【要旨】我々は、絵画を見るときに様々な印象評価を行う。特に、芸術における美しさの問題は、哲学史上、重要な問題であり、その脳メカニズムが明らかになることは哲学や美学と脳科学とをつなげる知見となる。本論文では、筆者らの研究において、美しさの脳内基盤として眼窩前頭葉の活動を見出し、また美しさの対極にある醜さが左感覚運動野の活動を引き起こすことを示した研究を紹介するとともに、絵画を含めた画像認知における印象評価研究について紹介する。特に美的判断は、顔に魅力を感じることとの一貫性のみならず経済的判断などの脳メカニズムとも重なり合い、その報酬系と呼ばれる神経システムに位置づけられることが明らかになっている。同時に、違和感という絵画認知における印象評価に関する脳内基盤についても紹介する。

During the hottest and most humid periods of the year, nineteenth- and twentiethcentury Protestant missionaries stationed in Asia often took refuge in cooler spots in highland regions. This article first traces the origins of Karuizawa, which was one of these missionary resorts in Asia and is a major summer resort in Japan. Then it illustrates the character of Karuizawa as a North American missionary and Christian space. It explains how and why Protestant missionaries began to visit Karuizawa and build summerhouses there, how they tried to create a community based on openness, equality and autonomy, and how they introduced "innocent" entertainment and leisure practices such as tennis, music concerts, and visiting each others' homes to take the place of traditional Japanese equivalents such as bathing in hot springs, drinking parties, and consorting with geisha. The article also observes that women were in the majority and that the general atmosphere encouraged American-style courtship practices among young single residents.The article then explores how wealthy Japanese began to build summerhouses for themselves in the area around the missionary community. It argues that missionary practices influenced the Japanese. North American customs of courtship and marriage had a particularly significant impact. Japanese literary works portray Karuizawa as as pace for "romantic love," and it was on a Karuizawa tennis court that the then-Crown Prince Akihito first met the then-Ms. Michiko Shoda, his future bride, in 1957. More recently, Karuizawa has become the site of commercial wedding chapels run by business entities such as Hoshino Resorts, Inc.

The masonry arch is one of the oldest structural designs used to span openings of considerable length. Although a variety of forms of brick masonry arches have been used for aesthetic reasons throughout the history of architecture, the unique employment of simple geometric forms is conspicuous in Louis Kahn′s buildings. In particular, Kahn has distinctively used overlaid circles cut into the building façade for window openings. The research elaborates on how Kahn juxtaposed circular shapes for the design of window openings in his buildings, particularly in the Indian Institute of Management (1962-74) and National Capital Complex in Bangladesh (1962-83).

本稿では、元禄7年(1696)に、綱吉政権が発令した法令(以下元禄7年令)に注目・検討し、領知宛行制史に定置することを目的とするものである。元禄7年令とは、「判物之格」であっても、代替り朱印改以外で発給する宛行状は全て朱印状で発給すると規定したものである。では、なぜ、朱印状で発給するのかという本質的な理由や発令の歴史的背景、さらには大名家への影響については、現在の研究段階では明らかとなってはいない。この問題の検討は、領知宛行制の研究には不可欠であろう。徳川将軍権威の追究にも繋がると考えられる。本稿の検討の結果、元禄7年令の含意とは、幕府は領知判物を代替り朱印改めの時に限定発給するとしたこと、元禄7年令発令の背景には、領知宛行状の大量発給が予想される中で、領知判物の権威を維持するためのものであったこと、従来、判物と考えられてきた、宝永6年8月5日付の間部詮房宛領知宛行状の本来は朱印状であったことから見ても、元禄7年令の主旨は徳川政権下において一貫したものであったこと。さらに、元禄7年令は、例えば大名家の文書管理などを規定し続けていたことから明らかなように、後年に至っても、大名家に影響を及ぼしたこと。以上を明らかにした。On this report, I pay attention to and examine the law sand ordinances which Tsunayoshi Administration announced in 7th year of Genroku era, and I’ll put it in territory allotment system.The ordinance in 7th year of Genroku era was the one which prescribed that all the form of allotments, including "Paraph Status", but except the ones issued in succession, should be issued in the form of "Syuinjou", a red-seal letter. But the current studies don't clarify the essential reason and the historical background of issuing in red-seal letter and more the influence on Daimyos, feudal lords. The examination of this problem is in dispensable for a study of the territory allotment system, and it can be thought that it leads to investigation of the General Tokugawa authority at the same time.As a result of examination of this report, I clarified the following; that the connotation of the ordinance in 7th year of Genroku era was that the Shogunate administration decided to issue time-limited territory sealed document in checking such session. That there was an intention in announcement of this ordinance, to maintain the authority of territory sealed document against the expectation that many forms or allotments would be issued. That the gist of this ordinance was consistent nature through the Tokugawa administration, thinking the fact that the form of territory allotment to Manabe Akihusa dated August 5th, 6th year of Houei era, which had been regarded as a sealed document, was in nature a red seal letter. And more than this ordinance had been influenced on feudal lords also in later years, because, for example, this ordinance had continued to regulate the document management of feudal lords.

