前回予告したように、今回は薬剤性の物忘れやせん妄について取り上げる。まずは、次に紹介する文章をお読みいただきたい。これは、弘前大学医学部神経内科教授の東海林幹夫氏が、『Modern Physician』誌2007年5月号に書いている、薬剤性の認知障害についての言葉である。 「最近、特に問題になっているのは薬剤性認知症である。

古代オリンピックで実施されていた吹奏競技と布告競技は芸術競技の範疇に入るものであり、その伝統を受け継いで、今日のオリンピックは文化プログラムを行うことがオリンピック憲章にて決められた。バルセロナ大会(1992)より、前大会終了後から4年間に及ぶ文化プログラムが行われ、カルチュラルオリンピアードと名付けられて今日まで継続されている。オリンピアードとは、大会開催年の1月から4年間を指すので、大会終了後も文化プログラムを続け、オリンピックレガシーとするべきである。日本から発信すべき文化プログラムとして、嘉納治五郎の理念、日本の和の心を伝えていくことは、文化交流や国際交流に貢献すると期待される。

Many elderly people find rehabilitation training pleasurable at first, but difficult to continue. One of the causes is the monotony of the training. In order to reduce this, we developed a foot-operated wheelchair called the "Step Walker" for walk rehabilitation training which allows the patient more freedom of movement. The Step Walker has a pedal with a linkage mechanism and can move forward when the patient performs the step movement. Musclar power can be improved by using this wheelchair, without the patient being conscious of training. Measurement of the action potential of the muscles during Step Walker use and walking showed the muscles of the leg required for walking could be effectively trained by using this Step Walker.

環境運動は、NPOや慈善組織など非営利法人制度を持つアメリカやイギリスで、穏健な中流の自然保護運動として早くから制度化され、組織基盤の確立や環境政策決定への影響力増大に寄与した。1970年前後に登場した「新しい社会運動」的性格を持つ環境運動も、アメリカを中心に「アドボカシー型NPO」として制度化が進み、圧力集団として影響力行使のチャネルを確立したが、同時に制度化により「体制編入」や運動の保守化が進んだと、草の根環境運動等から批判を受けることとなった。一方、アメリカで1980年以降台頭した産業公害、廃棄物問題等の社会的格差や不平等を問題にする草の根環境運動は、地域レベルの運動の支援強化、「エンパワーメント」を志向した制度化をめざす。本稿は、環境運動の制度化がもたらす「体制編入」と「エンパワーメント」という2つの効果を、政治的リベラリズムから新保守主義への転換という1970年代以降の公共政策をめぐる政治状況の変容から分析する。

We propose a method for generating pointillistic style images from input image considering the features of Seurat's pointillism. Georges-Pierre Seurat is a pioneer and prime exponent of neo-impressionist. He established a technique called pointillism based on scientific color theory. There are three important features of Seurat's pointillism: optical mixture, complementary color contrast and halo effect. The most important feature is the optical mixture. To implement the optical mixture faithfully, we present a pointillistic halftoning method for color halftoning on random dots by utilizing a spatial data structure of boundary sampling algorithm. In addition, we implement complementary color contrast and halo effect according to actual Seurat's painting steps.

Vacuoles occupy 80–90% of a mature plant cell and mainly contribute to all types of cell expansion. Zeocin, an inducer of DNA double-strand breaks, causes cell expansion with endoreduplication. The vacuolar structure after zeocin treatment was examined in tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum) cultured cells expressing GFP fused to a vacuole membrane protein. We found that the genotoxic stress induced the cell expansion with subdivision of the vacuolar lumen by cytoplasmic strands. When a femtosecond laser was used to cut off the cytoplasmic strand, mitochondrial transport along the strand stopped. This suggested that in the elongated cells under the genotoxic stress, the transport of subcellular materials was activated for DNA repair within the damaged cell nucleus by the construction of a network of cytoplasmic strands in the vacuolar lumen.

アンケート結果から学年間において市販飲料水に対する意識の違いが異なることが判明した。官能評価の結果,どの学年においてもカルシウム,マグネシウム,ナトリウム,硫酸イオンなどの溶存物が低含量である国産市販飲料水の試料1,2が有意に好まれた(P<0.05)。試料1と試料2の水質の識別は,3,4年生では正解率が高く,1,2年生では低く得られ有意差が認められた(P<0.05)。試料1で抽出した水出し煎茶溶液が他の試料より有意に好まれた(P<0.05)。カリウム,重炭酸イオン,シリカ,硝酸イオンなどが高含量である試料3で1時間抽出した水出し煎茶溶液は3,4年生は1年生よりも有意に高く識別した(P<0.05)。

Shiki-an Garden(Negishi, Taito Ward in Tokyo) is a garden inside the residence where Shiki MASAOKA(a superior haiku poet in the Meiji era) had lived for about 9 years from 1894 (the year 27 in the Meiji era) before he passed away by the vertebra caries of disease in 1902(the year 35 in the Meiji era). In this research, it emerged the garden's sort, form, position and terms of plants and facilities in the garden, from some analyses about 398 articles of Shiki's essays, poems (haiku, tanka, and new-style poetry), pictures, letters, reminiscence notes of his pupils, old garden photos and pictures. In addition, I made 9 ground plans year by year which are re-creating garden scenes in his life. As a result, this garden was classified into three kinds of era, and had each of different garden scenes. It also could be inferred that a progress of garden scenes considerably concerns with a growth of his disease and a change in his view.
