<p>The objective of this study was to evaluate observer's impressions of roost containing behavior and to assess the effectiveness of awareness efforts regarding the conservation of the barn swallow (<i>Hirundo rustica</i>), which is endangered in Japan. In Kanagawa Prefecture retarding park, a group of observers habitually meets to observe the roost containing of the barn swallow, and a questionnaire was administered to 97 participants recruited from this group. Analysis using the semantic differential method revealed the impressions of swallow roost containing to be as follows: 1) There was a high tendency to have a positive impression with or without observation experience. 2) There was a tendency to feel the beauty, a sense of oneness with nature and the life force. The questionnaire description had many comments that awareness regarding swallow conservation has improved, and that observation of the roost containing educates the public about the environment. Observation of the visual scene created by the roost containing the swallows was found to contribute to improving awareness regarding the conservation of swallows in Kanagawa Prefecture.</p>

<p><tt>本研究では,動物園の役割のひとつである「環境教育」に着眼し,その効果を高める上で重要なツールである解説板の設置位置と来園者行動との関係性を検討した。横浜市立金沢動物園のインドゾウ展示場を対象に,解説板の設置位置を</tt>3 <tt>パターンに分け,展示場前の観覧通路を</tt>7 <tt>区分した上で来園者行動の観察および来園者に直接解説板への関心の有無を確認し,解説板に対する関心度合の把握を行った。その結果,来園者の解説板に対する関心は高いことに加え,解説板を展示場の両端に設置した場合と中央に設置した場合とでは来園者行動が異なることなど,動物園における「環境教育」の機会がより広がる有用な知見が得られた。</tt></p>

In this study, a small-form-factor optical pickup (SFFOP), corresponding to the Blu-ray disc (BD) specifications has been developed. The developed SFFOP is composed of an integrated optical pickup and a swing-arm-type actuator. The integrated optical pickup has been developed in the form of an array using wafer-level fabrication technology. The developed SFFOP is composed of the fundamental optics which yields a numerical aperture (NA) of 0.85 and uses a blue laser diode having a short wavelength of 407 nm and a silicon optical bench, which consists of a laser diode, a photodiode and several mounts for the laser diode, an objective lens and mirrors. The micro objective lens is bonded to the lens holder on the SFFOP by an active alignment using a modified Mach–Zehnder interferometer. Also, a static focus error signal was detected to assemble a polarized holographic optical element. Through the measurement of the focus error signal with a swing-arm-type actuator, which was developed for the SFFOP, it is estimated that the developed SFFOP satisfies the BD specifications with the balance of the focus error signal below 10%.

Our recordable LCD TVs are equipped with front loading Blu-ray disc drive. The front loading provides ease of use for beginners, but it increases a size of packing box of the TV. This paper proposes a new mounting arrangement of the disc drive that can reduce the size of packing and presents its effect.

A microlens of numerical aperture (NA) 0.85 a small-form-factor optical pickup, following the specifications of the Blu-ray disc (BD), was designed, fabricated and evaluated. To avoid difficulties in the fabrication of a high-NA objective lens and to obtain a low chromatic aberration, a new hybrid lens unit was designed to have a refractive lens and a diffractive lens. The micro-plano-aspheric refractive lens was fabricated using glass molding technology, and the diffractive lens was fabricated in a two-dimensional array using the electron beam mastering and consecutive UV embossing process. For the evaluation of the developed lens unit, diffraction efficiency was measured with the proposed diffraction efficiency measurement method, and the wavefront error of the lens unit was evaluated using a modified Mach–Zehnder interferometer. The measured average efficiency of the diffractive lens was approximately 85% and the RMS wavefront error of the lens unit was 0.0376 $\lambda$rms.

