コンクリート構造物の景観を良くするための方策として表面のはつり仕上げや洗い出し仕上げがある.一方,構造物の耐久性も重要な要求性能である.したがって,海岸構造物など塩害が心配される場所で表面仕上げを適用するためには,はつりや洗い出しと耐久性との関係を知っておく必要がある.しかし,はつりや洗い出しが耐久性に及ぼす影響は明らかにされていない.そこで本研究では,はつりや洗い出しが塩化物イオンの浸透深さに及ぼす影響を実験的に検討した.実験結果から,はつりや洗い出しによって塩化物イオンの浸透抵抗性が小さくなることは無いことが分かった.これは,コンクリート表面近傍において塩化物イオンが浸透する媒体となるセメントペースト量が少なくなるためであると考えられる.

最初に,平成30年の著作権法改正により新たに設けられた「柔軟な権利制限規定」について概説する。その上で,国立国会図書館が取り組んでいる当該規定に関連するものとして,デジタル化資料(画像)のテキスト化事業及びそのテキストデータを活用した本文検索サービス,並びにデジタル化資料の閲覧・検索機能の利便性向上のためのAI(機械学習)を用いたサービス開発について,平成30年の著作権法改正による影響を考察しつつ紹介する。

Socialism involves a challenge to existing society. For a movement to take root, however, it must accommodate itself to its environment, and for the socialist movement this inevitably raises a dilemma. This dilemma was most obvious in the case of socialism in Great Britain, where traditional institutions and values had survived to a remarkable degree the impact of industrialisation.The mid-1880's witnessed the so-called ‘Socialist Revival’. The word socialism, as under-stood at that time, held heavy overtones of state interventionism. This latter was basically a Radical formula for political adaptation to changing conditions. Socialism, in the narrow sense of the term, emerged from within this Radical climate, and early socialist bodies had to make considerable efforts to give themselves an identity separate from Radicalism, which in fact attracted the support of a large section of the politically active working class.In the previous decades, the working class had established its own distinctive way of life, and was keenly aware of its existence as a class. Politically, however, it was a ‘tail of the great Liberal party’. Here again, therefore, the early socialists had to face strong resistance to their proselytising activities.Following the first two chapters analysing the milieu from which British socialism was born, the next chapters describe the controversy over socialist goals and tactics among such socialist groups as the Social Democratic Federation, the Socialist League, the Fabian Society, and conclude with the foundation of the Independent Labour Party.The author, apart from his research experience in Britain, has relied almost exclusively on already published materials, and has tried to give a general picture of Great Britain in the last decades of the 19th century, with the growth of Socialism as the focal point.

27歳,男性.心肺停止蘇生後に入院した.経過中に38℃台の発熱があり,その際の心電図でV1-2誘導に典型的なcoved型ST上昇を認め,Brugada症候群と診断した.Brugada症候群はJ波症候群に含まれるが,J波は日内変動や日差変動,体温に伴う変動等を認め,Brugada型心電図は,時に発熱で顕著になる.入院時に有意な心電図変化を認めていなくても,心肺停止蘇生例では心電図記録を繰り返し行うことが重要である.

The capacity of slightly acidic hypochlorous acid water (SAHW), in both liquid and spray form, to inactivate bacteria was evaluated as a potential candidate for biosecurity enhancement in poultry production. SAHW (containing 50 or 100 ppm chlorine, pH 6) was able to inactivate Escherichia coli and Salmonella Infantis in liquid to below detectable levels (≤2.6 log10 CFU/ml) within 5 sec of exposure. In addition, SAHW antibacterial capacity was evaluated by spraying it using a nebulizer into a box containing these bacteria, which were present on the surfaces of glass plates and rayon sheets. SAHW was able to inactivate both bacterial species on the glass plates (dry condition) and rayon sheets within 5 min spraying and 5 min contact times, with the exception of 50 ppm SAHW on the rayon sheets. Furthermore, a corrosivity test determined that SAHW does not corrode metallic objects, even at the longest exposure times (83 days). Our findings demonstrate that SAHW is a good candidate for biosecurity enhancement in the poultry industry. Spraying it on the surfaces of objects, eggshells, egg incubators and transport cages could reduce the chances of contamination and disease transmission. These results augment previous findings demonstrating the competence of SAHW as an anti-viral disinfectant.

