関東山地において,ひすい輝石+石英組合せを持つ岩石を新たに発見した。この岩石は第三紀の栃谷層と断層関係にある超塩基性岩とともに露出している。この岩石は,ひすい輝石+石英組合せが安定な変成作用(高圧条件)と,アルバイト+エジル輝石が安定な変成作用(中圧条件)の2回の温度圧力条件を記録している。

We studied 388 cases who have consulted by telephone twice or more, and were selected from records kept at the Gunma Prefectural Mental Health Center since its opening (1986) until March 1993. For many cases, such series of consultations ended after no more than four calls, but 19 cases have lasted over several years or over a hundred calls. The most frequent type was related to mental illness of various sourts; the second most frequent concerned problems of children. Among the first type, many cases had visited psychiatric hospitals or clinics, increasing percentage wise as they passed the stages of their condition; first, anxiety overhaving fallen mentally ill; second, dissatisfaction or doubt about psychiatric treatment; third, anxiety over rehabilitation. Many cases felt completely at a loss over difficulties in finding solutions to their problems even after consulting with mental hospitals, clinics, or other counseling facilities. Cases continually used telephone for a sense of ease and/or familiarity with counselors of the Center. It was suggested that these continuing telephone consultations followed public relations that the Center's services were available without charge, and especially that they were so easily accessible by telephone.

To collect rat mutations and increase the value of the rat model system, we introduced fancy-derived mutations to the laboratory and carried out genetic analyses. Six fancy rats were shipped from a fancy rat colony in the USA and used as founders. After initial crosses with a laboratory strain, TM/Kyo or PVG/Seac, inbreeding started and 6 partially inbred lines, including 2 sublines, were produced as Kyoto Fancy Rat Stock (KFRS) strains. During inbreeding, we isolated 9 mutations: 5 coat colors, American mink (am), Black eye (Be), grey (g), Pearl (Pel), siamese (sia); 1 coat pattern, head spot (hs); 2 coat textures, Rex (Re), satin (sat); and an ear pinnae malformation, dumbo (dmbo). Genetic analyses mapped 7 mutations to particular regions of the rat chromosomes (Chr): am to Chr 1, sia to Chr 1, sat to Chr 3, Re to Chr 7, g to Chr 8, dmbo to Chr 14, and hs to Chr 15. Candidate gene analysis revealed that a missense mutation in the tyrosinase gene, Ser79Pro, was responsible for sia. From mutant phenotypes and mapping positions, it is likely that all mutations isolated in this study were unique to the fancy rat. These findings suggest that fancy rat colonies are a good source for collecting rat mutations. The fancy-derived mutations, made available to biomedical research in the current study, will increase the scientific value of laboratory rats.

本稿は,風俗業界で働く若年女性たちの生活・仕事の中で直面する種々のリスクへの対処の仕方,その対処において果たす彼女たちの人間関係ネットワークの機能,そのネットワークの形成の背景,特にネットワーク形成において学校体験のもつ意味を捉えることを課題とした。<BR> 本稿は,筆者らが取り組んでいる,沖縄の風俗業界とその界隈で働く若者への調査の対象者の中から特に2人の女性(真奈さん・京香さん)を取り上げ,それらの比較対照を通じて上記の課題を追究した。2人は,中学校卒業時点で学校社会のメインストリームから外れ,地元地域からも排除されていた点で共通する。だが,真奈さんは中学校時代不登校であり,同世代・同性集団に所属した経験をもたず,多少とも継続的な人間関係は恋人とのそれに限られていたのに対して,京香さんは中学時代地元で有名なヤンキー女子グループに属し,その関係は卒業後も続き,困難を乗り切り情緒的安定を維持する上での支えとなってきた。そして京香さんが仕事場面でのリスクに対処する戦術も,そのグループに所属する中で身につけた非行女子文化の行動スタイルを流用するものだった。<BR> 2人のケースの比較検討から浮かび上がってきたのは,学校時代に保護された環境の下で人間関係を取り結ぶ機会としてその場を経験できることは,移行期に多くのリスクに直面せざるを得ない層の若者にとって,相対的な安全を確保する上で不可欠なネットワークを形成する基盤となりうるものであり,その意味は決して小さくないという点であった。

小児期にビタミンDが不足すると、乳児けいれん、O脚、低身長、運動発達障害などを呈するビタミンD欠乏症を発症する。環境因子の変化により近年患者数が増加しているが、環境因子だけで説明できない例も多く、遺伝性素因の検討を行った。その結果、ビタミンD受容体、ビタミンD結合蛋白、NAD合成酵素の多型に対照群と有意差がみられた。さらに特定のハプロタイプの関与が強く認められた。さらに、臨床的にビタミンD欠乏症の経過を呈する症例に遺伝性くる病が明らかとなり、遺伝子解析の有用性が明らかとなった。

We implement and perform large-scale LES analysis for running groups of cyclists. The mesh-refined lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) and coherent-structure Smagorinsky model (CSM) are adopted for the simulations to achieve a high performance computing on the recent GPU supercomputer. In the simulation with 16 cyclists, the mesh spacing around cyclists is 4 mm, and the total number of the mesh is up to 8.1×108 and the number of GPUs utilized is up to 64. Each calculation took 4 or 5 days for the 8~11 seconds of physical duration. The flow around 16 cyclists in various arrangement is calculated, and the results show that the in-line arrangement is more effective than the rhomboid arrangement in the viewpoint of the total aerodynamic drag of the group; however, a specific person in rhomboid arrangement can obtain larger drag reduction and save the endurance. Results on two groups also suggest that the frontal group in rhomboid arrangement will be exploited as the wind protection of the backward groups.

