テキストデータを圧縮したままパターン照合を行う「圧縮テキスト上でのパターン照合」が新しい研究課題として脚光を浴びるようになった.本稿では,この課題に関する最新の研究成果について,理論と実用の両面から解説する.

The self-commutated Static Var Compensator (STATCOM) is expected as one of the most effective tools to enhance power system stability and has been applied world-widely in recent years. Since the first prototype of STATCOM was developed in Japan in 1980, continual efforts by utilities and manufactures drove the development forward to the practical application of STATCOM, resulting in the world-first application of 80MVA STATCOM using GTO thyristors in 1991, followed by the 80MVA STATCOM using GCT thyristors in 2003. Since then, the application of STATCOM has been extended to not only power utility systems but also industrial systems. This paper describes historical development events and engineer's efforts to develop the STATCOM, including some episodes.

今回我々は、細胞膜エストロゲン受容体であるGPR30の喘息病態への関与を検討した。喘息マウスを用いた研究では、GRP30アゴニストであるG-1投与によって、アレルギー性の気道炎症や気道抵抗の抑制が認められた。この現象は、IL-10ノックアウトマウスでみられず、GPR30がIL-10を介して喘息病態に関与することが示唆された。一方でヒト好酸球を用いた研究においては、G-1投与によって、IL-5非存在下では、好酸球の生存延長、IL-5存在下では、生存抑制的に作用した。今後さらなる検討の余地を残してはいるが、GPR30が喘息病態において機能的な役割を果たす可能性が本研究によって示唆された。

1.こうじ菌の生産する抗菌性物質“Yeastcidin”は, Aspergillus oryzaeのある種の菌株をこうじ汁に静置培養した時のみ生産する清酒酵母以外の醸造酵母の増殖を抑制する抗菌性物質である。2.合成培地や市販糖化酵素剤による蒸米の糖化液にこのこうじ菌を培養しても“Yeastcidin”は生産されない。3.本物質“Yeastcidin”を生産させるためのこうじ汁に用いるこうじ米の精米歩合, 製きく時間, こうじ汁濃度等に差異をもうけても生産量に影響はない。4.こうじ汁のpHは5.0~6.5の間が最も抗菌力を強く示し, 通常のこうじ汁ではpH調整の必要はなかった。5.培養温度については27~30℃の間が最も強く生産し, 培養日数は15~20日間を要した。

Both a ringed copper plate electrode and a carbon rod electrode were arranged in a Petri dish filled with the electrolyte solutions : 0.2M H_2SO_4, 0.2M Fe^<3+>+0.2M Fe^<2+>+0.2M H_2SO_4 and 0.2M Fe(CN)_6^<3->+0.2M Fe(CN)_6^<4->+0.2M H_2SO_4 aqueous solutions (1M=1 mol dm^<-3>). The Petri dish was placed on a permanent magnet. The geometrical arrangement is shown in Fig. 1. The vortex motion of the electrolyte solutions originated from the Lorentz's force was clearly observed as soon as the constant-current electrolysis was started. The magnitude of the vortex motion was estimated by the rotation rate (R) defined as the equation (2). The larger the electrolytic current was, the higher the rate became. The rate was in the order of Fe(CN)_6^<3->/Fe(CN)_6^<4->>Fe^<3+>/Fe^<2+>>H_2SO_4 systems and the order was probably due to the valence of the ionic species. In addition, the equation of motion was analyzed for the Fe^<2+> ion using a simplified model. The experiment was demonstrated in front of college students as estimators.

本稿では,任意の歌集間から類似歌を抽出することで,ある歌集の成立年代の推定へとつながった事例を報告する.これまで鎌倉時代中期の成立ではないかと考えられていた『為忠集』と,平安最末期以降の私家集(個人歌集)との間で,網羅的に類似歌の抽出を行ったところ,室町時代に成立した,正徹の『草根集』に,まとまった数の類似歌が拾い出せた.さらに,正徹の弟子である桜井基佐の『基佐集』に,『為忠集』に載る歌と同一の歌が見いだせた.『為忠集』に現れる人物の考証も併せて行ったところ,『為忠集』の成立を15世紀と推定することができた.This paper reports an applications of the method of automatically extracting similar poems we developed. We have compared Tametada-Shu, the mysterious anthology unidentified in Japanese literary history, with a number of private anthologies edited after the middle of the Kamakura period (the thirteenth-century) and found that there are several pairs of similar poems between Tametada-Shu and Sokon-Shu, an anthology by Shotetsu. The result suggests that the mysterious anthology was edited by a poet in the early Muromachi period (the fifteenth-century). There have been surmised dispute about the editing date since one scholar suggested the middle of Kamakura period as a probable one. We have had strong evidence about this problem.