Anomalous coldness was observed over midlatitude Eurasia in December 2020 and over subpolar Eurasia in January 2021. The former was accompanied by the Warm Arctic and Cold Eurasia (WACE) pattern, while the latter by the negative phase of the Arctic Oscillation (AO). A set of large ensemble experiments with an atmospheric general circulation model suggests a contribution of reduced Arctic Sea ice to the midlatitude cooling and WACE pattern in December 2020. The tropical and extratropical sea surface temperature (SST) anomalies, however, contribute to warming over midlatitude Eurasia. In January 2021, neither the sea ice nor SST anomalies can explain the subpolar Eurasian cooling and the negative AO in our experiments.

Various types of the distal myopathy except Welander's late distal myopathy of Swedish type were described. There were many reports in the past concerning the varieties of the distal myopathy. Distal myopathy is a rather rare disorder and it may be difficult to diagnose these cases. Among these various distal myopathy, an emphasis was made upon the clinical and pathological characteristics of the diseases, particularly distal muscular dystrophy of Miyoshi, Distal myopathy with rimmed vacuolear formation of Nonaka and ours, and Oculopharyngo-distal myopathy. All these diseases show the distal muscle involvement but the clinical features, heredity, course and pathological features are quite different, and prognosis is also different. Accordingly when we examined these distal myopathy cases, clinical characteristics and histo-pathological findings should be carefully studied. It shoud be also emphasized that the level of serum CPK dose not indicate the severity of the myopathy. In muscluar dystrophy or myositis, serem CPK elevates remarkably and we can consider the level of CPK as a sign of the severity or condition of the disease. However, in myopathy as “rimmed vacuolar distal myopathy” serem CPK remains in normal level even though weakness is severe. This is due to absence of the membrane abnormalities of muscle cells. Leakage of the CPK from muscle cells, therefore, does not reflect the degree of the cell destruction. In this point we have to remember the fact that serum CPK is not a indicator of all muscle diseases and even if the CPK is normal, we have to consider the presence of myopathy.

As one field of sports, there is a game of bike trial. Riders operate mountain bicycles with various advanced techniques. The purpose of this research is to create a bike trial robot that can operate a mountain bicycle and perform various maneuvers such as jumping, bike wheelie and etc. The bike-trial robot is able to clear level differences and ditches which other wheeled type robots cannot clear such obstacles and also cannot intrude into narrow spaces. Therefore, it is possible to use the bike-trial robot in the means of mobility at disaster sites. In this paper, in order to control the robot, it is studied how to generate the joint trajectories for maneuvers, for example, Daniel or Wheelie. The prototype physical model of bike-trial robot for experiments is designed and constructed on a scale of two to five.

Simple mathematical models of optimal copulation time, postocopulatory guarding, and precopulatory guarding of males, where the concept of an evolutionarily stable strategy (ESS) is used, are reviewed. The method by which these kinds of game theoretic problems can be solved is demonstrated, and parametic dependency of the optimal strategy is examiled. Actual observational and experimental examples are discussed in the light of predictions of the models.

Fungi in the genus Termitomyces are external symbionts of fungus-growing termites. The three rhizogenic Termitomyces species T. eurrhizus, T. clypeatus, and T. intermedius, and one species similar to T. microcarpus that lacks pseudorrhiza, have been reported from Ryukyu Archipelago, Japan. In contrast, only two genetic groups (types A and B) of Termitomyces vegetative mycelia have been detected in nests of the fungus-growing termite Odontotermes formosanus. In this study, we investigated the relationships between the mycelial genetic groups and the basidiomata of Termitomyces samples from the Ryukyu Archipelago. We found that all the basidioma specimens and the type B mycelia formed one clade that we identified as T. intermedius. Another clade consisted of the type A mycelia, which showed similarity to T. microcarpus, was identified as T. fragilis. Our results indicate that the Japanese T. eurrhizus and T. clypeatus specimens should re-named as T. intermedius.

本稿では,まず,リーダビリティー研究が始まった背景とその定義について紹介し,次に,リーダビリティーを測定するツールの使い方と内容を説明した。さらに,リーダビリティー研究成果の国内外における応用例を挙げ,日本語教育においては日本語能力試験を土台にしたリーダビリティー研究の可能性があることを論じた。同時に,リーダビリティー研究はテキスト要因のみを対象とするものであり,守備範囲には限界があることも加えた。最後に,今後の可能性として,新たなリーダビリティー判定式の構築よりも,社会的応用に着目すべきであることを述べた。
