The purpose of this study is to know differences between steady and unsteady drag coefficients of a sphere. Though we often have to estimate unsteady drag-forces acting on a moving obstacle, we are obliged to use the well-known steady drag coefficient for the first estimation because of lack of information about effects of unsteadiness on the drag coefficient. The usual way to take account of unsteadiness is an added mass. However, its application is restricted within the simple shape of an obstacle. We propose a way based on the equation of motion to obtain the unsteady drag coefficient. To confirm validity of the way, we measured and analyzed the motion of the falling sphere in water by using a high-speed camera and a motion capture method. The drag coefficients as a function of time were obtained by substituting measured values of velocity and acceleration into the equation of motion. The drag coefficient was 0.52 when the sphere attains the terminal velocity, being quite large at the beginning of motion. Comparing with the values obtained by the other previous studies, our result is reasonable.

Sawara is a mercantile historic city at watery environment along the Tone River, which had been flourished from Edo era to the middle of Showa Era. Some parts of it have been designated as cultural property, namely a preservation district for a group of historic buildings. Through minute interviews of local people, the memory-evoking framework of Sawara is clarified. It consists of four conditions, 1) disappearance, 2) surviving figure, 3) inherited use, and 4) correspondence of memory and historicity. The memory-evoking framework and the system of historic value are very similar to but different each other. The local community can imagine how the life was in their habitat just by touching their surroundings. Not just the historic environment that is already put in the formal preservation system, but also the fabrics with collective memories of local people are important to succeed the meaning of its lived environment.

Many features of organisms have the possibility that can be applied to the infrastructure and network system for the communication. From the previous studies, the network system of the venation is known as the strong network on the damage. This relates the structure of leaf vein. In this study, we are focusing on the network of leaf vein to understand the strong network system. First, we study the network structure to know the relation between damage on leaf and the strong network. Then, the influence of damage on leaf vein for the water absorption on the leaf was studied with the dye flow visualization. The result shows that the network type of vein on real leaf is the mesh type network. The mesh type network has the benefit to make a bypath when the vein has the damage. The result of dye flow visualization shows that the real leaf requires the single vein to make a bypath for damage region. The increasing of area on water absorbed relates the distance of water absorption. This means that number of vein is not dominant for the speed of water absorption. Therefore, the network of leaf vein has a high robustness from the damage of vein by the mesh type network.

英国 Calder Hall型動力用原子炉はその構造に耐震的考慮が払われていないために、我が国に設置し、使用する場合には、なるべく内部構造を変えずに耐震的にすることが望ましい。この研究は、この動力用原子炉の炉心部Graphite pileの耐震構造として、鉄籠で補強する計画に基き、主として実験的に行われたものである。実験にはGraphiteの部分を石膏模型で造り、補強用の籠として鋼及びアルミニュームのものを用いた(第1図及び写真-1,2)。静的と動的の二様の加力方法によつて各々の場合の補強籠各部材に起る応力及び全体の変形を実測して比較検討した。一方これと平行して実物の設計用計算式を検討する目的で、圧縮側及び引張側のブレイシングの効き方を実験的に研究した。試験結果としては、静的加力時に比して動的加力時の斜材応力は何れも小さく、応力、変位共簡単な従来の静的な計算方法により近似値を得ることができる。又数日間に捗る振動実験にも拘らず石膏の損傷は殆んど見られず、ほぼ初期の状態を保つた。ブレイシングの効き方については、圧縮側の部材は引張側の約半分の荷重を負担し得ることが分つた。これらのことから総合的に考えれば、一応補強計画はさ程困難とは思われない。

近年のにきび用化粧品は,毛包漏斗部を閉塞するような成分を除きpHを弱酸性にするなど,処方面での工夫がなされており,にきび患者が使用試験して問題となることは少ない。反面,化粧品の使い方(スキンケア)については,人によって方法が異なるのが現状である。そこで,〓瘡患者を対象として,化粧品の使用実態調査を行った結果,〓瘡患者は健常者に比べ,洗顔回数や洗顔料の使用量が多いことなどが明らかとなり,〓瘡の予防や改善のためには,化粧指導とスキンケアが重要であることがわかった。今回われわれは,女性〓瘡患者31名を対象として,皮膚科専門医による化粧指導とともにスキンケア製品を2カ月間使用し,皮膚生理機能および患者のQOLを調べた。その結果,皮膚の生理機能や患者のQOLの改善が確認され,皮膚科医によるスキンケア指導は,〓瘡患者の治療補助として役立つことが確認できた。

Oyaguchi Watersupply Tower, which was established by Aratama Municipal Union for Watersupply, has been known as one of the unique landmarks in the northwest area in Tokyo, but the Watersupply Bureau of Tokyo Metrpolitan Government decided to renew the structure according to their new plan for watersupply in case of emergency. This tower was planned by Eiji Nakajima, Dr.Eng., and designed by his successors after changes in two times. Its design consists of unified body of water tank and tower, and it was constructed by applying quasi-arc welding method, which was cutting-edge technology at that time. It was proved also that its form and details have an architectural style called Romanesque to make itself look.unique.

