蚊は,日本から100種余り記録されているが,衛生上重要な種は限られている.主な媒介蚊であるアカイエカは下水溝よどみ,雨水ますなど,チカイエカは地下の湧水槽など,コガタイエカとシナハマダラカは水田,湿地,ヒトスジシマカは放置タイヤ,花立,竹筒,空缶などから発生する.蚊に刺されて痒いのは即時型のアレルギー反応である.雌成虫は通常1ヶ月ほど生き,一生に3〜4回吸血して産卵するが,再吸血時にマラリア,フィラリア症,西ナイル熱,日本脳炎,デング熱,黄熱などの感染症を媒介する.これら感染症はいずれも日本でも流行することが危惧され,その早急なる対応が望まれる.蚊の感染症対策は,対象種が発生しないように発生源対策をするのが効果的で,また,国外から持ち込まないようにし,蚊に刺されないようにすることである.

An Australian kindergarten director visited a Yochien (kindergarten) in Nagoya ten years ago. At that time she brought one music tape as a souvenir (fig.1). The content is sixteen songs, whose titles are the names of Australian indigenous animals and birds'. kangaroo, wombat, possum, emu, koala, and so on. In this paper, we have invented the English educational materials. At first we pick out 'koala' and 'wombat' from the tape, and make music scores only using the original music songs, and finally create the finger rhymes. The unique educational materials are designed to develop the English ability for kindergartners and primary schoolchildren.

本研究は,過疎地域において人々がスギ・ヒノキなどの人工林を適切に間伐する行為に着目し,過疎地域の自治体に人工林を所有する在村者と不在村者それぞれの人工林の管理行動を規定する要因を明らかにすることを目的とする。本研究は,人工林管理行動のうち,特に人工林を管理しない人々の行動に着目し,その規定因を明らかにした。鳥取県日南町の在村者,不在村者から得たデータを用い,それぞれに対し回帰分析を行った。分析の結果,第一に,「人工林面積」および「森林の場所に対する認知」,第二に,在村者の「登記」,第三に,不在村者の「教育歴」 ,「地元地域との交流」,「森林との距離」が人工林非管理行動に影響を与えている可能性を明らかにした。本研究により,人工林非管理行動に対する経済的要因と場所への認知に対する要因の重要性を確認すると共に,在村者と不在村者では異なる要因が同行動に対し影響を与える可能性を確認した。過疎自治体や森林組合は,一方では,在村者,不在村者双方に対して同一の要因からなる施策を講じ,他方で,在村者,不在村者それぞれに応じた施策を行うことによって,人々の森林管理に影響を与える可能性を示唆する。

This study begins with the following questions. Why should athletes keep rules of sport? What occurs in sport when cheaters break the rules?In relation to these questions, which explore basis or foundation of the rules, there are some precedent theories. Those are 1) rule absolutism or game formalism, 2) contextual contractualism, 3) externalism. Through my research on 1) and 2), a very important issue, namely, the ethos of the game rose. That is, an internal purpose of the game achieved as a result of realization of the game, and at the same time the basis of the rules. Furthermore, with regard to 3), it is not able to point out the basis of the rules because of denying the existence of this ethos: “internal purpose of sport”.All things considered, the ethos of game is to make a decision of victory or defeat. Therefore, a norm “Keep rules” itself is not always an absolute command, a categorical imperative, but a relative one, a hypothetical imperative. Consequently, all cheating, rule breaking, doesn't act on the game destructively. The rules of sport is fundamentally restricted by the ethos of sport under all circumstances. In other words, only this ethos: “the spirit of the sport”, forms the basis or foundation of the rules of sport.

