The notion of integrity, one of the central concepts in business ethics, has been perceived as a virtue of character and recognized as an essential quality that manager and leader should hold. Every time corporate scandals and corporate unethical behavior come into the open, we repeatedly hear the word. However, despite the common sense that integrity is important, there is no common definition or understanding because of its ambiguity. In this paper, as a first step of understanding of integrity, I will roughly describe the outline of integrity. In that work, I will classify the previous studies on integrity into broad sense and narrow sense and then try to give integrated interpretation of integrity.

つる性の植物の地上部は、他の植物に巻きつくために垂直・水平方向に大きく展開し、様々な種類の植物と接触する。つる植物にとってどの植物に巻きつくかは、その後の生長を左右する極めて重要な決定である。つる植物の特徴的な旋回運動や巻きつき反応に関する研究はダーウィン以来多くなされているものの、つる植物のホスト選択における識別能力についてはこれまでほとんど研究されていなかった。近年われわれは、つる植物のなかでも巻きひげのもつ識別能として、自己識別能力(自株と同種の他株を見分ける能力)と同種識別能力(同種と他種を見分ける能力)のふたつに注目し、検証を行った。本稿では、これまでの巻きひげの応答研究について概説しつつ、著者等が明らかにしてきた巻きひげのホスト選択に関する研究を紹介する

シリコン神経ネットワークは,神経細胞に対応するシリコンニューロン回路,シナプスに対応するシリコンシナプス回路を組み合わせることによって作られた電子回路版神経ネットワークである。脳神経系の電気生理学的活動をリアルタイムあるいはそれ以上の速度で模倣することにより,超低消費電力や少ないデータからの学習など脳神経系のもつ優れた特性を受け継ぐことができると期待されている。しかし,神経ネットワークにおける情報処理の原理が完全に解明されておらず,脳神経系に匹敵するシステムの実現のために,シリコン神経ネットワークの研究者も「構築による解析」の立場からこの問題に寄与することが求められている。このため,現代のシリコン神経ネットワークにおいてはモデルの設計方法がより重要であり,いくつかのアプローチが存在するが,それらについて簡単に解説する。

Objective: Recent studies evaluating plaque protrusion at carotid artery stenting (CAS) using optical coherence tomography showed not a few cases of plaque protrusion when using double-layer micromesh stents. We report a case of symptomatic internal carotid artery (ICA) stenosis with at-risk unstable plaques in which CAS was successfully performed using a stent-in-stent technique by the combined use of a closed-cell stent and a dual-layer micromesh stent.Case Presentation: An 87-year-old Japanese man with dysarthria and right hemiparesis was diagnosed with atheromatous cerebral embolism caused by severe left ICA stenosis on MRI and DSA. MRI with T1-weighted black blood methods showed high intensities in the plaques of the left ICA, suggesting unstable plaque characteristics with intraplaque hemorrhage components. On day 20, CAS was performed. After the pre-stent dilation under proximal and distal protection, a Carotid WALLSTENT was placed to cover the stenotic lesion. Then, a CASPER Rx was placed from the proximal left ICA to the common carotid artery to cover the Carotid WALLSTENT. Although visible plaque debris was recognized in the aspirated blood, the debris became invisible after aspiration of 1300 mL. Postoperative angiography showed enough dilation of the left ICA, with no plaque protrusion or acute stent thrombosis. The patient had an uneventful postoperative course and was discharged without any neurological sequelae.Conclusion: The present case suggests that the combined stent-in-stent technique using a closed-cell stent and a micromesh stent can be considered as one of the treatment strategies for preventing plaque protrusion and procedural ischemic complications in patients with high-risk carotid plaques.

