千葉県山武市の調査地においてラン科植物を食害するハエ類の調査を行った.まず,植物の種によって加害するハエの種が異なるかどうかを検証するため,6種のランより果実や花茎を採集し,内部に寄生するハエ類を比較した.次に,季節によってハエの種が異なる可能性を検証するため,ランの開花時期である春(5月)から夏(7月)にかけて採集されたハエ類の比較を行った.クマガイソウより得られた成虫標本は,ランミモグリバエと同定された.また,ミトコンドリアDNAのCOI遺伝子領域の配列を用いた分子同定の結果,様々なランより5~7月にかけて採集されたハモグリバエサンプルの配列は,ランミモグリバエの配列とほぼ一致した.このことから,本調査地ではランミモグリバエが様々なランを食害しており,季節によりハエの種に変化はないと考えられた.また,本研究では3種のランについて果実内に見られたハエの発育段階を約2週間おきに観察し,幼虫および囲蛹期間の推移状況を明らかにした.キンランとクマガイソウ果実の被害が大きく,個体群維持のため,ランミモグリバエの防除が必要であると考えられた.

TIMSSにおける理科の論述課題に対する我が国の中学生の正答率が相対的に低いことを説明する要因について,生徒の科学的論述力と教師の指導法との関連をTIMSSの参加国と比較することで明らかにしようとした。TIMSSの教師質問紙において科学的論述力に関連がある質問項目を分析した結果,我が国の教師の特徴として,「解答のための理由を述べること」を理科の重要な目標ととらえる教師が少ないこと,理科(科学)を実世界の「表現方法」であると認識している教師が少ないことが明らかとなった。

In this paper, the author discusses a theme of “Thetical and Antithetical Business Management.” The thetical business management signifies “a management style minimizes an objective function, which expresses consumers' expenditure of service goods, with holding a constraint condition, which expresses guaranteed level of expenditure.”While the antithetical business management is “a management style maximize an objective function, which expresses consumers' satisfaction concerning service goods, with holding a constraint condition, which expresses limits of their service goods expenditure.”In other words, the thetical business management can be formulated as a Primal Problem of Linear Programming, whereas the antithetical business management as its Dual Problem of Linear Programming.

コカゲロウ科の日本産7属について, 雄成虫と幼虫の属への図解表検索を作成した。対象とした属は, ミジカオフタバコカゲロウ属, シリナガコカゲロウ属, フタバコカゲロウ属, コカゲロウ属 (狭義), フトヒゲコカゲロウ属, トビイロコカゲロウ属, ヒゲトガリコカゲロウ属であった。各属の種組成, 各種の特徴, タイプ産地といった分類情報だけではなく, 種の分布域, ハビタットといった生態情報もまとめた。

In Internet surveys, the responses for rating scale questions can be influenced by appearance of the rating scale on a computer screen. To examine the effects of the way of displaying response items on a computer screen of the internet survey, the author has conducted an experiment using 16 kinds of questionnaires. Each of the questionnaires includes same questions but the choice items of 7-point rating scales were displayed in different manners: vertical or horizontal layout, ascending or descending order, numbered or worded labels, bipolar or unipolar scales. By using the result of the surveys, he mainly compares top-3 box ratings. In the comparisons, he finds some order effects and other effects: higher top-3 box ratings by displaying the rating scales in ascending order than that of descending order and higher top ratings by displaying numbered labels with bipolar scales than that of worded labels. However, he doesn't find any significant difference from whether to display the scales vertically or horizontally.

国産果物の高品質には定評があるにもかかわらず,国民の消費量については「毎日くだもの200グラム運動」で推奨されている量の1/2に留まる. 諸外国に比較しても著しく低レベルである. そこで、発表者らは4半世紀にわたって進めてきた「果物と健康」に関する研究の成果を活用し、果物の消費拡大をアピールしている. 更には任意団体を2つ立ち上げ,消費拡大活動に向け工夫を重ねている.今回、その成果と将来展望について報告する.

Various surgical treatments are available for occlusive subclavian and common carotid artery diseases. Nevertheless, to date, when cerebral endovascular treatment is utilized, revascularization via direct surgery may be required. This study reported five symptomatic cases of revascularization for CCA and SCA occlusive and stenotic lesions that were expected to be challenging to treat with endovascular treatment. We performed subclavian artery-common carotid artery or internal carotid artery bypass using artificial blood vessels or saphenous vein grafts in five patients with subclavian steal syndrome, symptomatic common carotid artery occlusion, and severe proximal common carotid artery stenosis. In this study, good bypass patency was achieved in all five cases. Although there were no intraoperative complications, one patient had a postoperative lymphatic leak. Moreover, there was no recurrence of stroke during postoperative follow-up for an average of 2 years. Conclusively, subclavian artery-common carotid artery bypass can be an effective surgical treatment for common carotid artery occlusion, proximal common carotid artery stenosis, and subclavian artery occlusion.
