Actomyosins from coho salmon, rainbow trout, stone flounder, carp, skipjack, common mackerel and jack mackerel white muscles, and coho salmon dark muscle were combined with astaxanthin or canthaxanthin. These actomyosins bound with a high affinity to astaxanthin. The actomyosins from salmonids showed a higher affinity to ketocarotenoids than those of other fishes except common mackerel. A correlation between surface hydrophobicity of actomyosins and combination of astaxanthin and/or canthaxanthin with actomyosins was observed. The selective accumulation mechanism for ketocarotenoids is discussed.

Arch bridge is one of the bridges which have long time history in the world. It is supposed that the first arch bridge was constructed in the Middle and Near East. From the Middle and Near East, arch bridge technique were transmitted to Rome, China or another country. It is sure that the arch bridge technique was transmitted from China to Japan in the Edo period.We examine in this paper the possibility that the arch bridge technique was transmitted from China to Japan before the Edo period.We are proposing that the transmission of the arch bridge technique should be studied with considering another cultural transmission.

高解像度の画像から低解像度のピクセルアートを生成する方法を提案する.まず,高解像度画像上に正方形のブロックをすき間や重なりなく敷き詰めるようにして,高解像度画像をブロック分割する.次に,各ブロックをピクセルアートのピクセルとみなし,そこに単一の色を割り当てることによってピクセルアートを構成する.各ブロックの色を決定するために,計算効率のよい非反復アルゴリズムを提案する.提案法によって,従来法よりも対象の形状の崩れやぼけが少ないピクセルアートが得られることを実験で確認する.

In this report, the author proposes the phrase, Philosophy of Pharmacy. In Japan, such a phrase has scarcely been used by pharmacists because they have considered medicines and drugs as materials and have not focused on their patients enough. As a way for pharmacists to consider their patients more, the author recommends the following two philosophies: 1. Revision of the Pharmacists Act Article 1: A pharmacist is to contribute to the improvement and promotion of public health by dispensing of medicine, and supplying medicines and other pharmaceutical health and sanitation services, thereby ensuring citizens lead healthy lives. The above, Article 1, needs to be revised by adding the following sentence. In addition, pharmacists should observe the new code of ethics for pharmacists introduced in 2018, and sympathize with patients to contribute to their medication. 2. Fully Consider Patients' Needs The author made a figure illustrating the relations between natural science(pharmacy),cultural science, social science and cultural art with care taken to fully consider the needs of the patient.

食品には,本来感じられないにおいが感じられることがある.我々はこのにおいをオフフレーバーと呼んでいる.牛乳においても,餌あるいは乳牛の体調によりヘキサナールのようなオフフレーバーが感じられることはよく知られている.我々はすでに市販牛乳からオフフレーバー物質として2-ヨード-4-メチルフェノール(以後2I4MPと略称する)を初めて発見し,その構造を明らかにした.今回,以下の3点について検討した.第一にどのような化合物を出発物質として2I4MPが生成されたのか.この問題は有機合成手法を用いて推定し,候補物質としてp-クレゾールを挙げた.第二に牛舎内でどのようにして2I4MPが発生したのか.牛から排泄された牛糞にヨウ素を作用させることによって2I4MPが発生のすることを確認した.第三に,2I4MPがどのようにして生乳に移行したのか.デシケーターを用いたモデルを作成して移行推定を実施し,2I4MPが牛舎内で生乳に移行する可能性を示した.この結果から,2I4MPを牛乳中に混入させないための方策を提案した.すなわち,搾乳時に乳房殺菌に使用されるヨウ素系殺菌剤を他の殺菌剤に代替する,あるいはヨウ素系殺菌剤を牛糞や床敷きに落下させないようにする.以上を守ることが重要である.

There are two types of assessments in physical therapy: top-down and bottom-up. Top-down evaluations, which we recommend, focus on movement observation and analysis. In this article, we introduce some points for analyzing ankle joint problems. When observing movements, determining the details of the movements according to the type of movement is sometimes difficult. In such cases, dynamic alignment evaluation is occasionally performed, an example of which is presented in this article. In addition, patients with ankle joint diseases often have limited range of motion of ankle dorsiflexion. Multiple factors contribute to ankle dorsiflexion limitation, such as flexor hallucis longus and Kager’s fat pad, which we describe in this study using an ultrasound imaging system.

The east and the north walls of the burial chamber of the 6th Dynasty Saqqara tomb of Idut (usurped from Ihy) ane inscribed with almost identical offering lists of 96 items. I studied these lists, reconstructing them to the extent possible, using the five main sequences of an offering ritual suggested by G. Lapp: 1. introductory rites, 2. Opening of the Mouth rites, 3. introductory rites (repeated), 4. invitation to the deceased, and 5. the presentation of food offerings. The origin of this offering ritual can be traced to the royal ritual seen in the Pyramid Texts Spells 23-171, and the repetitive formula in the Spells was presumably recited, while the offerings were made. Research on these lists elucidates the metaphorical implications embedded in the names of the offerings, each of which refers to the ‘Eye of Horus’, and demonstrates that the ‘magical effect’ of the lists is to support the deceased Idut in her transformation into the divine _??_-state through the offering ritual.