東京圏における鉄道ネットワークは輸送力増強が講じられ、最混雑率は年々低下傾向にある。一方で、夜間・ピークサイドにおける混雑が顕在化し、第2フェーズの混雑対策が求められているが、改善の検討が今後ますます重要になってくる。しかしながら、大都市交通センサス等の既存の交通統計調査は、過去のデータの蓄積が豊富で交通流動量といった量的データが充実しているものの、抽出率が5%程度と低く、夜間・ピークサイドにおける混雑緩和の検討に使用するにはデータの精度が粗いため、詳細な分析は困難である。そこで本研究では、自動改札機・車両応荷重データを用いた時間帯別混雑率の推定方法の検討を行った。

2002年ホームレス自立支援法が成立した。自治体に実施計画が義務づけられるなか、東京都では自立構築システムのもとで緊急一時保護センターや自立支援センターなどが設けられた。センターの立地やデザイン、内容についてはまだお問題はあるし、ここまでの施策は就労を前提としていることがしばしば指摘されてきた。しかし民間借り上げ住宅も検討され、多様な選択肢が用意され初めている。新宿区では NPOや自治体のみならず地域住民や路上生活者自身が加わる検討協議会も立ち上げられた。事態は進展しつつある。今後は、予防まで含めた総合的な取り組みを進めること、路上生活者自身の主体的な取り組みの支援、居住の権利に基づきながら問題を政治化していくことが必要だ。

In an effort to promote self-medication in Japan, drugs switched from prescription to over-the-counter (OTC) have received a lot of attention. We conducted a survey of community pharmacists to investigate views on Rx (Prescription) -to-OTC switched drugs, aiming at the enhancement of self-medication and proposals to the Regulatory Authorities. A total of 336 respondents completed the survey. About two-thirds of respondents (65.2%) regarded the expansion of Rx-to-OTC drugs as necessary. The percentage of pharmacists who responded that Rx-to-OTC expansion was necessary at pharmacies for prescription and OTC drugs (73.2%) was significantly higher than those at pharmacies for prescription drugs (51.2%) (P < 0.001). The most common reason for Rx-to-OTC expansion being necessary was “it has a certain level of effect on reducing healthcare costs”. On the other hand, the most common reason against Rx-to-OTC expansion was “it causes safety issues for consumers”. The number of candidates for Rx-to-OTC recommended by pharmacists in favor of Rx-to-OTC expansion was 43 with 14 therapeutic areas excluding 5 drugs accepted as Rx-to-OTC switched drugs by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. Six out of 43 candidate drugs are considered to meet the requirements for Rx-to-OTC drugs. We revealed some differences in pharmacists' views on Rx-to-OTC switched drugs depending on the pharmacy category. To promote self-medication, constructing a mechanism to collect opinions of community pharmacists providing OTC drugs is required. Further research in other areas and pharmacies of different categories to confirm generalizability should be done for making a proposal to the Regulatory Authorities.

&nbsp;This research focuses on the &ldquo;historical routes policy&rdquo; by the Cultural Affairs Agency in Japan. This paper aims to clarify 1) its philosophy, 2) the policy's influences on local areas and 3) this policy's difficulties.<br>&nbsp;The results are as follows;<br>&nbsp;1) The policy aims both conservation of the routes in the regional scale and walkable environment.<br>&nbsp;2) Not only the historical routes but also the heritage along the routes were listed and conserved.<br>&nbsp;3) Changes of the framework and the character of the historical routes made this policy difficult to succeed.

【症例】34歳,男性。【病歴と経過】化学工場で深さ2 mの35%塩酸タンクに転落し,約10分間全身が塩酸に浸り,転落から10分後(転落の目撃者なく最長予測時間)に発見され,約18分後に当院に搬送された。来院時,意識清明で発語も認めたが,顔面・頭部を含む全身熱傷のため気管挿管した。動脈血液ガス検査で,pH 6.76,PaCO2 26.3 mmHg,PaO2 268 mmHg,BE -27.8 mmol/l,乳酸値124 mg/dl,P50 98 mmHgと高度な代謝性アシドーシス,高乳酸血症,P50の上昇を認めた。重炭酸ナトリウム250 mlを投与したところ,PaO2 492 mmHg,P50 34 mmHgと一時的な改善を認めたが,多臓器不全が進行し2日目に死亡した。【結語】塩酸が皮膚から大量に吸収され,高度な代謝性アシドーシスとP50の上昇を合併した症例を経験した。症状の進行が急速かつ重篤であり,救命には至らなかった。文献上同様な報告は見当たらなかった。