マス・メディアは直訳すれば、「人々(大衆)を媒介するもの」である。実際、新聞は、新聞記事を通して人々を媒介し、その新聞の読者という集団を生み出し、他のメディアもそれぞれの視聴者、聴取者といったものを生み出してきた。インターネットの普及は、この状況に大きな衝撃を与えた。新聞記事もテレビ番組も、インターネットで見えるようになってしまい、今や人々は自らの好き嫌いによってコンテンツに接するようになり、メディアの区分けに拘束されなくなった。もはや従来のメディア概念で社会を分析するのは困難である。本研究はメディアを技術別ではなく、社会的媒介の広がりとして定義し直すことを目指し、3つの実証研究を行なった。

Background: Depression in elderly people is a major global concern around the world. Epidemiological evidence of the association of beverages with depressive symptoms has received research attention; however, epidemiological studies on the association of coffee and green tea with depressive symptoms for the elderly population are limited. The objective of this study is to cross-sectionally examine the association of depressive symptoms with the intake of coffee, green tea and caffeine and to verify the antidepressant effect of caffeine.Methods: The subjects were 1992 women aged 65–94 years. Intakes of coffee, green tea and caffeine as well as depressive symptoms were assessed with a validated brief dietary history questionnaire (BDHQ) and the Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (CES-D), respectively. Multiple logistic regression analysis was used to calculate odds ratios (OR) and 95% confidence intervals (CI) for depressive symptoms with adjustments for potential confounders.Results: Coffee intake was associated with a lower prevalence of depressive symptoms, the ORs of which for the 4th vs. the 1st quartiles of intake was 0.64 (95% CI 0.46-0.88, P for trend = 0.01) in a fully adjusted model. Caffeine intake was marginally associated with depressive symptoms, but the association was not statistically significant (OR = 0.75; 95% CI 0.55–1.02, P for trend = 0.058).Conclusion: The result suggests that the inverse association on depressive symptoms might be expected not only caffeine intake but also some other substances in coffee or factors related to coffee intake. Because of its cross-sectional design, longitudinal studies are required to confirm the present finding.

複素数の複素数ともいうべき四元数(quaternion)は一つの実数と三つの虚数部分を持つ多元数体系の一つである.三次元空間でのその回転演算記述性の良さによりコンピュータグラフィックスやロボティクスなどへの応用が近年では試みられ,その実際的応用が様々な分野に広まりつつある.本稿では,四元数を導入したニューラルネットワークを概説し,三次元アフィン変換やカラー画像の圧縮復元を例にその幾何学変換処理能力を実数値ニューラルネットワークと比較して,複素数も'びっくり'の性能威力を紹介する.

A clay mineral, greensand, was used as an ion exchanger for the collection of cesium or the removal of radioactive cesium in sea water. Cesium was quantitatively absorbed on a greensand column from volumes of sea water up to 350 times the volume of the column, when sea water was passed through at a specific velocity of about 7. By the use of the solution of 12% acetic acid and 12% ammonium acetate as elluant, 82% of cesium absorbed on the column was recovered in the effluent.

本研究では,Block & Kremen(1996)が作成したエゴ・レジリエンス尺度(ER89)の日本語版を作成し,その信頼性,妥当性の検討を行った。研究1では,ER89日本語版尺度を作成し,大学生520名に質問紙調査を実施した。主成分分析の結果,原版と同じ14項目1成分解が得られ,十分に高い内的整合性(α=.82)が確認された。研究2では,ER89日本語版尺度の妥当性の検討を行った。大学生261名(サンプル1)と大学生240名(サンプル2)に質問紙調査を実施し,他の概念(レジリエンス,精神的健康度)との関連から本尺度の併存的妥当性および構成概念妥当性が確認された。以上により,ER89の日本語版の信頼性と妥当性が明らかにされた。

1960年代後半から80年代にかけて、現代フランス哲学思想に到来したスピノザ・ルネッサンスの源流を、フランス・エピステモロジーの系譜上に位置づけた。カヴァイエスからカンギレムへと続くエピステモロジーの系譜上に、アルチュセールととラカンの強い影響下にあった60年代後半のエピステモロジー・サークルがある。彼らの『分析手帖』は構造主義を背景に科学・主体・生命に関する理論的問題の分析を展開したが、これを活気づけていたのがカヴァイエスの「概念の哲学」という理念であり、この理念がスピノザ主義の名のもとに当時のアルチュセール派やラカン派を様々な仕方で活気づけていたことが明らかとなった。