Drag reduction by bubble injection in turbulent boundary layers was investigated using a 36-m-long flat-bottom model ship. The model ship was towed at 8.0 m/s, resulting in a downstream-distance-based Reynolds number as high as 2.9 × 108. The total resistance exerting on the model ship was reduced, and the resistance reduction increased with the air flow rate for the bubble injection. The local wall shear stress on the bottom plate was measured at multiple locations to clarify the streamwise transition of the drag reduction. The local drag reduction observed at the upstream measurement locations was increased with the air flow rate. The higher gas flow rate, moreover, produced the longer streamwise persistence of the drag-reduction effect. These multiple factors improved the efficiency of the total resistance reduction against the power consumption for the bubble injection. We provide the estimation of total frictional drag reduction for the full-scale ships using the equation of the local friction coefficient obtained experimentally. The results of the model ship experiment and the full-scale estimation consistently indicated that the downstream persistence of the local drag-reduction effect strongly affect the total drag reduction of such the long hulls.

Crystallographic assessment of the hydrogen embrittlement behavior of Al–Zn–Mg alloy was performed by means of a technique combining fracture trajectory analysis and synchrotron X-ray diffraction contrast tomography. The 3D microstructure reconstructed using diffraction contrast tomography contained 119 grains. Fracture surfaces revealing intergranular fracture, ductile fracture, and quasi-cleavage fracture were observed in the alloy. While the intergranular crack initiated at a grain boundary with high grain boundary energy and a high angle between the grain boundary plane and loading direction, the crack propagation itself was not observed to be sensitive to these two parameters. The quasi-cleavage fracture surfaces were not characterized by any specific crystal orientation because of variation in the free surface segregation energy of hydrogen uniforms without depending on surface orientation.

新型コロナウイルスの感染拡大と、その対応に伴う政治・経済・社会状況の変化の中で、学校教育を問い直す動きが活発化している。特に、政治主導のもとでの一斉休校は、そのあまりの唐突さによって、「子どもの生活を守る」という学校の機能に光をあてることになった。さらに、学校再開時に行われた「分散登校」は、日本では長く据え置かれてきた多人数学級の仕組みを少人数学級へと導く原動力となった。こうした動きの背景について、コロナ禍直前の学校の姿を、子どもたちの実態と社会構造の観点から捉えることを通して、学校教育の何が問い直されているのかを明らかにしていく。それらを通して、これからの学校教育の姿を検討する。

Statins have been recognized clinically to raise blood glucose and glycated protein (HbA1c) levels enhancing the development of insulin resistance. However, most clinicians appear to adopt the interpretation that the benefit (prevention of CHD) outweighs the risk (new-onset of diabetes mellitus). Consistently, "Japan Atherosclerosis Society Guidelines for the Prevention of Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Diseases 2012" recommends diabetics to maintain LDL-C levels below 120 mg/dL; 40 mg/dL lower than the value for those without risky complications. This recommendation necessitates many diabetics to use statins. However, we pointed out that statins exhibited no significant benefit for the prevention of CHD in the trials performed by scientists independent of industries after 2004, when a new regulation on clinical trials took effect in EU (Cholesterol Guidelines for Longevity, 2010). Here, we reviewed clinical evidence that statins could induce diabetes mellitus, and biochemical evidence that statins are toxic to mitochondria; they suppress electron transport and ATP generation through decreased prenyl-intermediate levels. They also inhibit seleno-protein synthesis and dolichol-mediated glycation of insulin receptor leading to insulin resistance and cardiac failure, similarly to the case of Se-deficiency. These mechanisms of statin actions are consistent with clinically observed decreases in blood ketone body, mitochondrial dysfunctions and enhanced glucose intolerance. Based on these lines of evidence, we urgently propose that statins are contraindicant to diabetics and their prescription should be restricted to special cases* for which medical doctors rationally decide to be necessary.

本稿は、当事者研究、すなわち日常生活を送っていくにあたり何らかの苦労や困難を持つ人々による自分たち自身を対象とした共同研究(我々のデータでは、精神障害を持つ人々のグループセッション)という実践を主題とする。そして、このグループセッションという相互行為において、ある者が当事者をする中でファシリテーターを担っていることに注目し、このことの意義ならびに、そのような担い手によるいくつかのやり方を解明することを目的とする。ときに、この担い手はファシリテーターから離れた参加者としてもふるまうが、これがいかにして可能であり、また、その可能性の下でどのように首尾よく成し遂げられているのかを検討し、プレセッションにおいてすべての参加者が行う、自己病名の語りを通した自己紹介によって当事者としての共成員性が確立することを見いだす。また、このファシリテーターはどのように発言の順番をデザインしているのかを分析し、ファシリテーターはほぼすべての順番を自己選択で取り、またしばしば次話者選択をする一方で、次話者選択しない場合にも、状況に応じた適切な指し手を繰り出していることを見いだす。
