There has been increasing reports concerning relationship between starch intake and bowel health. According to recent evidences, resistant starch(RS), a fraction of starch that survive digestion in the small intestine and reach large bowel, plays major roles in the health-promoting action of starch. In this review, we will describe some important physiological effects of RS including its historical background, formation and existence in food and functions in the large intestine. RS increased fecal mass, fecal water-holding capacity and cecal fermentation but decreased gastrointestinal transit time. Involvement of RS in lipid metabolism was also discussed. RS reduces glycemic index and improves glucose tolerance in rats. RS improves mineral availability through increased absorption in the large intestine. Some effects of RS on large intestinal defects were ascribed to fermentation products, short-chain fatty acids.

This is a study about the utilization actual condition and estimation of Shinsui Parks in the 23 wards of Tokyo, we want to know the influences that Shinsui Parks exercise around it. We examined about the present state of the Shinsui Parks in the 23 wards. In the parks, we chose five parks (KOMATSUGAWA-SAKAIGAWA,HURUKAWA,SHIN-AGASHIMAGAWA,YOKOJUKKENGAWA,OTONASHI). And we examined how many people used the parks in a day during in summar and how they used it. The findings are following: 1.Well used Shinsui Parks are those which provide their users the direct access to the water. 2.Shinsui Parks with water accsess are frequently used by families,but Shinsui Parks without water access are mostly used by passers. 3.Many people stay at home in ample spaces along Shinsui Parks. 4.Shinsui Parks with convenient transportation access have large utility areas.

We have experienced a series of big revolutions in medical education in Japan. In undergraduate courses, common guidelines had been established for medical education (the model core-curriculum of medical education). Then, from 2005, a standard achievement testing system [objective structured clinical examination (OSCE) and computer based testing (CBT)] was begun, and clinical clerkships were accordingly promoted. In post-graduate courses, a new clinical resident training system was initiated in 2004, and there are currently approximately 40000 clinical instructors nationwide. Accreditation of Japanese medical schools based on global standards for quality improvement has just begun. Almost the same process has taken effect in the field of pharmaceutical education (PE), such as the preparation of guidelines for PE and clinical training, a shift to a six-year course, and the establishment of an accreditation organization. The educational guidelines were revised in 2013 to provide better clinical training. Both of these educational revolutions aim at providing the proper education to train healthcare professionals committed to practicing “patient-centered medicine” and to becoming lifelong learners. To educate such professionals naturally includes improving their communicative competency, and cultivating their professionalism along with their acquisition of scientific and medical knowledge, based on both quantitative and qualitative study. The Society for Medical Education has begun a new “Medical education specialist (MES) training system” responding to the need of MES in every medical school and training hospital. A new PE specialist educational system can be expected soon, as well.

伝統的な多層パーセプトロンは,入出力関係が文脈に強く依存する場合や2つの独立な入力情報を統合する必要がある場合,学習・汎化能力が著しく低下する.別の言い方をすれば,2変数の関数の近似能力は極めて乏しく,学習サンプルとほぼ同数の中間層素子が必要である上に,サンプル数をいくら増やしても汎化誤差はほとんと減らない.このことを数値実験で示すと共に,その本質的原因を論じる.また,このような多層パーセプトロンの限界が,入力素子の選択的不感化という簡単な手法によって乗り越えられることを示す.

High buildings can have a multiplicity of functions. Their role is increasing more and more in land use of the city region. Recently, because of rapid increase in residential buildings, the residential structure of the whole city is changing. Residence in condominiums and apartment houses is a new life style in Japan, because traditionally Japanese did not have a habit of dwelling in high-rise housing. The characteristics of residents in residential buildings vary in relation to housing occupancy, the quality of house and so on. The purpose of this study is to clarify the development process of condominiums and the characteristics of the residents in residential buildings. The results of this study are summarised as follows:1. In Hiroshima City, there are some areas around the city center in which population showed an increase in the period 1975-80. Because private developers constructed many condominiums in those areas, there was an increase in home-owning households in the neighbourhoods of city center. After 1978, new condominiums which were constructed by private developers are concentrated in a 1-2km zone from the city center. In the central city regions, many offices, stores, and parking lots were converted into condominiums. On the other hand, in marginal city areas many warehouses and housing estates were converted into condominiums. The location and quality of condominiums vary according to their developers.2. Using the 1970, 1975 and 1980 Population Census of Japan, it was found that the structure of age, household members and occupations of residents varies according to the kind of housing. So a kind of segregation appears. The characteristics of residents in condominiums, public housing and company housing for employees are different.In private housing, there are rental housing in which many younger households with a few members reside and resident-owned housing in which many middle-aged households with 3-4 members reside. Many of these residents are engaged in white collar occupations. In public housing, there are many elderly people, especially in older units which are located near the central city area. And the ratio of elderly people who rent old public housing is increasing. By contrast, in new public housing in the suburbs the residents tend to be younger. Many of the residents in public housing engage in blue collar occupations. Blue collar workers living in company-provided housing tend to be younger than the civil servants living in officially-provided housing.It is thought that the in crease in condominiums in the inner city is inducing gentrification because residents of condominiums are white collar workers with a high socioeconomic status.3. By obtaining information through questionnaires given to residents in 34 samples of condominiums which were selected randomly in the old city region of Hiroshima City, the characteristics of the residents were clarified.There is a tendency for people to decide to migrate in order to increase their living space or because of work transfers. When they purchase a new house, they think much about living space, the convenience of traffic, access to their work place and convenience of shopping rather than the overall environment of the neighbourhood. People generally relocate a short distance, but there are variations in this pattern according the age and district.As is mentioned above, it is thought that development of condominiums will play an even greater role in urban renewal in the near future. So it is important to analyze their development process and the characteristics of their residents.

福島県太平洋岸北部の相馬市から南相馬市にかけての丘陵地帯に,中部ジュラ系~最下部白亜系の相馬中村層群が分布する.本層群は南部北上帯に属し,浅海性堆積物と河川堆積物が交互に繰り返しており,環境変化が大きい沿岸相を示す堆積物である.本層群は,かねてよりジュラ紀の軟体動物や植物化石の産地として知られていたが,最近,栃窪層からソテツ類など,中ノ沢層からアンモナイト,穿孔性二枚貝,甲殻類など,小山田層からアンモナイトなど,新種の発見が相次いでおり,本邦におけるジュラ紀~白亜紀の重要な化石産地として再認識されている.本巡検では,本層群中,粟津層,中ノ沢層,富沢層および小山田層の代表的な岩相を示す露頭を観察し,特に海生動物化石の産出状態を見る.最後に南相馬市博物館を訪れ,展示されている本層群のタイプ標本を観察する.
