本研究は,ニューラルネットワークを利用して,温州ミカンの収穫時期における品質(糖度とクエン酸含量)の値を,それまでの品質および気象の時系列データから予測するモデルを開発した.学習およびモデル検証用のデータは,7年間,8~11月にかけて収集された七つのデータセットであり,各データは4点(8~11月)の時系列からなる.このうち六つを学習用に,一つをモデル検証用に用いた.品質に大きな影響を与える気象要因は降雨量と日照時間であり,とくに降雨量が顕著であった.それで2入力(降雨量と日照時間)-2出力(糖度とクエン酸含量)モデルを構築した.入力(気象要因)と出力(果実の品質)の関係は,非線形特性が強く,また実測データのばらつきが大きいので数式によるモデル化は困難であるが,3層のニューラルネットワークを用いて,入力と出力の現在および過去の時系列データを使用し,最適な学習回数,システムパラメータ数,中間層ニューロン数を選ぶことにより,精度の高いモデルを構築できた.

メキシコ民衆文化としてのサンタ・ムエルテ信仰の特徴は、負のイメージが付与されたテピート地区という社会空間を含む従来の文化資源を流用しつつ、従属階級の信者に対し、特定のアイデンティティを提供し、既存の文化的カテゴリーを揺り動かすような動向を現出させていた。またその表象に関しては、グローバル、ナショナル、ローカルといった諸次元での語りが存在し、非常に流動的な言説によってカテゴライズされているといった特徴が抽出できた。同時にマイノリティ宗教の中にも正統・異端の区別が認識されており、組織化された動向はより社会的制裁と結びついているといった傾向が看取できた。

本論文では,Efros ら(2003) のモーションディスクリプタおよびKe ら(2005) のイベント検出器の組合せに基づく動作検出手法を提案する.両手法の直接の組合せは,AdaBoost の学習アルゴリズムとKe らの弱識別器の特性によって動作検出器の学習の計算時間が増大するという問題がある.よって,本研究ではこの問題を解決するため弱識別器の次元を拡張した改良型組合せ手法を提案する.また,さらなる高速化のため,学習にLook Up Table を導入する.実験では,実際の放送に用いられたテニスの映像に提案手法を適用し各種ストロークの検出を試みた.性能を評価するため,Efrosらの手法,Ke らの手法および直接の組合せ手法も適用し結果を比較した.実験結果より,提案する組合せ手法は認識率および計算時間の両面で元となった手法の良い特性をあわせ持つこと,また改良型組合せ手法は直接の組合せによる検出器とほぼ同じ性能でありながら,LUT との併用により学習に要する計算時間を大幅に削減できることが確認できた.A new, combined human activity detection method is proposed. Our method is based on Efros, et al.'s (2003) motion descriptors and Ke, et al.'s (2005) event detectors. Since both methods use optical flow, it is easy to combine them. However, the computational cost of the training increases considerably because of the increased number of weak classifiers. We reduce this computational cost by extending Ke, et al.'s weak classifiers to incorporate multi-dimensional features. We also introduce a Look Up Table for further high-speed computation. The proposed method is applied to off-air tennis video data, and its performance is evaluated by comparison with the original two methods. Experimental results show that the performance of the proposed method is a good compromise in terms of detection rate and computation time of testing and training.

国立国会図書館では,平成14年6月より「国立国会図書館インターネット資源選択的蓄積実験事業(WARP: Web Archiving Project)」を実施している。Webアーカイビングには,ホール・ドメイン,選択的,納入型,組み合わせ型など,さまざまなアプローチがある。IIPC (International Internet Preservation Consortium),e-Japan重点計画2004,国立国会図書館電子図書館中期計画2004,納本制度審議会などの内外の動向を交えながら,Webアーカイビングの実務と課題について,その概要を報告する。

Nevruz is a spring festival celebrated the world over and particularly in Eastern Muslim countries, including Iran and Turkey. It was for a long time commemorated by Ottoman society as a regular cultural festival, but the practice gradually changed since the late 1980s, when Kurdish nationalist movements arose. To put it briefly, the Nevruz festival, which was a normal cultural festival until then, was now transformed into a battlefield of ethnic self-assertion in Turkey. In this article I intend discussing the practical aspects of Nevruz in contemporary Turkey by utilizing primary sources like daily newspapers, by the observation of the Nevruz practices, and through interviews that I conducted during my field research

A 5-year-old female Chihuahua dog was presented for acute collapse. Laboratory examinations showed markedly elevated levels of hepatobiliary enzymes. Empiric antibiotic therapy for bacterial infection of the liver was ineffective. The clinical signs worsened with the development of hyponatremia with hypo-osmolality and elevated urine sodium levels. The dog was suspected to have acute cholangiohepatitis associated with an immune-mediated disease. Subsequently, it was diagnosed with syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion (SIADH) on the basis of the specific disease criteria. Further tests showed normal function of the adrenal and thyroid glands, and MRI and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) analysis did not show any intracranial diseases. Immunosuppressive therapy and water restriction resolved the clinical signs and improved the SIADH in this dog. This case indicates that SIADH can occur concurrently with suspected immune-mediated liver disease in dogs.

