日常生活において我々は所属するコミュニティに貢献する活動を分担して行っている.その1つに,研究室などのように部屋を共用する場合の共用ゴミ箱のゴミ出しがある.このゴミ出しにおいて,ゴミをあまり捨てていない人がゴミ出し当番となると,その人は不公平感を覚えるという問題が生じる.本稿では,この不公平感を解消することを目的とし,個人認識をすることなく,各人の捨てたゴミの量の割合に応じた確率でゴミ出し当番を自動選出する「出す当ボックス」を提案する.評価実験の結果,ゴミ出し当番を決定する際に不公平感は生じなかったが,ゴミ捨てがゴミ出し当番になる確率を上げることに繋がることと,ゴミ出し当番を通知する際に用いられる写真を撮られることから,ゴミ捨てへの抵抗感が生じたことが分かった.In daily life, people usually share some activities for contributing to their community. For example, when people share one room such as a laboratory, it is one of such activities to take out garbage from their shared trash box. However, if a member of the community who has thrown the small amount of trash is required to become a dustman, he or she might feel unfair. In this paper, we propose "Judgemental Trash Box", which determines a dustman automatically without personal identification, based on the amount of trash thrown by each member. As the result of an experimental evaluation of the proposed system, it is found that the participants do not feel unfair when this system chooses a dustman. However, they do not want to throw trash because throwing trash is directly related to raising their probability of assigning to a dustman. Moreover, they feel uncomfortable because the system unexpectedly takes their pictures for informing next dustman to all community's members.

テンサンを同一圃場で放養形式により継続飼育すると, 核多角体病ウイルス (NPV) で圃場が汚染され, それが原因となって違作を生ずることは既に報告した。そこで, 今回圃場に棲息する昆虫による病原伝播の可能性, 土壌および飼育樹に残存する病原を不活化する方途など, 作柄安定に資する方法を総合的に検討した。その結果, 次の事実が明らかとなった。(1) 圃場に棲息密度の高いアリ, アブラムシは本病病原の伝播を助長させる。(2) 飼育が終了したクヌギの枝葉に病原の残存が認められる。(3) 土壌に残存する病原は, 表層から約2cmまでにその大半が蓄積している。(4) 土壌に残存する病原は火炎放射消毒 (先端温度1,800℃) することにより, 不活化することができる。(5) 稚蚕期の減蚕の大半はアリによる食害が原因である。

The influences of air-powder polishing with glycine or sodium bicarbonate powders on shear bond strengths (SBS) and surface-free energies of universal adhesives were examined. Scotchbond Universal Adhesive (SU, 3M ESPE), G-Premio Bond (GP, GC), Adhese Universal (AU, Ivoclar Vivadent), and All-Bond Universal (AB, Bisco) were used in this study. Bovine dentin surfaces were air polished with glycine or sodium bicarbonate powders prior to the bonding procedure, and resin pastes were bonded to the dentin surface using universal adhesives. SBSs were determined after 24-h storage in distilled water at 37°C. Surface-free energy was then determined by measuring contact angles using three test liquids on dentin surfaces. Significantly lower SBSs were observed for dentin that was air-powder polished and surface-free energies were concomitantly lowered. This study indicated that air-powder polishing influences SBSs and surface-free energies. However, glycine powder produced smaller changes in these surface parameters than sodium bicarbonate.

下腹部手術の術後鎮痛は,IV-PCAなどを用いたオピオイドが一般的であるが,体性痛への不十分な効果と過量による副作用が問題となる.一方,局所麻酔薬治療(神経ブロックなど)の併用により,オピオイド減量と術後鎮痛の質的改善が知られている.近年の超音波ガイド下局所麻酔法の普及は,TAPブロックなど腹壁神経ブロックの効果の確実性を高めた.当施設では開腹手術や腹腔鏡手術などに腹壁の末梢神経ブロックを積極的に使用し,鎮痛効果の改善と術中の筋弛緩を得ている.今後,腹壁ブロックの術後鎮痛と患者満足度を向上させる多面的鎮痛(multimodal analgesia)の一つとしての可能性を検討したい.

エッセイ(Essay)この物語は宇治と祇園の二つの地が舞台です。宇治は山宣(山本宣治;1882-1929 性科学者、産児調節運動のリーダー)の父(亀松)と母(タネ)の生家です。祇園はタネの友人のタカがいました。ここはタカの関係者が東京からやってきました。夏目漱石、松井須磨子、島村抱月一座などです。『祇園夜話』で有名な吉井勇や長田幹彦が接待しましたが、今でも晩秋になると白川では「かにかくに祭」が行われ、芸者舞子らがつどい当時を偲びます。This story will be performed in Uji and Gion. Uji was the place where Kamematsu and Tane, the parents of Yamasen were born (Yamamoto Senji; 1882~1920, a sexologist and expert of birth control pragmatist), and Gion was a the area Tane's friend Taka lived. In the Taisho era, Natsume Soseki, Matsui Sumako and Shimamura Hogetsu often visited Gion, and there was a big boom of light novels (famous writers where Hasegawa Shigure and Nagata Mikihiko, and Yoshii Isamu who published Gion Yawa) Still now, a party called "Kanikakuni festival" is annually held in the late autumn: many Maiko and Geisha get together at Shirakawa riverside in memory of that time.
