上げるための光技術を中心に解説をする.

創薬早期における臨床開発候補化合物選択時に, 動物実験データからその結果のヒトへの外挿性について薬効と安全性を検索することは重要である. 一般的に, ヒト組織を利用した医薬品探索・開発研究には, 開発候補化合物のスクリーニングを目的として生体外モデル系の開発, 医薬としての標的の特定, 有効性・安全性に関わる標的の分布とその機能の検討などがなされている. 近年, この10年の医薬品治療において, 治療・改善がほぼ十分に見込まれる疾病に対して, いまだ不十分な疾病領域 (癌, 中枢神経系疾患など) があることが提示されてきている. 創薬におけるこれからの挑戦は, いまだ充足されていない疾病領域への対応であることが明白になってきた. 分子生物学の新しい進展に伴い, 遺伝子解析に関わる科学的・技術的向上がみられ, 病気・病因の理解度が高まってきた. その一環として, 以下に示すような事項の検索に基づく個別化医療への道が開かれ, 診断に基づく適確医療の方向へと進みつつある. ①病態の理解と医薬としての展開の可能性の検討. ②探索研究とその臨床応用時の両方に関わるバイオマーカーの探索・設定, 測定系開発およびそのバリデーション. ③臨床応用時の患者の層別化あるいは選択のための診断方法の開発とそのバリデーション. 最近の新薬創生の場では, その創薬戦略における新薬に対して「病気・病因に対する正しい標的か?, それに対応する正しい化合物が選択されているか?, 対応する正しい患者が選択されているか?」という疑問が投げかけられている. 医療の場でのこのような思索が, 従来型医療 (one-size-fits-all) から個別化医療 (personalized medicine) ・適確医療 (precision medicine) へと道を開けつつある.

Antioxidative activity of aromatic amino acids and indole compounds for the autoxidation of linoleic acid was found to correlate in some extent with the highest occupied molecular orbital energy which represents the electron donor property of respective molecule. 5-Hydroxytryptophan, one of the best electron donor among the compounds tested, was the most effective antioxidant. However, antioxidative activity of some indole compounds could not be interpreted simply by their highest molecular orbital energies.Neither the chelating action for the possible metal traces nor the accelerated decomposition of hydroperoxide produced during the course of the reaction explained these actions of indoles. Tryptophan, while preventing the autoxidation of linoleic acid, underwent the ring cleavage at the position of between C2 and C3 or hydroxylation at C5 to yield formylkynurenine, kynurenine, 3-hydroxykynurenine, 5-hydroxytryptophan, 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid, etc. Following mechanisms which were compatible with the experimental results were proposed for the antioxidative action of indoles; indole donates an electron from its π-pool to linoleic acid radical or peroxy radical produced during the autoxidation of linoleic acid to form a loose charge transfer complex through a “local” interaction; an electron transfer occurs within the complex, which brings cleavage of indole rings and an inhibition of autoxidation.