We investigated the effect of treatment with hot water extracts from the spent mushroom substrates (SMSs) of Lentinula edodes and Hypsizygus marmoreus on the resistance of rice leaves to Pyricularia oryzae infection. The spraying of the SMS extracts clearly suppressed the development of lesions caused by Py. oryzae infection. The accumulation of phytoalexins momilactones A and B, oryzalexin A, and sakuranetin was markedly induced by the spraying of extracts. The enhanced expression of defense related genes PR1b and PBZ was also found in leaves sprayed with the extracts. Treatments with the extracts also affected phytohormone levels. The levels of N6-(Δ2-isopentenyl)adenine and trans-zeatin markedly increased in response to treatment, whereas the levels of salicylic and jasmonic acids were largely unchanged.

This paper presents a new wheel mechanism for the active-caster drive system. The active-caster provides omnidirectional mobility with no using free rolling mechanism. The original active-caster equips with an absolute encoder to detect a wheel orientation and two motors for driving wheel and steering axis independently. A computer system needs to detect an absolute wheel orientation and coordinate velocity components for wheel and steering drive to provide wheel motion in an arbitrary direction. To simplify the wheel control system, a new active-caster mechanism is proposed. A proposed active-caster system includes a ball transmission to distribute a traction velocity to wheel and steering axis mechanically without using an angle sensor or coordinated motor control. In this paper, kinematics of the proposed wheel mechanism is analyzed and mechanical condition for realizing the caster motion is derived. A kinematic model of the proposed active-caster mechanism with a ball transmission is analyzed and a mechanical condition for realizing caster motion is derived. Based on the kinematic model and the mechanical condition, computer simulations of the mechanism are performed. In the simulations, the active-caster shows successful caster motions with no sensor or computer system.

本稿では、類義表現の「~てならない」「~てたまらない」「~てしかたない」「~てしようがない」に関して、前接語彙とジャンルという2つの観点からその使い分けを分析した。本稿で使用した『現代日本語書き言葉均衡コーパス』は、大規模かつ複合性を持つ多ジャンルコーパスであるため、近似的ではあるが現実の日本語使用を多く反映している。よって、つぎに示す本稿での分析結果は、実際の使用場面に直結する有益な情報として、日本語学習者に提供できるものと考える。1)「ならない」は動詞、中でも自発、心状を表す動詞との共起関係が強く、「たまらない」はイ形容詞、中でも希望、感情を表すイ形容詞との共起関係が強い。2)「気がしてならない」「~たくてたまらない」「気になってしかたない」など、いくつかの定型的な共起パターンが存在する。3)文字言語的要素の強いジャンルでは「しかたない」、音声言語的要素の強いジャンルでは「しようがない」の使用が目立つ。4)国会議事録のような、フォーマルさを持ち、客観性が求められる話題の場では、「ならない」の多用、「たまらない」の非用という特徴的な傾向が見られる。

EPS (Earth, Planets and Space) is a peer-reviewed open access journal published on behalf of the following five societies; The Society of Geomagnetism and Earth, Planetary and Space Sciences, The Seismological Society of Japan, The Volcanological Society of Japan, The Geodetic Society of Japan, The Japanese Society for Planetary Sciences. These five societies are all society members of the Japan Geoscience Union.EPS was established in 1998 as a continuation of the two journals, the Journal of Geomagnetism and Geoelectricity (1949 to 1997) and the Journal of Physics of the Earth (1952 to 1997). In 2014 we started open access publication under the SpringerOpen platform. Open Access publication successfully shortened the publication time, increased visibility of the journal and widened its international readership. We publish average of 190 papers per year and half of the authors are from overseas. One of the qualification indices of the journal, impact factor (IF), is continuously increasing from 1.328 (2014) to 2.773 (2017) and it will also go over 2.6 in 2018. The increasing IF is supported both by increase of highly cited papers and by decrease of uncited papers, suggesting the success of quality control by the editorial board and possibly increasing of the visibility via open access.The scope of EPS covers Earth and Planetary Sciences, particularly geomagnetism, aeronomy, space science, seismology, volcanology, geodesy, and planetary science. The EPS share common scopes as well as a common journal platform with PEPS (Progress in Earth and Planetary Science). In contrast to PEPS, which emphasizes review papers, EPS is characterized by the following article types: (1) “Express Letter” which aims at fast publications, (2) “Technical reports“, which describe technical developments for scientific researches and (3) “Frontier Letters” for leading edge researches only with the invitation from the editor in chief. EPS promotes topical article collections (what we call special issues) on the first results of geoscientific events (earthquakes and volcanic eruptions) and scientific missions (satellite missions). EPS has been recently successful in attractive special issues. Aiming at fast and qualified review system, we have expanded editorial board members internationally since 2017. Now we have currently 50 regular editors (including 22 oversea editors). The oversea editors are 10 from Europe, 3 from North America, 5 from Asia, and 3 from Oceania.As part of the promotion of the journal we have four annual awards to recognize authors and reviewers: (1) EPS Excellent paper awards, (2) EPS Young researcher award, (3) Highlighted Paper Awards and (4) Excellent Paper Awards. From 2018, EPS has strengthened ties with JpGU. EPS has started collaborative advertisement activities at major domestic and international academic meetings, like JpGU, AGU, EGU and AOGS. EPS has updated the APC (Article Processing Charge) in September 2018 for sustainable operations of the journal.
