The consequences of nutrient loss (oligotrophication) and attendant low productivity on biodiversity and productivity in the ecosystem has recently invoked the interest of researchers, as result of loss of wild anadromous fish by acceleration of urbanization and deterioration of natural riparian ecosystem such as dam construction, habitat destruction, and artificial hatchery program. In Japan, chum salmon (Oncorhynchus keta) have been mass-produced by hatchery program, while numerous wild Pacific salmon have been almost extinguished by a combination of the urbanization and the deterioration of riparian ecosystem. This review focuses on effects of anadromous fish on biodiversity and productivity in the riparian ecosystem with relation to dynamics of nutrient, biofilm, aquatic insects, salmonids, terrestrial animals, and human activity, and isotopic evidence for enrichment of salmon-derived nutrients. Anadromous fish are key species for sustaining production and biodiversity in the riparian ecosystem. For sustainable conservation management of riparian ecosystem, the rehabilitations of wild salmon population, system of material cycle, and natural rivers are critical important issues in Japan.

近畿地方の市街地 164 箇所の人為的ハビタット(石垣,壁,建物間の隙間,路傍)におけるシダ類の種組成と気候条件との関係を,CCA (正準対応分析), TWINSPAN (二元指標種分析),指標種分析を用いて調査した。CCA の第1軸スコアは暖かさの指数や寒さの指数とよく対応し,気温変化の軸と考えられた。第2軸スコアは乾湿計数や冬季降水量とよく対応し,空中湿度などの乾湿に関する変化の軸と考えられた。TWINSPAN によってシダ類群集は4区分され,それぞれイヌワラビ型,イノモトソウ型,イヌケホシダ型,イシカグマ型と判断された。また,イヌワラビ型,イノモトソウ型,イヌケホシダ型,イシカグマ型の順に温かさの指数や平均気温は大きくなり,イシカグマ型,イヌワラビ型,イノモトソウ型,イヌケホシダ型の順に乾湿係数や降水量はより小さく,乾燥が厳しくなった。今後,このような群集タイプの変化に着目することで,気候変動の目安となる可能性があると考えられた。

Recently, end-to-end learning is frequently used to implement dialogue systems. However, existing systems still suffer from issues to handle complex dialogues. In this paper, we target on the conversation game “Mafia”, which requires players to make consistent and complex communications. We propose a middle language expression and a converter from natural language input. We implemented our dialogue system to play the Mafia game with humans and other automatic agents. Our evaluation on the play shows that our middle language increases conversion coverage.

目的 本研究は,都市部に居住する高齢者において,社会経済的地位と口腔健康との関連のメカニズムについて,心理および社会的要因の媒介効果に着目して検証し,口腔健康の階層間格差への対応に資する知見を得ることを目的とした。方法 東京都に位置する自治体で住民の社会経済階層が高い区と低い区を選択し,それぞれの自治体に居住する65歳以上の住民1,000人ずつの計2,000人を住民基本台帳から二段無作為抽出し,訪問面接調査を実施した。分析対象は,回答が得られた739人とした。分析項目は,口腔健康に主観的口腔健康感,残存歯数,咀嚼能力の3項目の合計点数を用いた。社会経済的地位は,教育年数と年収とした。媒介要因の候補は,社会生態学モデルを用いて,自尊感情,うつ症状,社会的支援とした。分析は多重媒介分析を行った。結果 心理社会的要因のうち,個別の要因については有意な媒介効果を確認できなかったものの,心理社会的要因全体では年収と口腔健康の媒介要因として有意な効果がみられた。心理社会的要因全体の媒介効果は,教育年数と口腔健康との間では有意ではなかった。結論 低所得者の口腔健康が悪い理由の一部に心理社会的要因が関与しており,ライフステージごとに実施される予防活動と心理社会的リスク要因全体を軽減する取り組みを組み合わせることで,社会経済的地位による口腔健康の格差を解消できる可能性が示唆された。