中近世の日本の誓約の文書は「起請文」と呼ばれた。それは、まず約束の内容を書き、そのあとに「もしウソをついたら、神仏の罰をうける」と書く。これまでその最初の史料とされていたのは、1148年の奈良・東大寺に残る文書だったが、2007年に琵琶湖北岸の塩津港遺跡から出土した木簡は1137年の年号があり、千々和が以前に「勧請型起請文」と名付け、中世初期からの存在を指摘した形式のものだった。これは、まず神仏をこの場に招き(これを勧請という)、そのあとに約束をし、それから「もしウソをついたら、神仏の罰をうける」というものである。本研究は、この新資料を起請文の歴史に位置づけ、その歴史を書き直すものとなった。

音声言語表出面に著しい障害をもつ言語発達障害の1事例に対し、voice output communication aids(以下、VOCAと略す)を使用した喫茶店での注文場面の指導と、家庭へのVOCAの貸し出しを行い、コミュニケーション行動および音声言語表出行動における変化を観察した。その結果、対象児のコミュニケーションスキルが拡大するとともに、非音声型のコミュニケーションモード(指さし・サイン・シンボル)から音声型のコミュニケーションモードへと変換がなされ、音声言語表出が可能となった。それまで、学校や施設などで先行・並行して行われていたコミュニケーション指導に加えて、VOCAを使用した伝達場面設定型の指導によって、コミュニケーション行動の拡大と音声言語表出が獲得されたことから、本研究での対象児のような事例に対しては、VOCAを使用した実用的なコミュニケーション指導が有効であることが示唆された。

The typhoon often causes a serious damage of the apple before harvest. Many apples fall from trees by the strong wind. These apples are bagged to protect them from insects and control sun light for the apples coloring while they are ripening on the tree. We conceive that the wind-force acting on the bagging apple exceeds one without bag. Thus, we investigate the drag coefficient CD of the bagging apple by measuring drag force acting on an apple model experimentally. The shear stress on a stem under the typhoon is estimated for understanding one of mechanism for dropping apple due to the strong wind. The shear stress of a stem whose apple encounters the maximum velocity recorded at the past typhoon is estimated by the obtained CD. The drag force of the bagging apple becomes bigger than that of the apple without the bag. The bagging apple is not a rotational symmetry so that the CD is different with the different wind direction. The angle against the flow of model with the bag is changed from 0 deg. to 90 deg. to understand the influence of shape, since CD depends on the geometry. The shear force acting on the stem depends on the drag. Thus, the shear stress is larger if the drag is larger. The obtained shear stress is compared with allowable shear stress of a real tree. We suggest that there is possibility to decrease damage if we can decrease the drag of the bagging.

本国際共同研究の目的は、国内武力紛争(内戦)下の反政府武装勢力(反乱軍)による市民経済の管理・統制のメカニズムとその影響を理論的、実証的に明らかにすることにある。本研究では、反乱軍経済やその影響について、定量的な分析を可能にするデータセットの構築と現地調査を含む事例研究を通して考察する。内戦下の反乱軍は、なぜ、またどのように市民経済に関与するのか、またそうした経済政策や市民経済との関係は紛争の動態や市民の意識や政治社会行動にいかなる影響を及ぼすのかという問いに多角的にアプローチすることで、反乱軍経済だけでなくその領域統治メカニズムの解明に貢献することを目指す。

We report the extraction of a mandibular third molar with six roots. The patient was a woman in her twenties. She was referred to our hospital with the chief complaint of gingival swelling of the right mandibular third molar region. Impacted teeth with many roots were found by dental X-ray imaging. We diagnosed pericoronitis and extraction was performed under local anesthesia. Extraction was easy, and no fracture was observed in any of the roots. There were no postoperative complications. As seen by CT, the extracted teeth revealed 7 cusps and 6 roots with 5 root canals.

カナダのケベックブレインバンクおよび国内の福島医科大学ブレインバンクより供与を受けた、双極性障害患者および対照群死後脳由来視床ブロックより作成した脳切片の解析を進めた。抗カルレチニン抗体染色を用いて視床室傍核を同定し、抗COX(チトクロームc酸化酵素)抗体および抗SDH(クエン酸脱水素酵素)抗体を用いた二重染色により、ミトコンドリアDNA由来蛋白質が減少している細胞を同定した。その結果、試料のpHが高い場合には検討が可能であったが、試料のpH低下に伴ってCOX陰性細胞が増加することが示唆された。そこで、抗8-OHdG抗体を用いて、酸化ストレスについても検討を行うこととし、染色を行った。8-OHdG様免疫反応性は細胞質に局在し、主にミトコンドリアDNAの酸化を反映していると考えられた。染色の結果、患者の視床室傍核において見出されたCOX陰性細胞は8-OHdG強陽性である一方、試料pHの低下に伴って見られるCOX陰性細胞は8-OHdG陰性または弱陽性であった。COX陰性・8-OHdG陽性細胞が、ミトコンドリア機能障害を反映する可能性が考えられた。また、視床室傍核特異的にCreを発現するトランスジェニックマウスの作成を進めた。また、mtDNA変異蓄積によって神経細胞の形態がどのように変化するかについて調べるため、ミトコンドリア移行シグナルを持つ制限酵素を発現させ、これを発現させることによりmtDNA欠失が生成されることを確認した。