はじめに:本研究の目的は,腰椎椎間板ヘルニア(LDH)術後超早期の腰椎伸展運動の即時効果を調査することである.対象と方法:対象は,LDH摘出術を実施した32例とした.術後2~3日目に10分間の腰椎伸展運動(腹臥位での腰椎持続伸展保持)を実施した.結果:手術によりいずれの症例も症状は改善したが,更に10分間の腰椎伸展運動を行うことにより,腰痛・下肢痛・しびれのVAS(mm)は有意に改善した(腰痛27.7→17.8,下肢痛4.5→2.2,しびれ11.4→7.7,それぞれp<0.05).改善15例(46.9%),不変17例(53.1%)であり,悪化例は存在しなかった.10分間の腰椎伸展運動後,8例(25.0%)で腰痛が即時的に消失,3例(9.4%)で下肢痛・しびれが即時的に消失した.また,1例は下肢症状の範囲が即時的に縮小し,下腿後面と足部の痛みが足部の痛みのみとなった.患者満足度(VAS)は81 mmと良好であった.結語:術後超早期の腰椎伸展運動は,悪化例は存在せず,即時的な腰痛の軽減が得られ,安全かつ有効な理学療法であることを示唆した.

第九代平戸藩主松浦静山の随筆「甲子夜話」(全278巻)について、東洋文庫本『甲子夜話』(全20冊)を底本とした全文のテキスト入力データをもとに、ネットワークサーバ上に全文検索システムを構築し公開した(http://yosi-iwa.sakura.ne.jp/programs/essay/contents)。あわせて、『甲子夜話』執筆にあたり、重要な情報源となった平戸藩楽歳堂文庫とその蔵書目録について調査研究を行い、蔵書目録の作成・伝来過程を明らかにした。

日本への家畜ブタ導入を判定する基礎資料として、現生および遺跡出土のイノシシ属の計測データを蓄積し、日本列島の南北におけるイノシシのサイズ変異の程度を明らかにした。また、東南アジア、琉球列島産の在来種ブタとイノシシおよび遺跡出土のイノシシ属のmtDNA分析を行った。日本在来馬の体格の変遷を探り、大陸のウマと比較するため、現生および中部~東北地方の古代、中世および近世の遺跡から出土したウマ骨格の計測データを収集した。

The ideal treatment for intracranial histiocytic sarcoma (HS) remains unclear. Herein, we report a case of intracranial HS that was successfully treated using prednisolone and radiation therapy. The patient was a 9-year-old spayed female Pembroke Welsh Corgi that presented with epileptic seizures. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed a contrast-enhancing mass adjacent to the right piriform lobe. Prednisolone administration (1 mg/kg/day) decreased the lesion size. Additional palliative radiation therapy (total dose, 37 Gy) resulted in complete disappearance of the lesion. However, on day 164, the dog’s neurological signs deteriorated, and she was euthanized. Necropsy revealed an intracranial metastasis of HS via the cerebrospinal fluid without any extracranial metastasis. Nonetheless, combined prednisolone and radiation therapy might be effective in treating intracranial HS.