和歌文学研究において,歌の類似性の抽出は重要である.歌の類似性に着目することにより,過去や同時代の歌人による作品への影響を明らかにすることができ,また歌人の個性や時代による特徴を獲得することができる.従来,この類の研究は,任意の歌もしくは表現にまず注目し,次にその用例を収集するという方法で進められてきた.だがもし,大量の和歌のデータの中から類似歌を自動抽出することができれば,その類似歌の発見が契機となって新たな視点が得られ,研究の大きな進展につながることも期待できるのである.本論文では,大量の和歌データを対象に,計算機による類似歌の自動抽出を目指し,そのために必要な類似性の指標を提案する.提案した指標は,最長共通部分列に基づく指標を改善したものである.本方式を用いて,古今集と新古今集からの類似歌抽出を試みたところ,類似度の高いものの多くは,実際に本歌取りであり,また,主な注釈書には指摘が漏れている本歌取りも指摘できることが判明した.In this paper we consider a problem of automatically finding similar poems from a collection of classical Japanese poems. We propose two similarity measures, and show that they are superior to the similarity measure based on the longest common subsequence. We report successful results in finding similar poems between two imperial anthologies: KOKINSHU and SHINKOKINSHU

自己点検・評価活動のサポート 及び第三者評価への機能的な対応を目的として 九州大学教官の教育 研究 社会連携活動に関するデータを蓄積し公開するためのデーベースシステムを構築した. 一般に 大学評価では 必要となる基礎資料や統計データは多種多様であり 社会的要望や大学戦略の変化に伴って変動するものと考えられる. そのため 不定長のデータからなる不定個数のデータ項目を扱うのに適したデータベースが必要となる. そこで 本システムでは XMLをデータ構造として採用した. 本システムには 項目変更に対応するための機能が組み込まれており データ項目の変更に伴って発生する種々の作業をきわめて容易に行うことができる.We have constructed a database system containing research, education and social activities of teachers, in order to support the self-evaluation activity, and to functionally response to the third person evaluation of Kyushu University. It is known that various kinds of data items are needed for university evaluation and that it is possible to change data items according to the social requirement and the university strategy. Thus, we adopt an XML as a data format for our system, because it is flexible enough to represent such data. Since our database system has some useful properties to change data items, we caneasily upgrade the system to deal with the data scheme.

本研究は日本人高齢者の体力(ADL)について,高齢者の自己効力感を重要視した10段階評価基準の作成を試みた.被験者は60-90歳の男性106名,女性697名で,5歳刻みで評価基準を作成した.体力テスト項目は,1)開眼片足立ち,2)10m障害物歩行,3)握力,4)長座体前屈,5)椅子移動,6)椅子立ち上がり,7)ステッピング,8)一歩足踏みだし,9)シャトルスタミナウォーク,10)歩幅の10項目とした.すべての項目に対して5歳刻みの年齢毎に平均値および標準偏差を算出した.10段階評価のうち,平均値を10段階のうちの6になるように設定し,各段階は平均値±0.25SD(標準偏差)ずつ移動して,10段階評価基準を作成した.この考え方(平均値と6とする)は高齢者の自己効力感を少しでも満たそうという考えからである.すなわち,平均点が100点満点中の50点よりも60点であれば,感覚的に満足感が高いと考えられるからである.満足感が高いことは高齢者のやる気を引き出し,このことが健康教育に繋がる可能性がある.本研究ではこのような評価基準の作成は高齢者の体力評価の一つの提案と位置づけている.The author tried to make a 10-phase evaluation chart of physical fitness on Japanese elderly men and women aged 60 to 90. This study valued self-efficacy of elderly on the making the 10-phase evaluation. Physical fitness test was conducted on 106 men and 697 women. The test items were 1) one-leg balance with eye-opened, 2) 10 meters walking getting over obstacles, 3) grip strength, 4) sitting trunk flexion, 5) moving test between 2 chairs intervals, 6) 30-second squat times on the chair, 7) both legs stepping times for 30-second sitting on the chair, 8) forward step times for 30-second, 9) shuttle stamina walk for 3 minutes, and 10) step length with comfortable speed. Mean values and standard deviations were calculated as for every 5 years old on 10 measured items. Mean value of physical fitness of this study population was set at 6 of 10 phases and the range of each phase was mean value ± 0.25 standard deviation. Self-efficacy of elderly people must be considered to evaluate physical fitness, because one of important meaning of physical fitness test must be raising-up the motivation for exercise. Tables of 10-phase evaluation were made on the each test with distinction of age and sex for every 5 years old. This study was one suggestion for evaluation method of physical fitness on elderly people.