Proof theory was initiated by Hilbert for the foundation of mathematics, especially for carrying out "Hilbert's program". After Godel's incompleteness theorems, proof theory (ordinal analysis) has been developed as pure mathematics. It has been widely held that it is quite difficult to explain what has been gained in proof theory (ordinal analysis). In this paper we review the development of proof theory and its recent results for impredicative subsystems of analysis from the viewpoint of "analysis of impredicativity". We point out the main difficulties to explain conceptual significance of proof theory. Our conclusion is that such difficulties should be addressed by developing (not only proof theory as pure mathematics) philosophy of mathematics in future.

自律神経科学はストレス反応の科学と言って過言でない.ストレスには外部環境ストレスと内部環境ストレスがある.生体の細胞膜には環境ストレスを感知するバイオ・センサーがある.ストレス中枢のセキュリテイ・ゲート(脳の窓)は視床下部と脳室周囲器官である.ストレス・シグナルの伝達経路には神経制御系,液性制御系,細胞シグナル伝達系がある.ストレスから生体を守る視床下部・辺縁系の攪乱によって不眠,内臓症状,慢性疲労,記憶学習障害,筋痛,感覚過敏など多彩な症状が起こる(視床下部症候群,脳室周囲器官制御破綻症候群).ストレス反応の制御はテロメア損傷,老化,発癌,フレイルの予防につながる.一方,慢性腎臓病などの内部環境ストレスはテロメアを攻撃して,寿命短縮や発癌を誘発する.ストレスに関して基礎と臨床の両面から総合的にアプローチできるのが自律神経科学である.自律神経科学元年の幕開けとルネッサンスの到来を期待する.

This article explores the theme of same-sex love among men in Russian literature of the Silver Age by analyzing Mikhail Kuzmin’s novel Wings (1906), which is a symbolist novel, and Evdokia Nagrodskaia’s popular novels for women.The Wrath of Dionysus (1910) and At the Bronze Door (1914). During the Silver Age, numerous writers and philosophers explored the issues of gender and sexuality regardless of the tides in literature. In addition to the image of the “new woman” and androgyny, same-sex love became one of the main themes of Russian literature. Consequently, these works attracted the interest of many people because they sensationally depicted sexual themes. In the first chapter, to marshal confusing discourses and understand the context of their works, I divide the discourse of same-sex love in Russia into two paradigms.the paradigm of sexology and the paradigm of Russian philosophy of Eros. In the paradigm of sexology, same-sex love was not regarded as an action but as a specific form of identity called “homosexual.” Meanwhile, in the paradigm of Russian philosophy, same-sex love was associated with the utopian vision of “new human,” including misogyny or the notion of “people of the moonlight” that was originally used by Vasilii Rozanov. Therefore, the perception about same-sex love among people is different. Further, the second chapter reviews prior research on Wings. Previously, Wings was read as a coming out novel of a homosexual boy. However, I challenge this view because the notion of “coming out” or “homosexuality” is created by sexological paradigm that is based on identity. Notwithstanding that, in Wings, I cannot find a scene of coming out, an instance of construction of homosexual identity, or a moment of body attachment between men. Therefore, it is inappropriate to interpret Wings from the perspective of sexology. The third chapter analyzes Kuzmin’s Wings; here, I point out that some scholars claim that Wings was the first homosexual novel. However, I read this text, revealing the vision of the “new human,” the role of the body, and the meaning of “wings,” which are motifs of this work. This analysis reveals that Wings is closely related with the Russian philosophy of Eros, especially Rozanov's interpretation of the philosophy in People of the Moon Light. Kuzmin creates an aesthetical utopia in Wings, thereby rejecting the notion of sexology. The fourth chapter examines the image of same-sex love in the popular novels for women from the beginning of the 20th century, focusing on Nagrodskaia’s The Wrath of Dionysus and At the Bronze Door. Nagrodskaia is one of the most famous writers of popular novels and was inspired by Kuzmin. Her novels contained the theme of the sexology of “homosexual” people. In The Wrath of Dionysus, the protagonist’s act of coming out and explaining himself by discourses of sexology depicts homosexuality. On the other hand, in At the Bronze Door, a homosexual character plays an important role in the plot. Additionally, compared to that in Wings, Nagrodskaia clearly points out the picture of homosexual relationships. This article concludes Wings merely suggests same-sex love between men and that this type of relationship is not homosexual but rather a vague relationship experienced by men, which is a combination of fraternity and eroticism. However, other popular novels for women have explicitly represented same-sex love and portray “homosexual” people. To sum up, Kuzmin constructed the discourse of same-sex love on the basis of the Russian philosophy of Eros, and this discourse was transformed to the notion of sexology in Ngrodskaia’s works. Through this research, I rethink the primary theme in Wings and find connection between symbolism and other popular novels that were influenced by the notion of same-sex love. My research leads us to launch other queer studies that I use to pursue non-normative sexuality in Russian culture.

