Social media, such as Twitter and Instagram, are an increasingly common part of modern life. Especially, Instagram is getting more and more popular as a fashion medium and a fashion learning platform because of its picture processing and sharing functions. This article discusses both the inner and outer effects of social media on the process of learning fashion and on information distribution. The author also conducted an internet survey and analyzes 455 responses. The analysis revealed that 1)Twitter and Instagram are extensions of existing network media such as weblogs, and 2)they possess great potentials in distributing pop culture independent from mass media and high culture.

The gasification studies on the selected cellulosic wastes (Saw dust, Coir dust, Copra meal and Cassava bagasse) by fluidized bed method were investigated to determine the ideal conditions and variables suitable for generating power.<BR>Experimental runs on the steam and air gasification were carried out using bench scale gasification apparatus.<BR>The results on the steam gasification showed that at varying bed temperature ranging from 750 to 900°C, gas product with high H2 and CO content (more than 70%) having high heating value (2, 500-3, 700 kcal) were obtained.<BR>The ranges of heating values of the produced gas obtained from air gasification at appropriate operating condition were 1, 000-1, 350 kcal for saw dust, 1, 170-1, 300Kcal for coir dust, 1, 200-1, 700Kcal for cassava bagasse, and 1, 350-4, 800 kcal for copra meal.<BR>Preliminary test run of the gas engine was done by charging LPG mixed with air to determine the minimum practical heating value for smooth operation. Results of the test run showed that 1, 200 kcal was minimum heating value with gas pressure of about 1, 200 mmH2O to maintain the smooth operation.<BR>Based on the data from the preliminary test, the gas fuel products generated from saw dust were tested on the gas engine.<BR>Results showed that low calorie gas products with heating value as low as 1, 300 kcal can be utilized to run a gas engine for generation of electric power.

病院の外来患者待ち時間を短縮するために,本研究では,待ち行列理論を用いたイベント駆動型ネットワークの方法を利用する.そのため,まずは対象になる病院の診療科の待ち行列全体をイベント駆動型ネットワークモデルで構築し,病院の総合受付の到着分布とサービス分布のモデルはM/G/sとする.次に,患者歩行速度を所与とし,診療科間の距離に比例して診療科間の患者の移動時間を決めた上で,患者の期待滞留時間と期待サービス時間に基づく割振りディスパッチングルールを提案する.その後,患者が次に受診しうる診療科の窓口が複数ある場合とない場合,さらに複数のとき,それらの診療科の窓口が空いている場合と空いていない場合に対して,提案ディスパッチングルールによって患者をスケジューリングする.最後に数値実験を通して,患者の総待ち時間への提案の効果を検証する.

鈍的外力による四肢主幹動脈の内膜損傷は,放置すると遅発性の血栓閉塞や仮性動脈瘤の形成などが危惧される。しかし内膜損傷の自然経過は十分に解明されていないため,非閉塞性動脈の内膜損傷に対する治療方針には議論の余地がある。今回,鈍的外傷による下肢動脈の非閉塞性内膜損傷2例に対し保存療法を行い,良好な経過を示したので報告する。症例1:21歳の男性。injury severity score 29,墜落外傷例であった。近医で出血性ショックに対する集中治療を受けた際,偶然に左総大腿動脈内膜損傷を発見され,動脈再建目的で転送された。搬入時の末梢循環は問題なく,造影CTではintimal flapを伴った広範囲の壁不整像を認めたが開存していた。ショック離脱直後の状態であり緊急性もないことから保存療法を行った。受傷後5.3年,造影CTでは動脈は狭窄なく開存しているが,壁不整像が僅かに残存している。症例2:41歳の男性。喧嘩の仲裁に入った際,右膝を過伸展し受傷した。近医へ搬送され阻血徴候を認め,造影CTでは膝窩動脈の造影効果の欠如を認めたため血行再建目的で転送された。しかし搬入時には末梢循環は保たれ,再検査では内膜損傷を認めたが開存しており保存療法を行った。受傷後2.2年,造影CTでは動脈は開存しているが,僅かな壁不整像を残している。自験例2例は,下肢主幹動脈の阻血症状を呈さない非閉塞性内膜損傷であり,遅発性血栓閉塞に備え血行再建を即座に行える体制下で保存療法を行った。最終観察時に僅かな動脈壁不整像を残し,今後も経過観察を要するが,臨床的には良好な経過と考えられる。近年,画像機器が発達し四肢主幹動脈損傷の診断が簡便かつ詳細に行えるようになったが,これに伴い非閉塞性内膜損傷に遭遇する機会も増えると推察される。今後は,詳細な画像分析と長期成績に基づいた非閉塞性内膜損傷に対する治療指針の確立が望まれる。

市販ベビーフード中のダイオキシンレベルを評価するために,2001~2002年に入手した102品目(102試料) のベビーフード中のダイオキシン類〔ポリ塩化ジベンゾパラジオキシン(PCDDs),ポリ塩化ジベンゾフラン(PCDFs)およびコプラナーポリ塩化ビフェニル(Co-PCBs)〕の分析を行った.その結果,各試料の毒性等量(TEQ)は湿重量当たり<0.001~0.135 pg-TEQ/gで,102試料中,26試料が0.010 pg-TEQ/g以上であった.最高濃度は,おかず類"いわし,野菜"(0.135 pg-TEQ/g),次いで"いわし,大根" (0.080 pg-TEQ/g)であった.傾向として,魚類や乳製品のような動物性食品を含むものにダイオキシン検出が認められたが,それらは低い汚染レベルであった.

Since the advent of functional magnetic resonance imaging cognitive science has experienced a turn towards neuroscience. Models of perceptual and cognitive functions can now be tested against patterns of human brain activity in anatomically well-defined regions of interest. Structural and functional connectivity analyses can inform us about how different brain regions are interconnected and interact in perceptual and cognitive tasks, as well as during resting states. In this study I review the results of a series of experiments that aimed to reveal the visual-vestibular sensory processing underlying self-motion perception. We (Frank, Baumann, Mattingley, & Greenlee, 2014; Frank, Wirth, & Greenlee, 2016) localized regions in the posterior insula using fMRI with visual and vestibular stimuli. The results suggest that two areas in this part of the brain are involved in self-motion perception: the parieto-insular vestibular cortex (PIVC) for the processing of vestibular information and posterior insular cortex (PIC) for the integration of visual and vestibular information. The results suggest that these two regions play different roles in the integration of visual and vestibular cues related to self-motion perception.

We developed a new cuff-less blood pressure measuring instrument using our phase shift technology. Using the new device we can continuously and noninvasively get information on the blood pressure per pulsation of the blood vessel. However the traditional medical device used in hospital or in our house is not able to measure continuously the blood pressure. Over the past many years, there have been numerous studies on cuff less blood pressure monitor, but a new medical device capable of detecting invasively blood pressure have not been developed. This study describes development of a new type of cuff-less blood pressure instrument which is designed to operate with an optical sensor.
