The relationships between propofol plasma concentrations and the pharmacodynamic endpoints may differ according to a type of airway device. To clarify these relationships in different airway devices would be useful to avoid the complication such as apnea and intraoperative awareness. The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of difference of airway device on propofol requirement during maintenance of anesthesia in dogs. We compared the influence of airway devices on the plasma propofol concentrations for apnea, response to mechanical ventilation, and response to airway device between endotracheal tube (ETT) and supraglottic airway device (SGAD) in Beagles. The pharmacodynamic effects were repeatedly assessed at varying propofol concentrations. The plasma concentrations (mean ± SD) of propofol in the ETT and SGAD groups were 10.2 ± 1.8 and 10.9 ± 2.4 μg/ml for apnea (P=0.438), 7.9 ± 1.2 and 7.4 ± 1.5 μg/ml for response to mechanical ventilation (P=0.268), and 5.2 ± 0.7 and 5.4 ± 1.5 μg/ml for response to airway device (P=0.580), respectively. Required propofol concentration during maintenance of anesthesia may be similar between ETT and SGAD. Without moderate to strong stimuli such as airway device insertion or painful stimulation during surgery, the type of airway device may have little impact on required propofol concentration during maintenance of anesthesia in dogs.

電子情報資源の増大は図書館員の業務を一変させた。その反面, 紙媒体の情報資源管理を目的とした総合図書館システム(Integrated Library System, ILS)を利用して, 基幹の受け入れ業務を行っている図書館がまだまだ主流をしめている。紙媒体の情報資源と電子情報資源とは性格の異なる部分が多く, 今や電子情報資源管理を支援する適切なツールの不在は明らかである。本稿では, 電子情報資源管理システム(ERMS)の現状とその機能について, 主に北米の大学図書館における取り組みを紹介していく。

Since the sixties of the 20th century the social movements and studies of Feminism have spread throughout the world. In recent years the theories and practices of Queer appear and are in the spotlight. Against the background of these social phenomena, Judith Butler and Momoko Nakamura have studied 'Language, Gender and Power' on the frame of reference of Michel Foucault, Pierre Bourdieu, Critical Discoure Analysis and so on. In the first chapter of this paper, I survey the theories of cultural reproduction and habitus of Bourdieu. From the nineties of the 20th century Japnese sociologists, including Takashi Miyajima, have applied these thoeries to Japanese society and culture. After survey working, in the second chapter I intend to reconsider and arrange the genealogical studies of sexuality (sexualite) of Foucault and Butler. And in the third chapter I deal with Butler's criticism of the theories of Bourieu in her work "Excitable Speech: A Politics of the Performative" (1997). Butler estimates the merit of the genealogical works of Foucault, while she critically comments on the theories of cultural reproduction, habitus and symbolic power in sociology of Bourdieu.

Hikoshima Smelting Co., Ltd. is located at the western end of Honsyu. The plant switched from a horizontal retort process to an electrolytic zinc process in 1970. Hikoshima Co., Ltd. had made various improvements to reduce the operating costs about roasting, leaching, purification, electrolysis, casting, labor-saving and so on. In addition, the annual capacity extended from 55,000 tons to 74,000 tons during several expansion stages.Main products are zinc alloys for hot galvanizing and zinc anodes for plating.This paper describes these recent improvements and operations.

This paper presents an experimental study of reverse transition occurred in the boundary layer flow along a flat plate placed at the center of two-dimensional symmetrical contraction. The experiments were carried out in the contractions of three kinds: Cheers, cosine and WITOSZYNSKI types. the reverse transition was examined based on the velocity profile, thickness and turbulence of the boundary layer along the flat plate. The results were discussed in comparison with those of existing in vestigations.

映像,演劇など映像と音声にて表現されるコンテンツにおける聴覚障害者向けバリアフリー対応として字幕の付与がある.日本において,地上波放送では字幕放送が増えつつあるが,演劇等ではほとんど付与されていない.また,演劇鑑賞においては,皆が集まって観劇するため楽しみ方はほかの観客の反応にも大きく影響される.私たちは,演劇における字幕付与方法および観客の反応を表示する仕組みを提案して実装,演劇公演にて利用し評価したThis paper addresses information support for hearing-impaired people. In present Japan, there are few theater programs with captions for hearing-impaired persons. A few programs that provide captions for hearing-impaired persons also only show a dialogue and sound (note sign). It is offered as a part of the pleasure of theater. We propose a caption presentation method for hearing-impaired persons in theater plays. The method has to show dialogues and sounds of the play program and applause from the audience. We implement the method and evaluate it.
