植物は光環境の変化に対して様々な応答を示す. 最近の研究により, 数種の多肉植物において光と乾燥ストレスの二つの要因によって葉緑体が集合するという現象が見出されている. 多肉植物は乾燥地に多く生育していることから, この現象は乾燥ストレスに起因する光障害からの形態学的な防御機構であると考えられている. このような多肉植物の乾燥適応機構を明らかにすることは, 耐乾燥性植物を開発していく上で重要な知見となる. 本研究では, 光の波長の違いが葉緑体の集合運動に及ぼす影響について調査した. 観察手段として, 生物学や医学における生体解析に有用な共焦点レーザ走査型顕微鏡を用い, 蛍光観察を行った. その結果, 青色光および紫外光が葉緑体の集合運動に関与していることが示唆された.

The circumvallate papillae and foliate papillae of the pigs tongue were studied with an optical and an electron microscope. The materials was obtained from 15 individuals (original country ; Hampshire and Landrace) ages 6-7 months. Main results obtained were as follows. 1. The circumvallate papillae, showing ellipse in shape, were found in a pair symmetrically located near the indistinct border between the tongue root and body. The secondary papillae, which were well developed were observed over 10 in number on their dorsal surface. There were the mucous glands, opening to their dorsal epithelium surface, and solitary lymphonodules in the lamina propria mucosae. 2. The foliate papillae, showing oval bulges on the mucous membrane, were found in a pair symmetrically located on the tongue margin opposed to the circumvallate papillae. They consisted of parallel ridges with 3-6 grooves. There were the mixed glands, opening to the bottom of the furrows, and solitary lymphonodules in the lamina propria mucosae. 3. Occassionally, a cell-like structure which filled the taste canal was found in the buds. Its appearance was suggestive of either wandering of a leucocyte or discharge of a cell of the buds. 4. There occassionally occurred buds with two pores among the large-sized ones. 5. Three cell types, I, II and III, except undifferentiated cells in the basal portion were clearly discriminated in the buds, as in other mammalia. 6. There were sometimes recognized the dark cored nuclear bodies in the nucleus of the type II cell, and isolate cilium in the lateral surface of the type III cell. 7. Some of the taste hairs, microvilli, appeared to be had club-like with bulged tip.

Young's modulus and Poisson's ratio, which characterized elastic properties of a material, were measured bymeans of compress utensil and digital images captured by digital camera, and the elastic values were evaluated. Atissue of boiled Japanese radish and carrot root, which is too fragile to measure their Poisson's ratio by traditionalmethods, was used as sample materials. Cylindrical samples were cut out of the tissue using a precise apparatusand their dimensions were set to 15mm height and 30mm diameter. The samples were then compressed. The stressof the samples against compression was measured using a creep meter. The compressed deformation of the sampleswas captured by a digital camera and accurately analyzed by high resolution digital images. The Poisson's ratio wascalculated from differences in the sample deformation in digital images. A Young's modulus was also calculatedfrom the compressed deformation and the stress. As a result, the Poisson's ratio of boiled Japanese radish wasfound to be constant or slightly decrease with boiling elapsed time. The Poisson's ratio of carrot also decreasedwith boiling, and its value was smaller than the Japanese radish's. On the other hand, the Young's modulus for eachsample decreased sharply when boiling started but after 4 minutes boiling it was stabilized at low values.

Jahrzehntelang haben sich die Deutschen mit der eigenen Vergangenheit der NS-Zeit auseinandergesetzt. Jedoch passierte das anfangs nur stockend, denn immer noch kämpften Politiker mit ihren Ansichten, und somit schwankte auch die Art und Weise der Auseinandersetzung mit dem Krieg. Erst Ende der 60er Jahre, als die NS-Prozesse immer aktueller wurden, vertrat man die Meinung, das eigene Volk aufzuklären und die NS-Wirklichkeit endlich der ganzen Nation vor Augen zu halten. Durch Bestrebungen in den 70er und 80er Jahren sind jetzt zahlreiche Gedenkstätten, Mahnmale, Dokumentarfilme, Bücher usw. entstanden. Es kam zu immer kritischeren Diskussionen über die Verstrickungen einzelner in das NS-System und schließlich über die nationalsozialistische Prägung der deutschen Gesellschaft und ihrer Nachkriegskultur.Bernhard Schlink zeigt in seinem Buch Der Vorleser (1995), das von einer Liebesgeschichte, einem NS-Prozess und der moralischen Folge des HoIocausts gleichermaßen erzählt, das Dilemma der Nachgeborenen. Dabei wird eine schwer zu beantwortenden Frage aufgeworfen: „Was sollte und soll meine Generation der Nachlebenden eigentlich mit den Informationen über die Furchtbarkeiten der Vernichtung der Juden anfangen?" Die jüngere Generation sollte mit eigener Kraft der Gefahr der „Betäubung" und des „Verstummens" entkommen. Aber wie? Die Antwort ist dieses Buch, denn es wurde geschrieben, nicht nur um die Vergangenheit loszuwerden, sondern auch um sie zu registrieren und zu analysieren. Was den heutigen und zukünftigen Generationen bleibt, ist wohl dieser tiefe innerliche Konflikt. Die Literatur bietet anders als Rechtsprechung, Geschichtswissenschaft und Pädagogik den Vorteil, der neuen Generation noch gedanklichen Spielraum zu lassen.Dieses Buch bekam überall, vor allem auch im Ausland, großen Beifall, obwohl darin eine ehemalige Aufseherin einer Konzentrationslager zum ersten Mal als Mensch mit vielseitigen Charakterzügen und nicht als dunkle Figur dargestellt wird, und die inneren Konflikte der Nachgeborenen sehr ehrlich angesprochen werden. Der Erfolg des Buches erklärt sich vielleicht auch dadurch, dass es mittlerweile eine Vielzahl von Versuchen gab, die Wirklichkeit der damaligen Geschehnisse ans Licht zu bringen, und dass dies langsam auch vom Ausland akzeptiert und anerkannt wird.