爆縮とは工学用語で,爆発の圧力が;外側ではなく内側へ集中する現象をいい,通常では得難い物理現象を発生させるために利用される.本研究では,膨れ上がるデータを爆発的に凝縮することにより,(i) データ量削減, (ii) データ処理の高速化,(iii) 知識獲得の三つを達成する基盤技術の確立を目指し,これを情報爆縮 (information implosion) と名付けた.情報爆縮基盤技術の確立のために,(A)高速データストリーム圧縮アルゴリズム,(B)圧縮データ上の高速データ処理アルゴリズム,(C)大規模データ解析アルゴリズムという3つの研究項目をおいて研究開発を行い多くの成果を得た.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the relationships between race performance and cycle characteristics in a 10-km classic-style men's cross-country ski competition. The subjects were competitors in the 89th Japan National Ski Championships. Skiing motions of the subjects on flat stretches (1.5 km and 6.5 km) and uphill slopes (1.7 km and 6.7 km) were videotaped using two high-speed cameras. Cycle characteristics were calculated based on measurement of hip displacement and cycle time. It was revealed that elite competitors (1) performed at high velocity at all measurement points, (2) reduced their velocity in the last half of the race, (3) achieved a high velocity in double poling and diagonal stride, (4) increased their cycle length and cycle rate when employing the double poling technique, and (5) increased their cycle length when employing the diagonal stride technique.

報告(Report)2009年10月15日から18日にかけて,ドイツのアルガウ,ネッセルワングにおいて国際ノルディックウォーキング連盟(International Nordic Walking Federation: INWA)主催のコンベンション2009が開催された.筆者はこれに参加し,いくつかの情報収集が出来たので,その内容を報告することとする.INWAコンベンションにはこれで2回目の参加で,報告も2回目になるが,今回の報告においては,1)2007年から2009年にかけてのNWの世界の動向,2)コンベンションから示唆できること,3)NWの将来への問題と展望,の観点から述べることとした.International Convention of Nordic Walking hosted by International Nordic Walking Federation (INWA) has been held in Nesselwang, Allgau, Germany from 15th to 18th of October 2009. The author has participated in this Convention and gotten the information about Nordic Walking trend. This is a second review for the trend for Nordic Walking in the World and Japan as the following stand points of view; 1) a trend for Nordic Walking from 2007 to 2009 in the World, 2) suggestions from the content of convention, and 3) the subjects (problems) have to be resolved in the future for Nordic Walking popularization.

本研究では,圧縮データ処理に基づいて軽量XMLデータベース管理システム(DBMS)のための基盤技術を確立することを目標とし,主として以下の成果を得た.(1) 高速で軽量なオンライン文法圧縮アルゴリズムの開発. (2) 圧縮データ上で動作するq-グラム頻度計算アルゴリズムの開発. (3) 高速XMLデータストリームフィルタリング技術の開発. この他,DBMSの備えるべき知的データ処理機能として,パターンの効率的な枚挙,分類,オンライン予測等に関する研究を行い,多くの成果を得ている.

古今和歌六帖』と『源氏物語』を研究対象として校本システムを開発し、平安朝文学の伝本と表現に関する考察をおこなった。和歌用デジタル校本システムについては、伝本の墨付きの現状を、より論理的に表記するタグ付け規則を案出した。また、散文用校本作成支援ツールは、『源氏物語』の伝本4本のデータ処理をほぼ完了し、計算機を用いた異文箇所の数値化、およびSplits Treeによる本文系統の視覚化といった、本文異同を把握する一連の手法を確立した。
