The Japanese language is known to have a rich vocabulary of mimetic words, which have the property of sound symbolism; Phonemes that compose the mimetic words are strongly related to the impression of various phenomena. Especially, human gait is one of the most commonly represented phenomena by mimetic words expressing its visually dynamic state. Sound symbolism is useful for modeling the relation between gaits and mimetic words intuitively, but there has been no study on their intuitive generation. Most previous gait generation methods set specific class labels such as “elderly” but have not considered the intuitiveness of the generation model. Thus, in this paper, we propose a framework to generate gaits from a mimetic word based on sound symbolism. This framework enables us to generate gaits from one or more mimetic words. It leads to the construction of a generation model represented in a continuous feature space, which is similar to human intuition. Concretely, we train an encoder-decoder model conditioned by a “phonetic vector”, a quantitive representation of mimetic words, with an adaptive instance normalization module inspired by style transfer. The phonetic vector is a dense description of the intuitive impression of a corresponding gait and is calculated from many mimetic words in the HOYO dataset, which includes gait motion data and corresponding mimetic word annotations. Through experiments, we confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed framework.

Photosymbiosis occurs in symbiotic relationships between heterotrophs and photosymbiotic organisms, where a photosynthetic symbiont provides photosynthate to a host. While almost all known host animals are invertebrates, experiments have determined that artificial symbiotic relationships can be established between vertebrates and phototrophs. The ability to generate photosymbiotic relationships in vertebrates has important applications for medical treatments and commercial resource production.

This paper propose a virtual camera-work method for musical instruments performance videos. At the concerts for professional musical instruments performers, videos are shot and edited by a professional cameraman or editors. These videos are broad-casted on TV or sold as a DVD. On the other hand, at the concerts for amateur musical instruments performers including extracurricular activities, it is difficult to have a professional cameraman or editor shoot and edit videos because of the cost problem. We can solve the cost problem by automatically reconstructing the concerts videos by fixed camera without cameraman. We have proposed a method of virtual camera-work method using receding horizon strategy which is well used in control engineering. This method eliminates the need for a professional cameraman and editor, then we can reduce the cost of shooting and editing. In this paper, we show a method to automatically reconstruct videos for musical instruments performance videos taken by fixed point camera. In case of musical instruments performance videos or concert videos, drastic changing of frame is required because various focus point (such as various performers) are including the entire frame of the fixed camera. The control objective in this paper is to propose an automatically reconstruction method of videos using receding horizon strategy with adequate setting of the cost function to achieve drastic changing the frames in reconstructed videos.

排尿障害 (下部尿路機能障害) には, 蓄尿障害と排尿 (排出) 障害があり, それぞれ膀胱 (排尿筋) 機能障害と尿道 (括約筋) 機能障害に分けられる. 蓄尿障害に対する治療の目的は, 膀胱機能に対しては排尿筋収縮を減弱する (膀胱知覚を抑制する) ことであり, 尿道機能に対しては, 尿道平滑筋, あるいは横紋筋の収縮性を増強することである. 保存療法の行動療法には, 生活指導, 膀胱訓練, 理学療法がある. この理学療法の新しい治療法として, 磁気刺激療法がある. これは尿道括約筋 (骨盤底筋) の収縮性を増強することにより腹圧性尿失禁に, 膀胱の収縮を抑制することにより排尿筋過活動に有効である. 薬物療法としては, 過活動膀胱に対しては, これまで抗コリン薬が主流であった. 新しい抗コリン薬としてフェソテロジンが発売され, また副作用軽減を目的にオキシブチニン経皮吸収型製剤 (ネオキシテープ) が発売された. また新しい機序の薬物療法として2011年にβ3-アドレナリン受容体刺激薬 (ミラベグロン) が発売された. その他の新しい薬物として, ボツリヌス毒素膀胱壁内注入療法などが開発されているが, いまだ日本での適応は認められていない.

In this paper, I will show the purpose (Section 1) and structure (Section 2) of this paper. And I will briefly introduce the human capital theory and signaling theory (Section 3). Then, I will overview the developments of rate of return to schooling studies done by researchers of foreign countries, especially in the United States and the United Kingdom (Section 4). Next I will summarize the rate of return to schooling studies done by Japanese researchers (Section 5). Finally I will compare both of them and clarify the significance and future challenges of such studies by Japanese researchers (Section 6).Section 4 demonstrates that rate of return studies by foreign researchers were especially focused on the net rate of return to schooling with ability data, twin data and IV estimates, excluding the ability and selection biases. Section 5 explains that Japanese researchers focused on the very detailed economic structure of academic credentialism, while paying insufficient attention to net rate of return to schooling. They also calculated very sophisticated estimates of rate of return to schooling by sizes and industries of companies, or to individual universities or schools.I conclude that the above sophisticated estimates of rate of return by Japanese researchers are unique and calculated based on the social concern on “ Examination Hell”. Future challenges must devote more attentions to ability biases, and also focus on the detailed economic structure of academic credentialism.