『世医得効方』は元代の医学者,危亦林(1277〜1347)が著した医方書である。危亦林は南豊(現在の江西省)の生まれ,字を達斎という。内科,婦人科,小児科,眼科のほか,骨折や脱臼の治療にも通じていたと伝えられ,現在の外科学や歯科の知識も持っていたようである。その序は1337年に書かれているが,古来の医方があまりに多く「一証而百方具」というありさまであるので,これを『聖済総録』の分類に倣って13科に分け,5代にわたって伝えられてきた秘方を加えてこの本をまとめたと書かれている。 序文が書かれてから8年ほど後,江西医学太医院の審査を経て至正5年(1345)『世医得効方』は刊行された。自身も医学教授を務めていたといわれ,代々続く医師の家の人物が,わが家に伝わる秘方と文献とを駆使して,後学のためにわかりやすい医書を編纂しようと思い立ったというところであろうか。

確定拠出年金導入企業は、加入者に運用資産メニューを提示し、加入者は制約の下で運用を行う。本 稿では、雇用主(企業)側の行動を明らかにする第一歩として、企業型確定拠出年金担当者に対するア ンケート調査のデータを用いて、雇用主の確定拠出年金提供に対する姿勢(熟練度や熱心さ)と提供さ れる選択肢の関係について分析を行った。分析の結果、他の退職給付制度や年金からの資金の移換がな く、確定拠出年金の導入時期が遅く、担当者の熱心でかつ熟練度が高く、従業員数が少ない企業は、元 本確保型金融商品に偏らない運用資産メニューを提示する傾向があることがわかった。反対に、移換資 産があり、確定拠出年金の導入時期が早かった企業は、確定拠出年金の運用資産メニューに占める元本 保証型金融商品の割合が高い傾向があることが明らかになった。1.はじめに2.確定拠出年金導入企業が加入者に与える影響3.確定拠出年金導入企業に関する分析4.おわりに

週刊誌中吊り広告を提案するにあたって,その制作の手がかりを得るために,週刊誌中吊り広告とその本誌を対象サンプルとして,イメージ調査を行った。調査データを因子分析した結果,サンプルに対する被験者のイメージ評価は4因子で構成されていることが判明した。この第1因子の「好感度」と第2〜4因子の「躍動感」「大衆性」「重厚感」を軸に,それぞれのサンプルの確率集中楕円を描いたところ,各サンプルのイメージ像が浮かびあがってきた。これらの調査結果を生かした,ひとつの提案として,週刊誌中吊り広告のデザインを試みた。今回の調査結果は,中吊り広告ばかりではなく,文字を主とした広告のデザインにあたっての有用な参考資料になると考える。

The activities of natural radionuclides, 238U, 234U, 226Ra, 228Ra, 222Rn, 210Pb and 210Po in ground waters collected from Okinawa Island were measured. The 234U/238U activity ratios in most samples showed more or less unity, whereas, relatively high values of 2.0-4.0 were obtained in samples from Motobu area. 222Rn activities in the ground waters were much higher than the other uranium series nuclides. The 222Rn/226Ra activity ratios ranged from 3000 to 29000, and those for 210Po/210Pb were from 0.08 to 0.82. On the whole, activities of the nuclides in the ground waters at the studied points showed higher in the order of 222Rn≫210Pb>234U>238U>226Ra>210Po. In addition to α_recoil dissolution, the selective absorption and/or desorption by some organic or inorganic substances in the aquifer may be happening.

<p>We aimed to examine the management method regarding the facilities of Yokohama Zoo based on visitor satisfaction. We employed a questionnaire survey to examine visitor satisfaction in the "African Savannah" area of Yokohama Zoo; the satisfaction trends for weekdays and holidays were analyzed separately. Results show that the majority of visitors comprised middle- to old-aged women on weekdays and families on holidays. Further, visitor satisfaction was generally high, especially in terms of "cleanliness." We also found that visitor satisfaction on weekdays was primarily affected by "variety of animals" and "direction of space," besides some factors excluded from the survey for holidays, such as the "learning effect," "ease of walking on walkways," and "maintenance of landscape plants." The factors affecting visitor satisfaction on holidays also included "va riety of animals" and "direction of space," in addition to some factors excluded from the survey for weekends - "feeling of cleanliness," "descriptions on explanatory signboards," and "maintenance of rest facilities." Based on the above results, we reviewed the management method of the zoo to improve visitor satisfaction and, by extension, to increase the number of visitors.</p>