The purpose of this paper is to further our understanding of the intellectual context surrounding the editing of Jinjō Shōgaku-Shōka (Songs for Elementary Students) completed in June 1914. To that end, this paper analyzes the writings of YUHARA Motoichi, president of Tokyo Music School and chief editor of the above compilation. YUHARA showed understanding for socialism as he harbored deep concern for the distress of the urban poor. He did not impose a state-centered, totalitarian structure on the people. Moreover, he recommended music not only as fi ne arts of the upper classes, but also as applied art with the purpose of comforting the lower classes. Further, he tried to encourager music teachers who were experts in schoolchildren’s songs, with the goal of raising their awareness as educators. The concerns of YUHARA and his fellow co-editors for the social problems of the 1910s are reflected in the gentleness manifested within Jinjō Shōgaku-Shōka

本稿の目的は,創造美育運動に関するイメージの混乱を整理し,事実に即したより正確な定義を導くことにある。そのために,これまでに流布している創造美育運動に関する代表的な4つの言説を取り上げ,文献資料及び先行研究の成果に基づいて検証することにより,事実関係を明らかにすることを試みた。その結果,「(1)創造美育運動とは,創造主義美術教育を啓蒙,普及しようとする明確な意思に基づいて行われた,戦後の日本における美術教育の改革運動であり,その組織や運動の形態には創造美育協会設立の前と後とで質的に大きな相違がある」こと,及び「(2)創造美育運動の基本理念である創造主義美術教育は,久保貞次郎が欧米と日本の児童画の比較研究から得た知見をもとに,ホーマー・レイン,フランツ・チゼック,北川民次らの思想や実践に学び,構築したわが国固有の児童中心主義の美術教育である」ことを明らかにした。

大腸がん治療に汎用されるオキサリプラチンは,末梢神経障害を高頻度で発現し,その進行が治療の変更や中止に繋がることから,臨床上問題となっている.しかしながら有効な予防・治療法は確立されていない.牛車腎気丸は,腰痛,しびれなどの症状に用いられる漢方薬であり,近年オキサリプラチンによる末梢神経障害に有効であることが臨床研究において報告されている.しかし,その効果や作用メカニズム,オキサリプラチンの抗腫瘍効果への影響などの基礎研究はほとんど行われていなかった.そこで,著者らはオキサリプラチン誘発末梢神経障害に対する牛車腎気丸の作用について検討を行い,牛車腎気丸がオキサリプラチンによる急性の冷感過敏に対して予防や改善効果を,遅発性の機械的アロディニアに対して症状緩和作用を有することを見出した.さらに,牛車腎気丸の効果には,血管内皮細胞のnitric oxide synthase(NOS)活性の増加による血流量の増加とそれに伴う皮膚温の上昇が関与することも示唆された.また,牛車腎気丸はオキサリプラチンの抗腫瘍効果に対して影響しなかったことから,基礎研究においてもオキサリプラチンによる末梢神経障害に有用である可能性が示唆された.しかしながら,効果を得るためには高用量が必要であることや慢性神経障害である機械的アロディニアの発現に対して予防効果がみられなかったことから,今後さらに基礎研究や臨床試験を推進し,確かなエビデンスを構築することが重要である.