痛みに捉われずに生活することは可能だろうか.他人には理解されず,死ぬしかないと思うほど苦しんでいるのに,捉われない方法などあるのだろうか.こじれた痛みには原因がそれなりにある.しかし患者の訴えは医療者にも周囲の人にも理解しがたいと受け止められがちだ.理解されるために「過剰な説明」に追われ,空廻りしながら説明に疲れ果てる患者.一方で静かな患者がいる.社会生活の中で「常態化」「pacing」,「持ちこたえ」,「身体の作り変え」を行って,痛みとの折り合いを付け,更には「知覚・認識の作り変え」まで行われているのではないかと筆者は考える.黙々と耐える患者はどのように痛みと折り合っているのだろうか.どの患者も痛みのバックグラウンドを理解され,快方に向かう希望を持てる,そんな試みが始まっていることは患者にとって心強い.こじれた痛みと悩みを患者の相談事例の中から紹介し,痛みに捉われない方法を発見するにはどうしたらよいのか,一緒に考えていただければと思う.

This paper reviews the circumstances, current situation, and issues for Japanese occupational health physicians and discusses future developments. The Industrial Safety and Health Act requires workplaces that regularly employ 50 or more workers to appoint one occupational health physician. Their duties have been expanded by amendments to the Act, and they now have increased authority. Under these conditions, the occupational health physicians not only comply with laws and regulations but also follow a professional code of ethics. After the Act was amended in 1996, occupational health physicians had to complete additional training requirements. Basic training courses are provided by the Japan Medical Association (JMA) and the University of Occupational and Environmental Health, Japan. Most of the occupational health physicians certified by the JMA do not spend enough time on occupational health. Many Japanese occupational health work issues can be separated into issues of exposure, labor, and the occupational health system. Occupational health is characterized by changing needs because of new industrial structures and technological innovations. Given occupational health physicians' expanding duties and professional development, they need to collaborate with one other and other occupational health staff to meet society's expectations.

朝7時から夜7時までと夜7時から朝7時までの12時間、各種ホルモンと糖代謝、脂質代謝に関連する項目の変動を検討した。朝試験は夜試験に比べて、食後1時間のインスリン濃度が有意に低値を示し、遊離脂肪酸 (NEFA) は食後12時間で有意に高値を示した。またGLP-1曲線化下面積 (GLP-1 AUC) は夜試験において有意に高値であった。夜試験の血糖値、インスリン濃度変動から、夜間は犬においてもインスリン抵抗性が若干上昇していて、インスリンによる血糖低下が昼間に比べると低いことが考えられた。

<p>In Japan most scenic town has many historic resources but recent increases of car traffics do damage to them. Especially in a temple town, the from approach to it is atrophied and ruined by many car traffics. We make clear the traffic function of it and changes of land uses along it through some empirical investigations in order to indicate such a actual circumstances and make some considerations on the preservation of it.</p>

Accumulated evidence has shown that exposure to low-dose radiation, especially doses less than 0.1 Gy, induces observable effects on mammalian cells. However, the underlying molecular mechanisms have not yet been clarified. Recently, it has been shown that low-dose radiation stimulates growth factor receptor, which results in a sequential activation of the mitogen-activated protein kinase pathway. In addition to the activation of the membrane-bound pathways, it is becoming evident that nuclear pathways are also activated by low-dose radiation. Ionizing radiation has detrimental effects on chromatin structure, since radiation-induced DNA double-strand breaks result in discontinuity of nucleosomes. Recently, it has been shown that ATM protein, the product of the ATM gene mutated in ataxia-telangiectasia, recognizes alteration in the chromatin structure, and it is activated through intermolecular autophosphorylation at serine 1981. Using antibodies against phosphorylated ATM, we found that the activated and phosphorylated ATM protein is detected as discrete foci in the nucleus between doses of 10 mGy and 1 Gy. Interestingly, the size of the foci induced by low-dose radiation was equivalent to the foci induced by high-dose radiation. These results indicate that the initial signal is amplified through foci growth, and cells evolve a system by which they can respond to a small number of DNA double-strand breaks. From these results, it can be concluded that low-dose radiation is sensed both in the membrane and in the nucleus, and activation of multiple signal transduction pathways could be involved in manifestations of low-dose effects.