An 8-year old intact female dog was presented with a sudden onset of unilateral hindlimb paralysis of 3 days duration. Based on the history and results of physical, neurological, histopathological examination, and blood work, an arterial thrombosis was suspected as a complication of the hypercoagulability from malignant mammary gland tumor. The thermography provided the evidence of the unilateral femoral thrombus. Initially, thrombolysis with streptokinase administered by intravenous infusion was ineffective. Thereafter, the direct delivery of streptokinase to the site of thrombus was attempted and it was curative. These results suggest that the thermography could describe the site of the arterial thrombus, and local intra-arterial administration of streptokinase may be an effective therapy for the canine arterial thrombosis complicated by malignant mammary gland tumor.

A 7-year-old, 1.76 kg Maltese dog presented with a 4-year history of a chronic pustular lesion and a wet cough. Erosive lesions were seen at the left thoracic wall. Radiology and computed tomography (CT) revealed a bronchocutaneous fistula connecting from the left cranial bronchus to the skin. On definitive surgery, a long wooden toothpick was observed within this tract, and clinical signs resolved after retrieval of the foreign body. Three-dimensional CT was useful to identify the characteristics of the bronchocutaneous fistula However, the wooden foreign body was not apparent on CT. Here, we report the clinical, clinicopathological and diagnostic imaging findings of a chronic bronchocutaneous fistula caused by a foreign body in a dog.

In this study, the antipruritic effect of the methanol extract of Ganoderma lucidum (MEGL) was studied in mice. Oral administration of MEGL (10—1000 mg/kg) produced a dose-dependent inhibition of scratching, an itch-related response, induced by intradermal 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) (100 nmol/site), α-methyl-5-HT (100 nmol/site), and proteinase-activated receptor-2 (PAR2)-activating peptide SLIGRL-NH2 (50 nmol/site). However, MEGL (100—1000 mg/kg) did not inhibit the scratching induced by histamine (100 nmol/site), substance P (100 nmol/site), and compound 48/80 (10 μg/site). These results raise the possibility that MEGL is effective against pruritus mediated by proteinases and 5-HT and that primary afferents expressing PAR2 and 5-HT2A receptors are the sites of its action.

We have already reported that the D-Fraction, a β-glucan extracted from the fruiting body of the maitake mushroom (Grifola frondosa), activates cellular immunity and expresses anti-tumor effects. In this study we investigated the anti-tumor functions of D-Fraction in relation to its control of the balance between T lymphocyte subsets Th-1 and Th-2. D-Fraction decreased the activation of B cells and potentiated the activation of helper T cells, resulting in enhanced cellular immunity. It also induced the production of interferon (IFN)-γ, interleukin (IL)-12 p70, and IL-18 by whole spleen cells and lymph node cells, but suppressed that of IL-4. These results suggest that D-Fraction establishes Th-1 dominance which induces cellular immunity in the population that was Th-2 dominant due to carcinoma.

地域活性化は不確実性を伴うオープンイノベーションの土俵で如何に地域価値を活かすのかという議論が中心である。地域自身の扱いが、行政区画でなく、本来の文化・生活・産業的な範疇とすることが今日では自然の認識であり、そこに存在する産業構造と地域価値創出の人間力が注目される。そこでは、地域活性化に関してP2MV2コンセプトは大いに参考になる。地域価値を創出するにはプロデューサ(いわゆるプロジェクトのオーナー)とコーディネータ(いわゆるプロジェクトマネージャ)の存在は当然として、実は多様化、オープン化時代には、ある種の業務遂行能力を備えたブリッジパーソン(いわゆくプログラムマネージャ)の存在が不可欠になることを本論文は提唱する。そして、具体的事例として、広島県世羅町の6次産業、浜松市佐久間の廃墟トンネルワインセラーなどを示して、ブリッジパーソンの存在意義を考察する。