神経性食欲不振症や神経性過食症の経過中にてんかん様の痙攣発作が観察されているが, その発生機序は不明のままであった。今回, 過食嘔吐後にてんかん大発作を来した神経性過食症(DSM-III-R)の1女性例を呈示した。発作時の血糖値は46mg/dlであった。過食後のIRI値が血糖値に比し高く, 嘔吐後に反応性低血糖が起こり, カテコールアミンやグルカゴンなどのインスリン拮抗ホルモンの反応はみられないことが原因と考えられた。低血糖発作のあと翌朝まで続く遷延性の頭痛が観察された。本例は神経性過食症にみられる痙攣と過食嘔吐後の反応性低血糖との因果関係を示した最初の報告例である。

先天性表皮水疱症の3 歳児を5 年間にわたり口腔ケアを行った。初診時,プラークコントロールは不良で,多数歯に重症齲蝕を認めた。加えて歯科診療に対する不安が強く,診療は困難をきたした。治療方針を(1)歯科診療に対する協力性の向上(2)口腔衛生の改善(3)齲蝕の進行抑制とし,2 週間に1 回の間隔で来院させた。Tell Show Do 法(TSD)などで行動変容を行い,使用する歯ブラシを加工する等の工夫,診療室でのフッ化物塗布,家庭でのフッ化物洗口等を行った。その結果,プラークの付着が減少し,健全な永久歯が萌出中である。また,初診時には歯冠崩壊のため咀嚼が困難であったが,永久歯の萌出に伴う咬合部位の増加により,食事内容や量が増加し栄養状態もよくなった。患児と信頼関係を築き,両親の理解や協力を得る事で口腔ケアが容易となり,健全な永久歯の萌出を迎えることができた。

Short postharvest life of button mushroom (Agaricus bisporus L.) is a serious problem in the expansion of marketing and long-distance transportation of this product. Edible coating is an effective way to delay the browning process and mitigate the deterioration of button mushroom. In this study, the impact of Aloe vera gel alone and combined with basil oil as an edible coating on postharvest quality and browning of mushroom has been investigated. Surface morphology of the coated and uncoated mushrooms was studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results indicated that application of A. vera gel enriched with basil oil significantly alleviated weight loss, softening and respiration rate during the storage. In addition, coated samples delayed browning and color change compared to uncoated samples. Interestingly, total phenolic contents, antioxidant and phenylalanine ammonia lyase activity increased in samples coated by treatment of A. vera and basil oil. Relative electrolyte leakage, malondialdehyde content and polyphenol oxidase activity were also significantly lower in A. vera enriched with basil oil treated samples. These findings suggest that combination of A. vera with basil oil is a promising method to preserve the quality of the button mushrooms during cold storage.

Revertant mosaicism (RM) is a phenomenon in which inherited mutations are spontaneously corrected in somatic cells. RM occurs in some congenital skin diseases, but genetic validation of RM in clinically revertant skin has been challenging, especially when homologous recombination (HR) is responsible for RM. Here, we introduce nanopore Cas9-targeted sequencing (nCATS) for identifying HR in clinically revertant skin. We took advantage of compound heterozygous COL7A1 mutations in a patient with recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa who showed revertant skin spots. Cas9-mediated enrichment of genomic DNA (gDNA) covering the two mutation sites (>8 kb) in COL7A1 and subsequent MinION sequencing successfully detected intragenic crossover in the epidermis of the clinically revertant skin. This method enables the discernment of haplotypes of up to a few tens of kilobases of gDNA. Moreover, it is devoid of polymerase chain reaction amplification, which can technically induce recombination. We, therefore, propose that nCATS is a powerful tool for understanding complicated gene modifications, including RM.

トラキライト™ を用いての気管挿管は確実性, 迅速性, 安全性, 経済性, 簡便性のいずれにおいても, 従来の喉頭鏡を用いての喉頭展開手技と比較して色がなく, トレーニングの機会を得やすい. このライトガイドによる気管挿管手技は頸部の透過光を指標とするもので, 咽頭や喉頭に病変があるケースでは使えないが, 一方で咽頭に視野確保のためのスペースを必要とせず, 中間位で挿管可能であり, 解剖学的な影響を受けにくいという大きな利点がある. トラキライト™ の習熟には喉頭展開と同程度のトレーニングを必要とするが, ひとたび習熟すれば日常臨床できわめて有用な手技となり, 気道確保に新たなストラテジーの展開が期待できる.
