Since 1992, the authors have been comprehensively researching the life of local people in an unelectrified village of northern Thailand. A research on structure and function of the family was conducted by a questionnaire survey in August 2002 with a hearing survey that followed up one year later in August 2003 as well as the demographic surveys conducted in January 1993 and June 2002. The data were mainly analyzed by cross analysis method using SPSS software. With the electrification of the village at the end of 1996, the villagers exposed to a large quantities of external information through TV have been trying to increase their earnings in various ways on the basis of the information obtained. Consequently, those who work or study away from homes are increasing. Although the family structure has not remarkably been changing, the outsourcing of the family function has been recognized. Furthermore, internationalization has been slowly progressing there. Such being the case, the structure and function of the family of this village are expected to change at an accelerated rate.

The present study was designed to investigate the question whether or not unilateral lesion to the amygdala and its adjacent structures in cats produces significant change in sexual and fire-avoidance behavior. After the unilateral amygdalectomy, both male and female cats showed hyperactivity of sexual behavior, indicating successive estrus which was unobserved in normal cats during the regular mating seasons. Moreover, the anuygda-lectomized subjects did not show the fire-avoidance behavior. This disappearance of fire-avoidance behavior lasted over five weeks. It is considered that this result was due to psychic blindness, or visual agnosia, which Kluver and Bucy mentioned in monkeys after bilateral resection of the temporal lobes. The present finding implies that individual differences in sexual behavior appear to depend on the neural basis of the amygdala in adult cats, supporting an assumption that the amygdala is a controlling center of sexual and emotional behavior which is one of the principal role of the limbic system.

The objective of this preliminary study is to identify what kind of impact gender diversity has on stock performance. In order to examine the impact, portfolio that consists of companies with gender diversity in manager's level and portfolio that consists of companies with little gender diversity were made from the components of the MSCI Japan Index. And then, the rate of return and Sharpe ratio for the past 10 years were compared. As a result, those of gender diversity portfolio are higher than those of non-gender diversity portfolio as well as those of MSCI Japan. In addition, the result of a multiple regression analysis with the use of the Fama-French factor model suggests that there is little risk specific to gender diversity.

"プロパー"と言えば, 薬の売り込み要員としての印象が強かった.開業医さんのもろもろの御用聞きやゴルフのお相手なども仕事の大事な部分であった.今や, 医薬品の有効性・安全性の確保の第一線におけるにない手として, "医薬情報担当者"という名に変った.西ドイツにおいてはその資格化が行われた.現在わが国では, このような業務にたずさわる薬学出身者は全体の25%を占めるにすぎない.本来このような仕事は, 薬学領域の中で極めて重要な位置にあること, それにふさわしい人材を養成することは薬学の使命であることなどをよく考えてみたい.