Geochemical study on Yugama, a crater lake at Kusatsu-Shirane volcano, has been conducted since 1966. Amounts of various cationic species in Yugama water started increasing around 1981, slightly before the phreatic eruptions in 1982-1983, and kept increasing until 1985. In 1986, they turned to decrease and at present restore their former levels before the eruptions. The concentration of sulfate ion showed a secular change similar to those of cationic species, but no such variation was observed for chloride ion even during the 1976 and 1982-1983 eruptions. However, it started increasing in 1989. A high correlation between the concentrations of chloride and hydrogen ions suggests an increasing influx of hydrogen chloride from the deep volcanic systems under the lake. A Cl^--SO₄^2- is an excellent monitor of the variation in volcanic activity at Kusatsu-Shirane volcano; all of the three past activities since 1966, i.e., the high-level subsurface activity in 1968, the eruption in 1976 and the eruptions in 1982-1983, showed a reverse secular change with time in the Cl^--SO₄^2- plot. This could be attributable to the function of Yugama water as a condenser of volatiles released underground.

本稿では, モバイルエージェントの形式化を行うため, プロセス代数π-計算に基づくネットワークプログラミング言語Nepi^2の言語仕様を拡張し処理系を実装する.この拡張は非決定和演算子に関するもので, モバイルエージェント処理系構築に要求するNepi^2言語の自己記述に必要である.Nepi^2を拡張した上で, 拡張言語の自己記述を与える.これによって, プロセス代数π-計算に基づくモバイルエージェントのための基礎づけを行う.

Novel one-pot synthesis of 2,3-benzodiazepines from aryne precursors was accomplished. Tofisopam, well-known anxiolytics, could be synthesized via C–C bond insertion of 4,5-dimethoxybenzyne with 2-ethyl-1-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)butane-1,3-dione, followed by the reaction with hydrazine hydrate in a one-pot operation. This protocol is applicable to the synthesis of other biologically active 2,3-benzodiazepines, such as Girisopam and Nerisopam.

本研究では,精度および詳細度の高いブロガー分析手法の開発を行った.さらに,情報発信者および情報受信者としてのブロガー分析に基づく,信頼性の高い情報の判定技術,トレンド情報の抽出技術,情報発信者のプロファイリング技術とこれに基づく情報推薦技術の開発に取り組んだ.成果としては,研究協力を頂いている企業において,本研究の成果の一部を実サービスにて活用していただくなど,技術の実用化という意味でも成果を上げている.特に,流行トレンドの早期発見方式に関する研究では,難関国際会議での論文採択や推薦論文としての学会論文誌への採択を受けると共に,国内研究会発表にて3度受賞するなど,学会においても高く評価された.

ニンポーキンカンの着色を促進し, 早期収量を増加させるためのエスレル(2-chloroethylphosphonic acid)の最適散布時期と濃度をきめるために, 加世田市の栽培者の園で3年間実験を行なった.第1実験ではエスレル0ppm, 200ppm, 400ppmを11月4日に散布した.エスレルは着色を促進し, その効果は濃度の高い方が著しく, 特に赤色の発現が顕著であった.第2実験ではエスレル0ppm, 200ppm, 400ppmを早期(10月18日), 中期(10月28日), 晩期(11月9日)に散布した.エスレルの着色促進効果は, 濃度は高い方が, 時期は早いほど著しかった.しかし400ppmの早期散布では50%の落果が, 中期散布では20%の落果があった.第3実験では2年間にわたりエスレル400ppm散布区と対照区の早期収量を調べた.散布は初年度は10月30日に, 2年目は11月2日に行なった.2年間ともエスレル散布によって早期収量は著しく増加し, 1月まで残る果実はほとんどなかった.落葉・落果, あるいは樹体への悪影響は認められなかった.第4実験では, 1.無処理, 2.10月18日200ppm散布, 3.10月18日と11月2日の2回200ppm散布, 4.11月2日300ppm散布の4処理の収量を比較した.300ppm散布で早期収量は著しく増加した.しかし200ppm1回と2回散布の間には差はなく, ともに対照区より早期収量は高い傾向にあったものの, 有意差は認められなかった.以上の結果から10月下旬〜11月上旬の300〜400ppmのエスレル散布が落葉・落果をほとんどおこすことなく, キンカンの着色促進, 早期収量増に有効であると思われた.
