ビックデータやAIで活用されるデータがファクトデータを中心とされているのに対し、デジタルアーカイブで収集されるデータは、ファクトデータとそれに付随するメタデータを一対の記録としてとらえられている。デジタルアーカイブの記録では、メインのデータとなるマルチメディアファイルとそれを説明する文字情報を一対として記録・管理する事が重要な要素となると考える。そこで、本研究では、岐阜県美濃市で開催される美濃祭りの花みこしの祭りと準備の記録をとりあげ、デジタルアーカイブとしてどのようなデータが収集できるかを実践し、その情報の構成について検討したので報告する。

テキスト処理において文字集合間の変換は,さまざまな問題を引き起こす可能性がある.そのような問題を回避するため,スクリプト言語Rubyに対して,複数の文字集合とそのエンコーディングを変換を行うことなく直接扱うことができる多言語テキスト処理の枠組みを実装した.この多言語テキスト処理の枠組みを利用することでEBCDIC,UTF-16,UTF-32,GB18030をはじめとする各種CESに比較的容易に対応できる.この多言語化により,Rubyを用いたテキスト処理の可能性が大きく広がる.また,この多言語テキスト処理のための枠組みはRubyに依存しないため,ライブラリとして他のプログラムにも応用できる.The character conversion between character code sets can cause various problems. To avoid these problems, we developed a multilingual text manipulation framework for the Ruby language, which the author designed. Users can easily add support for the new character encoding scheme (CES), such as EBCDIC, UTF-16, UTF-32, and GB18030. The multilingual text manipulation will broaden the application domain of the Ruby language. In addition, the framework for the multilingual text manipulation can be used for other programs, since they are idependent from the Ruby interpreter.

Background: Peripheral artery disease (PAD) is the most underdiagnosed, underestimated and undertreated of the atherosclerotic vascular diseases despite its poor prognosis. There may be racial or contextual differences in the Asia-Pacific region as to epidemiology, availability of diagnostic and therapeutic modalities, and even patient treatment response. The Asian Pacific Society of Atherosclerosis and Vascular Diseases (APSAVD) thus coordinated the development of an Asia-Pacific Consensus Statement (APCS) on the Management of PAD. Objectives: The APSAVD aimed to accomplish the following: 1) determine the applicability of the 2016 AHA/ACC guidelines on the Management of Patients with Lower Extremity Peripheral Artery Disease to the Asia-Pacific region; 2) review Asia-Pacific literature; and 3) increase the awareness of PAD. Methodology: A Steering Committee was organized to oversee development of the APCS, appoint a Technical Working Group (TWG) and Consensus Panel (CP). The TWG appraised the relevance of the 2016 AHA/ACC PAD Guideline and proposed recommendations which were reviewed by the CP using a modified Delphi technique. Results: A total of 91 recommendations were generated covering history and physical examination, diagnosis, and treatment of PAD—3 new recommendations, 31 adaptations and 57 adopted statements. This Asia-Pacific Consensus Statement on the Management of PAD constitutes the first for the Asia-Pacific Region. It is intended for use by health practitioners involved in preventing, diagnosing and treating patients with PAD and ultimately the patients and their families themselves.

Two products from the Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) Dual-frequency Precipitation Radar (DPR) algorithms, a flag of intense solid precipitation above the −10°C height (“flagHeavyIcePrecip”) and a classification of precipitation type (“typePrecip”) were validated by ground-based hydrometeor measurements and X-band multi-parameter (X-MP) radar observations of snow clouds on 4 February 2018. Contoured frequency by altitude diagrams of the X-MP radar reflectivity exhibited a significant difference between footprints flagged and unflagged by the “flagHeavyIcePrecip” algorithm, which indicated that the algorithm is reasonable. The hydrometeor classification (HC) by the X-MP radar, which was confirmed by microphysical evidence from ground-based hydrometeor measurements, suggested the existence of graupel in the footprints with “flagHeavyIcePrecip”. In addition, according to the information of the GPM DPR, the “flagHeavyIcePrecip” footprints were characterized by not only graupel but also large snowflakes. According to the information of X-MP radar HC, the “typePrecip” algorithm by the detection of “flagHeavyIcePrecip” was effective in classifying precipitation types of snow clouds, whereas it seems that there is room for improvement in the “typePrecip” algorithms based on the extended-DPRm-method and H-method.

植物は胚発生以降も葉の腋に新しい茎頂メリステム(腋生メリステム)をつくり,そこから分枝を増やすことにより生涯にわたり形態形成を続ける.イネ科植物の花序はいくつかの異なるタイプの分枝で構成されており,それぞれのタイプの分枝の組み合わせが種に固有の花序の形をつくる.したがって,腋生メリステムの形成,その分化運命の決定,分枝の成長パターンにより花序の基本構造が決定される.本稿ではイネやトウモロコシなどイネ科植物を中心に,分枝パターンの決定に関わる遺伝的制御に関する知見を紹介する.

近年,デジタルアーカイブの普及にともない,インターネットを介した歴史資料(以下,史料)へのアクセスが容易となっている.一方,研究者が研究対象とする史料のすべてがインターネット上で公開されているとは限らず,また実証的な歴史研究が現存するすべての関係史料を検討することを基本にするため,実際に文書館や図書館に赴き,史料の収集を行う例も多い.本研究では史料収集や整理に多大な労力を要する歴史研究の支援を目的とし,複数の研究者の共同作業による史料収集・整理プロセスの効率化,および異なる専門知識を有する研究者の協調的な史料分析を支援するシステムを開発する.また,外交文書の送付先の決定過程に関する歴史研究を行い,開発したシステムの有用性を評価する.

本論文では感性ルールベースを用いた日本語フォント自動作成システムを提案する.提案手法は様々なデザインのフォントを自動生成することを目的としている.フォントは,各文字の骨格情報に,太さなどのパラメータによる肉付けが行われることで生成される仕組みとなっている.また,ユーザの入力には感性語を用いる.感性語とフォントデザインの対応は,各フォントに対する印象がファジィルールとして保存されている.これらはアンケートによって得られた感性情報を解析することで構築される.感性の反映には,遺伝的アルゴリズムを用いている.これにより,フォントは世代が進むにつれてユーザの入力した感性語に合った形状となり,ユーザは要求したイメージに近いフォントを手軽に作成することが可能となっている.本システムは従来のシステムを大幅に改良したものである.まず使用可能な漢字の文字数が72 文字から6 355 文字へ拡張されている.また感性の反映に感性ルールベースが適用され,ユーザの入力に対してより適切なフォントが出力されるようになった.ユーザインタフェースは従来のようなスタンドアローンアプリケーションからWEB アプリケーションへと移行され,通常のブラウザから使用可能となっている.被験者による評価実験により,提案システムと従来システムとの,出力されたフォントに対する感性反映度および多様性の比較を行った.その結果,提案システムの有効性が確認されている.

国内のクラウドファンディングサイト・ユーザを対象に2018年5月に実施したオンライン調査のデータをもとにユーザ行動を分析・類型化した。①複数サイトにまたがる利用、②提案と支援の両方でのサイト利用、③利用サイトや、提案・支援テーマ等による提案の成功率の違い、④支援者層(友人・知人、活動中に知り合った人、未知の人)の比率、⑤ユーザのクラウドファンディングに対する態度・判断基準 など、特定サイトでの調査データやログでは把握できないユーザ側からみた多面的な行動を明らかにした。
